I like it. Your music seems to have evolved from oldschool style (jungle hippie) to newschoool goa, including the better sound quality one would expect from newschool releases. So both the musical side and also sound things have gotten even better.... Hope to hear more melodic music from you in this style Digi

Fantastic track! Melodic and powerful, just the way it should be! Nice to see you're advancing.... i'd say with that song you've reached the level of serious music production, both in musical and sound issues..
-
Ok i like the track, but here is what i am missing: melodies that take a leading part. The way it is now it sounds melodic but superior goa always tells a story using melodies (my preference) or effects that glue everything together. In parts of the song there is that glue but in others its not. Like at 6:10 (of 9:27 if my player gets the length correct) there is just not enough there to keep me following the song. As for rule breaking i cannot see much of that, although i am a very strict old-stylist, so it seems to work with old-school ears digi

Ok i just listened through the myspace tracks again, it seems the old ones have disappeared.. and with those songs my favoite demo track has gone too, and it seems the tracks are getting less melodic anyway, Peyota Quota is a nice track, and cape quetzal too..
-
Nice track! Could be a little more melodic (with slow melodies in the background).... digi

Great music! Easy to listen, but still quite melodic... perfect for listening at work Digi

It seems you need to log in to download on this site.. that sucks Can you upload it to some free hoster?

Great mix! Lots of stuff i haven't heard yet.. Of course: Tracklist!!!!! Digi

This is what all goa fans ask themselves.. expecially the question: why do the artists of those days that still produce do psytrance and not goa anymore.. Digi
-
Well you should finish them in some way and put it up to download.. Would be sad if any of this great stuff gets lost.. Also I listened into the demo again and at 17:30 theres also a superfantastic sample! Digi

Supergreat demo!! Innovative, emotional, aggressive.. the way goa should be Also the sound quality is good.... Best part: around 7:00 Digi

V/A "Map Of Goa 2" ( YSE )
digitoxin replied to lolacafe's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
I totally agree wih snowball!! I always look into such Compilations just to find out its full-on . And full-on is NOT Goa. Goa is melodic and full-on is some kind of minimal-techno. I have been for 11 years in the scene now and the people i know also agree with this, and also get disappointed every time they look into a "goa" compilation to find out its not Goa. So please don't call those Compilations Goa when they are not. Digi -
Hello! About the Aerosis sucks thing: I must say i like Aerosis a lot, the first track was supergreat.. ...and i am not a person that is easily impressed. The music i like must reach quite a level of depth and intelligence, and Aerosis definitly does that. About the stealing thing: I don't think this should be a concern for anyone. There are so many remixes around, some that almost sound like the original just a harder beat ("psytrance version"?) so that has been done since the beginning of goa. And about "intelletcual property": I don't think anyone will get rich making goa (the only thing that can happen is that some people will be happy because they love the tracks..), so also from that point of view there should be no problems induced by copying. What i don't like about what is going on about releasing (not just Aerosis but true for some Artists) is that it seems there is music beeing hold back because it might be on an official album/compilation, which results in me not beeing able to listen to that music (at least for now) Of course, making half-finished songs available is also not the best way. The kind of sound quality problems your track has cannot be "mastered" to sound good. Its a problem of mixing the instruments. My guess is that you cannot hear how your music really sounds.. so the solution would be getting better speakers.. What Software do you use? maybe i can mix it for you next time Digi

Great mix.. i knew most tracks before, nevertheless i'm having the mix in my player for some days now.. also: electric snakes... hehehe Digi

Easy one... its Transwave - Rezwalker remix. There are much better Transwaves, get the albums Helium and Hypnorhythm -
I think the Khetzal album ist the best Goa album ever!! Bells of Sarnath is definitly the most complex goa ever made, and my personal all-time favorite. I also think that is so hard to beat that it might forever be the best goa ever. Also nice is Listening winds, Indian attic is nice at 6:30 and on with this incredibly emotional melody in the background. The other songs are ok. If you are a serios goa collector, this one is a must-buy. And if you don't like this album, you must be a full-on techno fan

I think its a little unmelodic. You should get Shakta - Earthrise at the next p2p net and take some inspiration from that song.

Whats wrong with the Lost Buddha track? The sound quality is so bad the real music is totally hidden between the noise and distorsion and superbad mixing In my opinion the Mindcrawlers song is the best, Lost buddha would be, but is unlistenable due to bad sound quality. All in all a nice compilation...

Great track! I am already listening to it for an hour now and i can't stop Especially in the last third, the theme is fantastic!

I wonder what happened to the "old-style Synsyn" sound. In 2001, i got some unreleased tracks, and from those, Quasar and Space Sirens was supersupersuperfantastic. The style seems to have changed, and i liked the old style better From the new tracks, i only like Forward Stream, a great song (which can keep up with the old-style tracks in my opinion).. .. of course it is great to see artists present their latest tracks anyway. Some tracks sound like there are just random notes, not melodies. But track is No. 4 is great, real melodies, agressive and fast, i like that one (except that is not a full-length song). No 2, the only full-length track is a little boring.
-
Not enough melodies and emotions for an oldstyle track. Some sounds are so sharp they hurt in the ear, so mixing is also bad....

New Track: Van Goa (oldschool goa)
digitoxin replied to Tempestuous G's topic in Free Music Promotion
I like it, you definitely have potential!! What i think is missing: One of those slow, very harmonic melodies in the background What i don't like: Sound quality is quite bad. Do you use HW synths? -
Hello! I am an Electric Engineer and a great Goatrance (old-style) fan. I'm not into making goa (well i'm just no artist) but have collected quite some experience when it comes sound stuff, like sound quality issues and related things (mostly from designing audio equipment). So much about myself, here is my offer: I noticed that amateur as well as pro goa makers are ruining their music by bad mixing or mastering. Since i like goa very much i am not pleased with that. The best example for ruined tracks is the Ethereal album. Filters on the bass that that delays it so the rhythm is destroyed (makes it nearly unlistenable) and an SNR of maybe 20dB (sounds like an old am-radio). So I want to help all artists that make old-style stuff in audio quality issues. If you want to know what could be made better in the tracks you created, discuss a specific property of sound or want some help in selecting studio equipment, just message me, icq or PM. I'm happy to help everyone in making quality releases, for people preparing a cd or just amateur artists. I'm not interested in psytrance (unless it reaches some melodic level) and definitly not new-style techno-like fullon so don't contact me if you do that kind of music. Also i cannot give you artistic advice since i am an engineer not an artist Digi
