Best dark psy I've evö hööd. Very glad to finally get this.
-
Ubar Tmar's Fusion 40 euros. It was my first psy-cd ever and I just *had* to get it when I saw it on ebay. And then there's The History Of The House Sound of Chicago 15cd box set for 50 euros. I've noticed if you're patient, eventually you'll get what you want for a fair price.

to celebrate my 40th monology in this topic, I added some nice old school. zeck it outh!

(Almost) same guys, doesn't matter. Checking discogs reveals to me there's... are you ready? ONE original, non-GNOTR rmx, Tufaan track existing called "Boxed". So there you have it. I would bet GNOTR used their Tufaan rmxes in sets pretty commonly. That's more coverage most goa acts with 3 vinyls released get. And when you have a back catalog of 3 vinyls it's clear you're not the most talked act. One needs continuity and consistency to be in the top charts.

Technossomy and GNOTR are hardly underestimated. Both groups were in the front line when they were active and released well selling albums for major labels.

What music are you listening to right now?
Oopie replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
I don't find this particular track so much, but "stareye" is goa of the highest order. I'm looking forward to hear more music from this artist. np. Phreaky - Over The Moon One of the best... -

CompactStick - the successor of the CD
Oopie replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
My contribution to this thread is simple. I'm pro-CD althou I know environmentally it's not the best option. The reason is - I don't want to hang in front of my computer all day, DL'ing tracks, organising playlists on winamp etc. It really makes my mind numb to stare at the screen. I want the use of computer and listening to music be two different things. One could say - just organise a good playlist and let it play... but computer is for me is a devil's product, it sucks you in so easily and unnoticably. Before I know it, I was suppose to put music on but am on my 2nd hour reading pienews. -
I remember vaguely Etnica having recorded on Mother Ship...
-
Astrancer (Dzog Chen), Antares (Aurora), Red Gravity (Momentary 29). That's the sort of goa trance that makes me remember what is so special about this genre.
-
Hiscore - Identify I've been looking this sick acid monster for more than half a year in wav, no luck. Some day...

Earliest I can think of.... MK - Divisions (techno mix) 1991 Presence - Presence In The House 1991 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OkU7woOQ3s Megabeat - Twin Beats 1991 Unfortunately no video available. However, I can give you a link to the track if you give me a PM. And then some... E-Rection - Smoke My Dang-a-long 1992 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CofuKaNlmxE...feature=related Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons 1993 (^ I think the version on the video is orion mix from 1994 which is slightly improven version if you ask me)

Cosmic Delusion - Pixel Freaks Factory420 Records 1 N.S.W. 2008 (7:10) 2 Tajuntontut (6:27) 3 Archives (6:16) 4 The Reaping (8:41) 5 Laundry Of Bitches (6:03) 6 One Of That (6:28) Featuring - Radonix 7 Circle Of Pain (7:22) 8 Reflect (9:14) 9 Unleashed (6:50) 10 Touthanasia (8:57) Cosmic Delusion are Jari Sipola and Arttu Oinonen from Funland. I first heard them play at local forest party. From the first drop of beat I knew I would like it. Before I even realised, the crowd simply lost their manners on the dancefloor, me included. Heard them again a few weeks back and started to wonder why I didn't buy their album the first time around! But now I stand corrected... Suomiscene artists usually make quite self-ironic and humourous music, it's different from what's being released elsewhere. But lately we've also developed a small darkpsy/full-on scene. For example Tutankhamon 9000's Lost In Luxor was one of the highlights of darker psytrance this year if you ask me. Cosmic Delusion on the other hand could be classified as melodic full-on. After hearing them live I do feel a bit dissapointed listening to Pixel Freaks. Coupla tracks here (2,3,5,6) feel nothing but fillers, don't progress anywhere, lack climaxes. Beh! to put it short. Rest of the album saves it for me thou. Groovy melodylines accompanied by thick rolling basslines. After a few listens I'm noticing an impressive amount of time has been used to tweak little background details. That means the more I listen to this the more I like it. Special Mention goes to opening track "N.S.W 2008" which feels the most complete of them all and hasn't got a boring moment to it. The other one to captivate my attention is "The Reaping" which relies mostly on sharp little effects and a killing percussion, yet revealing haunting background melody later in the track. Most modern full-on is really shallow and stands perhaps a few listens before fading to oblivion and giving way to the next "prodigy!" artist. These guys are true to underground and make sure even the most hard boiled east-helsinki psytrolls get on their dancetoes. Although suffering from a few uninspired tracks, Pixel Freaks is still overall a recommended album. The best tracks are guaranteed to cause dancefloor havoc. The sound palette is to my liking too - melodies don't sound plastic, yet they don't remind me of old school either. The Mastering by Markku Louhio and Tommi Sirkiä (Highpersonic Whomen) is top notch if I may add. There's plenty of punch, yet the sound is crisp and balanced. Not overly compressed like the new Eat Static for example. 8/10 You can listen to track #1 unmastered version at mikseri.net if you're curious! http://www.mikseri.net/music/play.php?id=323153&type=dl

Cosmic Delusion - Pixel Freaks Nasty full-on from Funland...
-
Tutankhamon 9000 are from Funland, hope that explains it... btw it's one of my fav'e albums of the year. I suggest to check out a few samples.

Thanks for sharing. Hadn't heard pre-mix earlier. It's indeed much rougher than the DJ Mael rmx I got. Those who've heard DJ Mael rmx and original, which do you find better? Should I start hunting for the original?
-
Lani? Name at least 4 goa acts which include 5 or more members.
-
Not to step on your toes, taste is taste as we know... but I seriously consider TF lost it after the seminal "petoman's peflett" (which I think is still TeEhH SUOMI album). As far it goes for Mandalavandalz... only the deput is in the classic league I reckon. Thou I still haven't heard their new one so I'm hopeful they're back in the biz... Nowadays the Suomi artists to keep an eye on are Troll Scientists, Intriga and Cosmic Delusion.

Akasha - Ace of Wands what a solid morning tune -
oh my... that's so nice. Would buy just for the cover.
-
I'm feelin you... I reckon there are perhaps 4-5 really good psy albums each year at best. I guess over time what happens is, you'll find a very certain soundtexture appealing, thus getting more picky and picky...

Monolake Anders Ilar Koxbox All I've heard from above mentioned acts has been good.
