Nothing ... Fnac Champs Elysees used to be a good resource to find psytrance CDs, but it's now much less interesting (not that much choice) ... but still better than any other shop that I know in Paris ... Virgin is almost dead for psytrance, and Techno Import as well ... I sincerely invite you to buy your CDs at PSYSHOP.COM ... ok you might not like to send your credit card number via the net (like me), but they also have a COD (Cash On Delivery) payment service. For the moment I only bought once on this site (8 CDs), but I didn't hear any problem with it ... it took 2 weeks to receive them, but that was because of the Christmas huge period ... it generally takes few days as people say here ...

:-) No there won't me more than 2 virtual CDs, and I don't think Inpsyde Media is going to release double cd comps, so the 2nd contest comp will also probably be 1 CD only. I personally have 3 favourites at the moment (Masada, Sienis, Chiron), and think around 10 Tracks are really nice (on the 28 I have). The Track from Chiron is still not on the site, will be uploaded soon. It's a very nice psy/melodic track.

Astonishing ... the quality of some Tracks is really astonishing !!! My current favourite : Masada (ok they are not completely unknown) : listen to this Track ... I don't have another version than the 96 Kbps one and I can say you that I'm SURE to like it very much :-) Other advices : Sienis, Ectopile, Nostromus, Psychopat, Metronome, Cujorius One. Yes, I know we decided not to speak about our favourites in order not to influence people, but ... I now think the more there will be opinions about tracks participating on the forum the more people who can't download too many Tracks won't miss the jewel ones and will give a representative vote :-) So I think we should speak of the Tracks ... in that way people who won't win will at least read some feedback sometimes here :-) And you, what are you current favs ?

Music is the main thing, we won't get more money if INPSYDE MEDIA get more, but winners WILL get money for their work and will have chances to reach other labels for debut album possibilities if they are promoted through these compilations. Anyway as you say money is not the most important, for us the most important thing is to make the winners evolve from the amateur/unknown status to a more professional/known one, and a compilation can't be a better way for them to become considered on the scene (by labels & DJ's) ... and I don't see the word "money" in this objective, money is part of the consequences, not the cause of this contest.

Well there are 3 reasons : 1) Needs less server space indeed (we are talking about Gigabytes here (we had 2 Gb last contest and I'm sure we'll have the same for this one, even if the size of the Tracks is 2 times shorter), that's very hard to find so much space) 2) Permits people who don't have a good bandwidth to dload more Tracks 3) Isn't enough for people to satisfy with this quality & not buy the future compilation. You can doubt a label who invests on the release of a new compil prefer to avoid everybody to already have the Tracks in 192 Kbps (or even 128) for free, there's lots of chances sales will be much lower than with 96 Kbps free versions of the Tracks. As the aim of this contest is to give to the winners a REAL chance to get signed & eventually make a debut album in the future, that's better to decrease the quality of free Tracks in order to keep a chance for the comp to be released. We really think 96 Kbps is enough to judge the interest of a Track.

My current fav are Ectopile and Nostromus ... I've just received a very nice psychedelic Track from Masada :-) Will be added in few days as well as the other new Tracks :-)

Anyway I don't review many releases now as I don't have the time to do detailed reviews (the 1-2 lines ones I wrote at the beginning of 2000 aren't reviews for me, that was just a very quick opinion about each release in order to start the reviews section, as I had to review more than 100 releases to start it) ... sorry for that :-(

I've even given a 0.5/10 rating to one album ... :-) But I really didn' t like it at all.

To Maïa : hehe thx :-) Actually I never gave 10/10 till then :-) I even gave some 1/10 ratings at the very beginning ... but my opinion about these releases changed a bit since then ... I'd rate them 1 or 2 points more right now (not for each one though).

As some of you have noticed, the "display a pic" option wasn't available anymore on this forum yesterday night & this morning. The reason was simple : Mars decided to remove this option as some porn pics have been linked on this forum in one of the threads of the "Off-Topic" section. Why ? Because some visitors mailed him to complain about the fact that they had problems at their work while surfing on this thread (you can imagine the problem). I've just mailed him about that problem and made him change his mind, saying that's better to first give a WARNING to visitors about that kind of abuse, before definitely remove the option. So, please, DON'T PUT PORN PICS on this website, that's not its aim and some people (like me for example) use this forum at work and don't want to let their boss think they are looking for PORN whereas they are reading this forum posts, or we'll be forced to remove this "display pictures" option ... If you want to talk of porn & trade pics, I'm SURE you'll find lots of forums dedicated to that topic by searching on Google for example.

Well the comp of winners can already be reviewed :-) About talking of the Tracks themselves (winner & non-winner ones), we actually thought that would be the role of the "Music Making" section :-)
