Problem rendering a track on FL
Oopie replied to Oopie's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Hi all. I'm frustrated. Found no way to solve this problem this far... I find these 2 tracks I made so special that it would be a crying shame if people can't hear them. I'm also playing own music in a party soon. So if anybody's out there being a sound/FL geek, I'll send you the flp files plus all plugins and sound samples I used in these tracks. If you can render them to me in 24bit wav it's straight 50 euros in your pocket. Please somebody bom! -
Why does no one in the US appreciate GOOD electronic music?
Oopie replied to Malachyte's topic in General Psytrance
Man that does sound like a frustrating situation. Indeed I've always wondered US being such a big and developed country why they had no goa artists. Okay couple exceptions can always be found... from the 90s I recall Symbiote who released this 'Phantasmagoria EP' which is some of the most inspiring goa ever made. My advice to change the current situation is to be the change. I reckon psytrance could be much bigger thing there if people were more exposed to it - especially full-on with it's simplier structure and catchy bassline. Naturally you'd need an artist or two who'd like to co-operate in organising a party, if that's possible then all the rest will take care of itself, trust me. They could be also artists from hardtrance/techno scene to broaden your possibilities. I'm not sure if this is such an interesting story for you but here it goes: In the summer I also wanted to attend goa party here in Finland but there was nothing on the menu. Some new school happens here time to time yes... but I'm not such a big fan usually (Lol, maybe sounds spoiled to you? ). I wanted a real goa party with the _best_ psytrance that was ever made - basically the 90s stuff. I talked about this with another old school geek and we were like: who not do it ourselves?... one thing leads to another and before I knew it, we had 6 djs all playing only 90s goa/psy on an island near by Helsinki. Over 200 people attended and made us realise old school has not lost the spice, quite the contrary. Now your turn. ;--) -
As many have replied, it depends on the particular album you listen and your sound system. Usually I keep the eq settings to normal, with old school goa it's sometimes alright to boost the bass a little.

That's not a bad track at all. 7/10 continuing in the same spirit...

This brings me fond memories as I received this cd as a gift from the label owner. The album has grown on me probably to the degree it's possible. I can appreciate this to the point to say it's listenable. There's quirky, high pitched sounds in this track that are really juicy and give the track it's colour. It is still quite monotone and music like this can never truly penetrate my heart... lol. 6/10

Amber takes the crown. It's somewhat technically more advanced than Incunabula without losing that deep, "soul introspecting thru mechanics" touch. Tri Repetae is good to a degree but is already a sign of their future path, where the sound comes technically fascinating, yet clinical and avoid of human feeling. I don't like their music after Tri Repetae to be honest. Oversteps I bought blindly because people were raving it being a return to their old form. I reckon it's not even nearly in the same category as their first two albums unfortunately.

Thanks mate! But tbh, as soon as I can hit the studio to do couple more mixes, this one will be erased without hesitation lol.

Human Blue track deserves a mention. Epsilon is the best I've heard from him, defo gonna drop it at some party sooner or later.

MOS... one of the best in their own niche. Dark, technoish prog - good club music but I'd never go for this in my home. 7/10

Doesn't sound familiar to be honest. But yes, French sounding.

Etnica - Live In Athens 96 Koan - Argonautica Wisenevil - Dabas Project All are recommended.

He's definitely delivered us some of the most groundbreaking, original, twisted high-octane goa (or hard melodic psychedelic trance). As was mentioned, he lacks in consistency and personally I find the new album isn't that good, the compositions and melodies there are a bit awkward even. Not sure if the guy lost the plot, but how I see it is that the old stuff (9x-01) is where he has been in his most striking form.

The new M-Run is exactly my taste! I've forgotten how to put great music in words a long time ago, so I'm gonna give it short: this is the Crownomi of the label. I've not heard anything like this before, it's a new path for goa. Most recommended.

Other one (netlabel), with reaally old school suomi tracks is thixxndixx. It's mostly sh*t and was shared normally via web as 128/160kbps quality, but anyway use google and you'd find torrent with all their releases.

I've wondered why like all artists from here make suomisaundi? It's very specific sound that's to a degree self-ironic yet at best, visionary psytrance. As a some sort of a bedroom producer, I've also come to notice it just happens almost unintentionally to add weird samples and take quirky direction with the music.

y2k remix, it's no brainer. Apart from Etnica themselves, no-one has made a good remix of this track. Remixing at it's best is to have elements from the original, but essentially creating something new. These rmxes are somewhat bland, watered down versions with modern day production.

I reckon they lost it after Tri Repetae, which would be only moderately good compared to Incunabula or Amber (Amber being the magnum opus). They also did some well stuff as Gescom and Lego Feet.

Hi. There's some interest here in Helsinki as it goes for nuskool goa; for example Filteria and Artifact303 have played here not too long ago. Actually when I think about it, there are lot of party organising groups here just for psytrance. I'm a very small organiser myself, maybe two parties a year max. This year we had one party which is the best I've ever attended, it was a small island party very close to central Helsinki, maybe 50x50metres in size, two hundred people came there and all DJs played 100% 90's goa for the whole night. Even the sea guards who showed up tapped their feet a bit! ;-------)

Problem rendering a track on FL
Oopie replied to Oopie's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Hi there ouroboros. I don't know what you mean but I guess the answer is no... Anyway for all you guys, thanks so much (!) for trying to help me out on this. I didn't figure out a way yet. I tried saving the projects as separate, new FL files but that didn't work. E-Mantra's got a good point there: could be one or some of the VSTs I use are broken or expired - these tracks were playable in the recent past. Now I've thought about uninstalling/installing the whole FL and trying it again. Another option is to maybe send these two project files to someone who uses FL as well? I reckon the other person would need the same VSTs + the couple audio samples I've used, no? -
Cronomi Records takes the crown easy. Erta Ale is a brilliant compilation and the new M-Run album matches my taste perfectly, guess I could stretch my opinion to say it's an instant classic.
