Eraser And Yojalka - Eraser And Yojalka Artist: Eraser And Yojalka Title: Eraser And Yojalka Label: Exogenic Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 07'45" Sensemelter 02. 08'30" Ghost Train 03. 05'09" Heilinhale Review: First of all each track of this EP have a very fast BPM & acid melodies, but what could you expect else from Exogenic than something very psychedelic (but also melodic, I would say "psychedelic melodies"), crazy and inovative ? Sensemelter uses melts oriental melodies with fast acid lines & sound effects. Actually all goes very fast. I don't know the BPM but I think it's over 150. Anyway, strangely, the track is not that aggressive as the samples used are well chosen. Think it's very nice for the dancefloor (in the 2nd part of a set), but you'll certainly need a break if you dance as fast as the rhythm goes. Ghost Train well suits its name as it starts with that kind of ambience. All seems dark at the beginning, but a nice loud bassline quickly starts the crazyness. The background samples used along the track are very scary. Anyway the main drum is a little too loud compared to the other parts IMHO. This track is not as fast and acid as Sensemelter, but still very psychedelic, particularly the last 2 minutes. Hailinhale also contains few oriental voices & oriental (but still acid) melodies as Sensemelter, and a very acid background with still a groovy mellow bassline. Not as fast and psychedelic than Sensemelter but more than Ghost Train. Overall an interesting style, but I think you can quickly become bored of it as it's really fast ... lacks some breaks I think. Rating : 6/10

You're wrong ;-) Inpsyde Media will pay him as they did with Flow for the first comp package. But he will have to win the upcoming cover contest for that, cause there will also be such a contest, as for the first Psychedelic Sparks upcoming comp :-)

Check out the "contest" forum ;-) This contest will probably lead to a 2nd compilation, and then we'll need a cover for it :-) But we still have not decided of the compilation name yet.

It's not as good as Cosmology (more psyche, less melodic), but I think it's better than Intergalactic (which is less psyche, less melodic than Cosmology). I rated it 7/10 some months ago, and trust me few CDs are rated 7/10 with my rating system :-) The package is very nice. Even the CD has a very nice design, one of the most psyche CD design I've ever seen :-)

Well that's normal, each year has at least 5 favourites highlighted which means : 1995-1999 = 5*5 = 25 highlighted releases 2000-2001 = 2*5 = 10 highlighted releases Sometimes there are more than 5 highlighted releases for a same year (when the results are too close)

Anyway a general opinion on each track (between more than 1 reviewer) could be precise enough, but once again who could make that ? There are around 200 tracks to review !

I personally could not ... and you know opinions on a track really depend on the reviewer taste. It's not rare to see some tracks I rated 3/10 which are rated 6/10 by some of the jury members, so the description of what is good and what is wrong in them would be very different between our 2 versions. In case of someone wants to read some opinions about his track the best is still to ask that on the forum, like few guys already did.

Eclipse compilation (nearly as good as a Shpongle album), Ooze album :-)

I don't like Hux Flux stuff that much but the Live I saw some months ago was really good ! I think Hux Flux is much more enjoyable in a party than at home, which is not always true (Ex : Classical Mushroom).

Well VBR won't be disqualified, but, in case of there is an hesitation between a VBR and a NON-VBR track (ex : VBR ranked 19th, NON-VBR ranked 20th) then the NON-VBR will be the winner one.

I also think 96 Kbps stereo is enough to have an opinion about a track (good/average/bad)

Urrrgh indeed I already explained that ... briefly : 1) permits people with low bandwidth to dload more tracks 2) permits Inpsyde Media not to be afraid to release the future comp of winner tracks (-> "permits winners to be released by a label & become known in the scene via future DJ sets with their track & eventual bookings") as nobody will have the normal quality version of these tracks 3) takes less place on Aquagena's server

Forgot a point : the reduced jury member list will stay anonymous.

I think you resume well the situation, I don't think it's that important to make all people vote are we're not sure at all about the objectivity of these votes (IP cheating, people who ask their friends to vote for their track & so on). That's why we'll probably simply use this reduced jury. Other point : yes we will check all the winners in order to be sure all songs selected are not awfully produced, and then decide, between all members of the jury & the site members if we have to make some slight changes in these results or not.

??? Agalactia can't be at 192 kbps, the only one I received is at 96 kbps.

Some tracks are not encoded at 96 ? Seems I've forgotten to decrease their quality to 96 so. Could you say me whose ones ?

Well "i hate this style" or "i have to buy i" only written on a review are not positive nore negative comments, the first one means "I hate minimal so I hate this album", which is not very objective, and "I have to buy it" can mean the reviewer still didn't listen to it. In both cases these reviews give no argumentation about why he hates or likes it (cause I suppose he didn't wrote anything else that these words in his review) . So why keep it ? Very useless.
