Lots of old school goa makes me cry... happens while I'm cycling or stoned, hehe.

;-) I find that pose of Eskimo so ridiculous I had to put it as my avatar.

#1 Martin Haidinger (Gimmik, Abfahrt Hinwil etc.) - no questions asked, he's the best writer of melodies I've heard. #2 Bola - all his cds are excellent, there's a reason a lot of people mentioned the infamous "Bolaman". #3 7th Plain - Luke Slater moniker, only two albums under his belt if memory stands correct. "The 4 Cornered Room" is one of my all time fav'es. Hesitating to mention AFX, AE or Plaid... they've been mentioned earlier, that's one reason. Secondly, so much fillers have been released by these artists; they'd overall receive "average" rating from my part.

All dudes and dudettes, I'm giving you 4-5 items asking for one cd in return (from your collection, or a mid priced cd on discogs). There's a lot of potentially likeable music on my tradelist if you have a varied taste, I've just listened them enough and the time has come to give them to someone else.

Hitler really hates the new Infected Mushroom album

Ormion you nailed it! -
Heh. Althou Trans-Lucid's self titled is not the best goa release out there I do find it to have a couple tracks worth hearing. But Rino nailed the point - it's not really worth the big money, but if you're able to find it on an auction site for a low starting bid... you could always invest a couple euros on it.

What are the main releases of Etnica/Pleiadians?
Oopie replied to simorq's topic in General Psytrance
Using discogs might be helpful... Etnica: Juggeling Alchemists Under The Black Light (1995) Alien Protein (1996) Equator (1998) Pleiadians: IFO (1997) Family Of Light (1999) These are the "main" releases, or if I may put it the other way - the ones you should get. -
That must be my #1 interest when it comes to old school goa I've not heard.... maybe one day I'll hear it.

What music are you listening to right now?
Oopie replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Monolake / Static Excellent 'isolated in space' kinda dub techno... -
Basilisk, that's a long list you got there. Legal Mission / Forcing Tomorrow - If you take it as a trance release it's quite ok. The tracks are simple in their structure, dated in a way of course... not bad thou. You will find at least one Legal Mission track on youtube. Brainwasher / Cosmos EP - Had it and listened perhaps once. It's simply put average/below average acid (goa) trance that lacks imagination and talent.

I miss the old freestyle forum, pants and Feathers...

That album lacks quite a bit in well, every area. It's not as good as Deviant Electronics, the rating on Discogs is justified. "Church of Tangent" is a hidden gem thou, it has excellent melodies and good use of acid, would do well as an old school set opener I reckon...

The best trance ever was made before 2000...
Oopie replied to Lemmiwinks's topic in General Psytrance
I disagree with the claim. First of all, it's actually pleasing to hear such an improved production quality on new tracks. Secondly, it's rubbish to claim there wouldn't be artists out there these days with an original sound - there are, and they do their thing well. Just a little list of modern goa that's up there with any older classics: Filteria / Birds Lingua Franca Bit-Head / Stressed Out Agneton / Eyes Wide Open Armageddance / Another Reality Astrancer / Dzog Chen Intriga / Stupify New Born / Purity ...and if you dislike all of that, we prolly should go to different parties lol. -
The label Raster Noton might have something to fit your needs...

Hi Pietoneduud. Accidentally is the answer. I often read reviews on discogs and this particular Lagowski album had just been reviewed. I haven't bought it yet but it's on my to-buy list. Althou I would like to hear some samples first tbh. I still have teh pants. Haven't used for a while... they lack pockets! I'm a pocket kinda guy.

Hey np. I find there are so many goa frr3aks on this forum a thread like this could turn out to be a gold mine, really. It does indeed. I'll tell my impressions after I've heard it. Never heard. But you got me curious to say the least...
-
Here's one I came across: http://www.discogs.com/Lagowski-Wire-Science/release/118283 It's from 1993 and I've never heard of it. If somebody has, any thoughts you could share?

Endah, take that Ubar Tmar while the offer lasts.

The Misted Muppet - Cat Visions Excellent track! -
I added some psychill. have a look.

There's a lot of ambient that's not melodic based. You Bwhale might deem it as 'crap' which is your right, you also have the right not to listen to that stuff. Quite easy when you think of it!

the misted muppet / cat visions great tune. -
ys. My view is that the characteristics that define full-on are quite narrow - change a couple of things in the track and it's considered something else. And the audiotextural qualities of full-on are just not of psychedelic type, more of a mass appeal type. As a long time psytrance listener this genre is just dull to put it short. Full-on has in my opinion zero "standard" or "general" qualities that I'd say can't be found better/deeper made in other subgenres - on melody department the new/old school goa has the edge easily, and on the fx trickery side there's darkpsy. End of rant! e. here are my recommendations: koxbox - u-turn the misted muppet - from the legend scatterbrain - infernal angel tryambaka - the colour of time
