  2. The name of Haltya has been familiar for years when speaking of the fresh and new forest trance sound from Finland. Now prepare yourself for even more funky and shiny ride as Haltya releases their third album Book Of Nature. Haltya ~ Book Of Nature Release date: 13th February 2008 Book of Nature is the 3rd album from the forest trance master Haltya. Ranging from floor filling party stompers (Mean Green Monster Theme) to sophisticated funky arrangements (Borboleta Purpura) this one is wrapped in a most imaginative cover art that reflects straight to the music. This Haltya album is produced by the multitalented producer Tommi Sirkiä alone. Haltya has a firm and solid fan base and Book of Nature will definitely not disappoint them. The two former albums (Forest Flavour & Electric Help Elves) were impressive but this one is taking Haltya to the next level of existence by being super groovy and diverse from the boring lo-fi crap that is sadly so common in the electric music scene these days. CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. Nature's Secret 2. Rainbow Funkster 3. Finny Funny Finished 4. Kawaii Bushido 5. Borboleta Purpura 6. Daisy Chain 7. Between The Notes 8. Mean Green Monster Theme 9. Firecracker 10. Make It Look Like An Accident 11. Fry 12. Mothership 13. Walking on Sunshine TRACK BY TRACK: Nature's Secret This masterfully tweaked vocal intro enthusiastically jumps you into the mood to enjoy this album to its maximum. Rainbow Funkster The first major track of this album lives up to its name... a groovy house bassbeat creates the current for bouncy layers of synth repetitions, licks, and loops which catch you into their rhythm without you noticing it. As fit for a blues club on Friday night as a foresty daytime dancefloor, this retro hippie jam trance makes a great warm-up eye opener. Finny Funny Finished "Finny" picks up the pace a bit yet retains that same "live" feel as its forbearer. This track takes a great analog sounding bassline, pairs it with some disco licks, a stomping four on the floor beat, and enough tweaky sound bites put in all the right places and whips it up into a squelchy dancefloor cacophony which really raises the energy level. Kawaii Bushido This short, abstract breakdown seems to suddenly snap your psyche into another plane for a few second, leaving your body in suspended animation. Borboleta Purpura This is tropical island trance from the get go, with moods of jumping beach parties, drinks with little straw hats, and exotic flowery sexuality spilling out in every direction. At the same time, subtle yet influential, are arrays of alien synth squirts expressing the very same emotions using vastly different mediums. This one grows on you in a big way. Daisy Chain Here's a slice of jazzy audio spice for you... Sexy bass percussion accompanies a catchy melody which lures you in and tugs your dance strings easily. A great outdoorsy track great for building up positive energy, with the addition of groovy old-school electric piano for an extra touch of retro groove. Between The Notes A minute long breakdown completely foreign to the moods between it jerk your attention without remorse to another plane and other perspectives. Mean Green Monster Theme Upon reawakening, you'll feel you're in a vastly different space. "Mean Green" has an epic intro paying tribute to B-movie horror before menacingly launching you into a disturbingly great nighttime trance beat. Glitchy and creepy to the max, the track takes this album from happy nighttime soundscapes to the eerie foresty darkness, and well done at that. Firecracker This track is a mind-boggler. Images of neon, video gamey Tokyo futurama come to mind as acid sliced synth static colludes with bit reduced square rhythms. Distended xylophones and other random audio chaos floats through the sound layers as everything you hear gradually becomes more and more nightmarish and twisted upon itself. Make It Look Like An Accident Another interlude blurs the images before your ears and teleports you again into a new interplanar audio environment. Fry This track of duelling bassbeats seems to be a Mexican standoff of New Orleans jazz maestros. Psychedelic and groovy, this is an electro rump shaker of a musical piece that could easily be performed onstage in smoky alleyway blues joints. A stellar danceable breakbeat holds it all together, constantly refreshing and moving the music along. Mothership This psychotropic trance track is a hit on all the intergalactic radio stations. Funky, fresh slap bass licks underlie cloudy layers of echoed synth sweeps and crisp, clear high-hats which vault the ceiling of the soundscape nicely. This track is a definite builder-upper, taking you to uncharted sectors of your mind upon the dancefloor. Walking on Sunshine Haltya takes all the best sounds of the seventies' discothèque and reworks them to a degree that can only be achieved through 21st century talent and technology. Here is a creation drawn from the past and the present, fused together to take the listener into their future. This music creates an alien space right here on Earth and lifts you into its clouds. 5. System 7 take their unique and personalized psychedelic techno style to a new and higher level on their album “PHOENIX” System 7 ~ Phoenix Release Date: 28th January 2008 System 7, the psychedelic conceptual electronic music artists whose one-of-a-kind sounds have already grabbed attention globally, are back again with a highly unique and cutting-edge album inspired by the Japanese "Phoenix" manga graphic novels. This music was written and arranged by the artists with the goal in mind to take its listeners through a musical time and space safari, and is very successful - each of these nine tracks is a progression through sound, never touching upon the same moods twice, and never finishing where it started. A video collaboration with Animatrix graphic artists Mu-°C Magic is also included on this album making it into a true multimedia masterpiece. Don't wait too long for that, though... this music is hot, fresh, on its own level, and is more than enough to keep your ears entertained right now. CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. HINOTORI 2. SPACE BIRD (collaboration with JAM EL MAR) 3. SCRAMBLE (collaboration with SLACK BABA) 4. MASATO ETERNITY (collaboration with JAM EL MAR) 5. SONG FOR THE PHOENIX 6. STRANGE BEINGS (collaboration with DAEVID ALLEN) 7. CHIHIRO 61298 (collaboration with SON KITE) 8. MAKIMURA - SPACE PILOT (collaboration with MITO) 9. WOLF-HEAD (collaboration with EAT STATIC) TRACK BY TRACK: HINOTORI Scintillating synths and soothing pads usher in a wave of upbeat four on the floor electronica sure to inspire smiles and bouncing heads. The steady marching percussion rhythms chug along to catchy guitar riffs and processed vocal effects. Overall this track is a fitting intro to the moods expressed in this album. SPACE BIRD (collaboration with JAM EL MAR) This Jam El Mar collaboration is a great dancefloor grind lying somewhere between deep and progressive house with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor flavours. Rising synth arpeggios and ethereal pads constantly raise your consciousness aloft as the music builds up and breaks down to an unexpected metamorphosis. SCRAMBLE (collaboration with SLACK BABA) An uptempo psy-trance inspired rocker influenced by Slackbaba is next. Having proven himself already in the downtempo genre, this track displays another facet of his creative diversity. Dripping, liquid synth delays and a meaty bassbeat all apply pressure to the dancefloor, while psychedelic background pads and noises are the binding agent. MASATO ETERNITY (collaboration with JAM EL MAR) A relaxing breather from this track's predecessor, "Eternity" is lush with Eastern atonal harmonics, old-school electronic waveforms, and an iced-over dubtastic beat that you can close your eyes and refresh your mind to. Native instruments and vocals fuse with modern electronica into a track that stretches the boundaries of time. SONG FOR THE PHOENIX A deceptive introduction paves the way for a slightly sinister, biomechanical breakbeat ensemble rife with tabla and multilayered basstones. A transitional track that doesn't end the way it starts, this one is perfect for listeners who like to be taken places through music and DJs wishing to bring their sets into new directions. STRANGE BEINGS (collaboration with DAEVID ALLEN) This Daevid Allen collaboration brings back a bit of the old-school Goa buttrock flavour to System 7's music with this track. Expect some heavy percussion and distorted synth leads along with slightly sinister vocal chants. Highly organic silence-splitting audio contortions and squelches fill out this one nicely, making for a trance track with something unique and different about it. CHIHIRO 61298 (collaboration with SON KITE) The legendary artist Son Kite lives on! Showing a creative spark that hasn't diminished in the slightest, his latest collaboration is a true odyssey of sound. From the void of calm ambient soundspace, layer after layer is added, turning this track into an abstract psycho-rocker propelling your feet and your mind across the dancefloor. MAKIMURA - SPACE PILOT (collaboration with MITO) This track is the essence of sexy downtempo breakbeat atmosphere. From the heavy, meaty percussion to the filter-saturated synthesizer rhythms to the wailing guitar leads, this one seems to take a bit of everything and rolls it together into a potion of groovy dancefloor annihilation, causing even the most stoic to loosen up and boogie. WOLF-HEAD (collaboration with EAT STATIC) Eat Static... a name that needs no introduction. This artist who has pioneered and created so much is back once again with a meat grinder of a track that will rock your socks off. Dirty, edgy and full of energy and groove, with slamming percussion and sickly twisted electro arrangements, combined with System 7, this music is a show-stopper. 10. PsyTropic Records is proud to present Miraculix latest work with the EP “Frost Bites” containing four previously unreleased smashing tracks and one remix by PsyNina. Miraculix ~ Frostbites EP Release date: OUT NOW ! Miraculix is Thomas Hammerstrom born in 1980 and comes from Sweden. It is massive, it is powerful, it is creative and innovative. So dare to feel the new Miraculix at its best with new and superclean produced tracks and twisted elements from another sphere intruding into your so-ordered life where you want to break out. Smashing at home, over your headphones and finally on the dancefloor to flip-out and become insane. Don’t tell us we didn’t warn you. Clickable Clips 1. Miraculix vs Trinodia - Supernatural 2. Miraculix vs Trinodia - Real Deal 3. Miraculix - The Reporter 4. Miraculix - Inspector Gadget 5. Miraculix vs Trinodia - Half Past Dead (Psynina Remix) Track by Track: Miraculix vs Trinodia – Supernatural Two of Sweden's hottest trance producers combine to create this track, a plump fruit of a groovalicious psy-trance arrangement. From the prominent, hilly bassline to thebenevolent pads, quared-off leads and dissonant bells, "Supernatural" is a vending machine of smiles and good energy, with a surprise twist of an emerging, winding buildup towards the end. This track has definite character. Miraculix vs Trinodia – Real Deal Trinodia and Miraculix butt heads again to produce a track with quite a different flavor than the last. Decidedly uptempo with that distinct "acidic alien" feel. The synth and pad atmospheres denote tones a touch toward the darker side, gradually growing more and more corrosive, while the percussion and bass sections do well to keep you on your feet. "Real Deal" is an especially evolutionary track. Miraculix – The Reporter Continuing down the spiral is "The Reporter", and one couldn't ask for a more fitting movement for the playlist! Miraculix gets you warmed up with some tweaked-out, effects-heavy percussion before bringing in some synth spaciousness, low and mean, from the ground up. The cherry on this sundae is the epic odyssey of a breakdown, spontaneous, unexpected with plenty of unusual unforseen sonic eddies. Miraculix – Inspector Gadget If you're the kind of trance fan who seeks music that goes where no music has gone before, look no further than "Inspector Gadget"! Miraculix is great at keeping the percussion extra fresh, adding everything from psychedelic synth squirts to jazzy organ hits to keep the danceability meters maxed and in the red. The result is obvious... music that identifies only with itself and removed from everything you thought was familiar. Miraculix vs Trinodia – Half Past Dead (Psynina Remix) This track features the influence of three creative minds... Brilliant trance artist Psynina remixes another Miraculix and Trinodia arrangement. "Half Past Dead" is anything but dead... the thick bassline alone makes you jump, with plenty of techy, robotic additions, from haunting string pads to carefully orchestrated rhythm layers, peppered with airy voice samples and glitchy effects. This one's a true gem. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Miraculix CD Release events. We can also offer PsyTropic Records Label party with acts ranging various styles... feel free to contact chemicus@gmx.com to discuss what’s on offer. 11. Vision Records takes you on a journey into the darker side of Psychedelia with 10 night time crunchers on their latest release. VA ~ Dark Side Of The Mind Release date: November 2007 From the exotic southern lands of South Africa over the past few years there has been a new sound of psychedelic trance emerging... a dark, feral, full-on sound that captures the primal essence of music, fused underneath the open night sky with nigh-futuristic, technological edges. Vision Records has embodied that sound, riding the forefront of this new wave of sound and spreading the ripples to avid listeners who have been gobbling up the music worldwide. Already with a sizeable handful of artist releases and compilations under their belt, Vision has been working tirelessly to analyze the best this music has to offer, and encapsulating it for their listeners and fans. Vision's latest compilation, "Dark Side of the Mind", is a paragon example of their dilligent efforts. Featuring ten amazing full-on psy-trance tracks by artists rich with both experience and potential, "Dark Side goes beyond the label's idiom with music that not only fills the shadowy seat of the soul but also offers influences everyone can enjoy. From veteran Zion Linguist's "Dr. Freakenstein" to "High in Disquise" by label owner Scam, all ten of these tracks are pure audio alchemy for full-moon dancefloor insanity! If you haven't heard the new sounds coming from Africa's ancient Horn, "Dark Side" couldn't be a better place to start. Tap in now to the trance music which will nurture the darker recesses of your psyche. CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. N.R.S vs Kode Six - Cluster Duster 2. Rubix Qube - Exhale 3. Kode Six - Process Reset 4. Gerasene - Syllable Lottery 5. Zion Linguist - Dr Freakenstien 6. Frozen Ghost - Ghost Meat 7. Hiyarant - Driven 8. Scam - High in Disguise 9. Technodrome - Gate for Hate 10. Tested Extension - Virginity TRACK BY TRACK: N.R.S vs Kode Six - Cluster Duster This fusion creation by Kode Six and NRS make for a rocker of an opener for this compilation. The bassline changes often enough to keep things interesting and sets a half dozen different tones throughout, with thick, wet sounding riffs and pads which really make you want to hold onto your butt. This one is a superb tone-setter for the rest of the album and ups the anticipation as well as the volume level. Rubix Qube - Exhale Alien, ethereal chatter and low frequency pad oscillations layer gaseously atop a low rumbling beat, while the rhythms rise up from the abyss below. "Exhale" certainly shocks the system into vigorous motion! Before this track is halfway done with you, the layers are piling as high as the energy level is rising... the synthwaves are flying fast and furious as this piece blossoms into a peak-hour neurotransmitter. Kode Six - Process Reset The beats and rhythms creep up on you like a night predator amidst a high-tide of electric pad waves. Low, rumbling synth riffs and a fleshy bassline provide the flooring for high ceilings of crisp percussion. This one is a journey, providing a main catchy current and building around and onto, then, after the well-timed breakdown, explodes its tension onto your ears like wet psychedelic spaghetti. Gerasene - Syllable Lottery "Syllable Lottery" is creepy and haunting from the outset, with a heavily tweaked intro, before suddenly launching into one of the grittiest, sinister trance beats out there! The bass us punchy and makes you dance right away as if by gunpoint. Evil synths with a touch of funky influence conspire to keep your body moving, and the addition and reduction of layers is suble and masterful with great tension and release. Zion Linguist - Dr Freakenstien Zion Linguist offers up yet another outstanding dosage of high-quality ear candy here! A thick, electro bass is the key behind all these great, yet highly unorthodox sounds, and the way it all works together shows testament to quality. From the hollow flutes to synthesized swamp creatures. Just what the doctor ordered. Frozen Ghost - Ghost Meat This fusion creation by Frozen Ghost makes for a rocker of a track. Full-on, uptempo madness greets you in the form of thumping basslines and maddening synth squirts, with delectably abstract percussion elements sprinkled throughout. This one is a superb track and ups the anticipation as well as the volume level. Hiyarant - Driven The only disappointment about this track is that it was born too late... "Driven" is a perfect summer outdoor acid thriller! Pitch bends and tempo adjustments skewer your neurons like fishhooks and whip you into dance-induced sweat frenzies. The synth work starts out menacing but before long evolve into relentless sound assaults powered by a diesel-fueled bassline, just the thing for trance floor antics. Scam - High in Disguise "High in Disguise" keeps things going. A powerful bassline provides a solid foundation for creepy pads and biomechanical loops of organic squelches. Contorted saw waves bite and snap at your knees and ankles like low frequency hellhounds. A vast and expansive breakdown only leads to an equally tense buildup, with the energy remaining high through to the last minute. Technodrome - Gate for Hate A bizarre, highly original intro offers only a moments preparation for the churning bass and hydraulic synth machinery to come. Excellent panorama applied to the echoed rhythms offer feelings of horizontal spaciousness even as the bass undertones throw you up and down. Indeed, the sound comes at you from all angles, even from behind, holding you hostage in its thrall. Tested Extension - Virginity "Virginity" is the audio equivalent of a psychedelic submarine ride under the sea. Pings and haunted melodies rise up from the abyss like audio hobgoblins. The bassline contorts and switches currents, changing the mood, while deliciously wet synth sounds slide through your senses and flip you upside down, around and back again before you can realize that it was all in your mind to begin with. "Virginity" keeps you tingly and vulnerable as if it were your first time again. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Dark Side CD Release events. We can also offer Vision Records Label party with acts ranging various styles... feel free to contact mark@visionrecords.co.uk to discuss what’s on offer. 12. Aussie label PsyPneumatix is back after almost 2 years with something special. This release will be an instant dancefloor mover and groover with elements of many genres to satisfy most tastes. VA ~ Hypersenses Release Date: 23rd November 2007 It couldn't be justified to say it any other way that "Hypersenses" is a heart-pounding, mood-rocking psy-trance musical masterpiece. Nine tracks of some of the rawest, most organic electronic trance music you've heard this year take you for a roller coaster ride though some of the most gripping, in-your-face soundscapes you've heard. From the malevolent "Pineapple Vitamins" to the full-on madness of "Passion" to the haunting, spooky rhythms and leads of "Fragile", each track is a work of art, and all you need to do is listen to convince yourself that trance music of this magnitude hasn't been heard before to this date, and is innovative, evocative, masterful, and way, way ahead of its time. CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. Bionic Empire - Big Bang 2. Bionic Empire - Pineapple Vitamins 3. Buffer Zone - Hypersenses 4. Syzmix - Passion 5. Syzmix - Brace Yourself 6. Syzmix - Light Side Of Heavy 7. Decibel - Delinquent Decibel 8. Psyboriginal - No Pussy 9. Terrafractyl - Fragile TRACK BY TRACK: Bionic Empire - Big Bang The opener of this eye-opening progressive psy-trance saga is an odyssey in an of itself. Wailing guitar riffs lay an atmospheric backdrop for organic, ping-ponging synths. The bassline is thick, chunky and very catchy... as with the rest of this album, this track really grows on you. Within two minutes "Big Bang" will have you by the seat of your pants, developing into a heavy, synapse-stinging psy-trance rocker. Bionic Empire - Pineapple Vitamins This track is dirty! Pulling no punches from the beginning, the bassline is stomping and the vocal mish-mash couldn't have been arranged any better. Plenty of evolutions, buildups and tweaks keep this one tense, sinister, and right up in your face. No loop is the same twice, each sound evolves into an overall face-twisting masterpiece fit for the hardiest of dancefloors. "Pineapple" delivers with the force of a wrecking ball. Buffer Zone - Hypersenses The flagship track of this superb album, "Hypersenses" hallmarks a bittersweet, spacious intro before launching you into a full-on progressive psy bassbeat. Nebulaic pads and echoing stabs impart serious feelings of forward motion! This one is an electrifier, propelling unwitting participants onto dance spaces with all the subtlety of a human cannonball. Thrashing synths and a monster bassline really amp up your mood. Syzmix - Passion An aptly named track for sure! Rumbling bass notes and a sharp kick really reorganize your brain waves, and the hollow, gothic synth pads and throbbing synth stabs build a thick psychoacoustic epidermis that beams you straight into the stratosphere. Every moment is a buildup and by the time "Passion" is halfway through, you'll be headbanging away to the carnal musical lust. This one will be well liked and well played. Syzmix - Brace Yourself Hold onto your butts! Vertigo-inducing synths bounce you about before the main bassbeat kicks in. The masterful synth work here plays your neurons like a cranial violin. The pitch-bending is simply amazing, and coupled with the myriad layers and gritty synth rhythm undertones, this track brings the heat to cold winter dancefloors. These sounds are twisted, writhing and take on lives of their own. Syzmix - Light Side Of Heavy This track is misleading... at first it warms up to you with an epic morning trance friendliness, and just when it has you trusting it, it shows you its kinky side... layer upon layer of pounding synths that beat on you relentlessly. The squelch is tweaked to the extreme, and sticks itself to you like some sort of hideously attractive parasite providing your guilty pleasures, and the only way to shake it off is to dance. Decibel - Delinquent Decibel This funky rocker is sexy... the bass slides under you like a greased up conveyor and each rhythm layer is highly filtered and engineered for maximum tension buildup. Bass ascension really twists your rope tighter than before, and highly corrosive synth work slices through your brain like cattle at the slaughterhouse. This one gets unpredictable and extra twisted by the end... get ready for a wild ride. Psyboriginal - No Pussy No Dancing A classic Psybo track here, familiar to fans of Digital Psionics and PsyPneumatix.A heavy bouncing bassline sets the tone for this dancefloor track. Another crowd pleaser that has been part of his live sets all through Europe, the UK, Costa Rica, New York, Dubai, Australia and Mexico with an electric response. This is a perfect showcase of Psyboriginal's dynamic style and dancefloor appeal. Terrafractyl - Fragile What a great way to end perhaps one of the rawest, most dust-pounding albums this year! "Fragile" is a slightly more uplifting, yet no less unrelenting, outro. Highly technical basslines are the substrates for strong foundations of contorted synth riffs that will leave you bored by anything thereafter. Subtle pitch bends make this one especially haunting, and these sounds will live inside you long after the track expires. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Hypersenses Release events. We can also offer Psypneumatix Records Label party, feel free to contact Joel at Psypneumatix Records to discuss what’s on offer. 14. Following up to their last artist release ‘Astroschnautzer’, Space Boogie continues the trend of releasing some of the freshest and funkiest trance out there. Troll Scientists ~ Useless Science Release date: November 2007 Upstart Finnish record label Space Boogie has been making quite a splash of worldwide psy-trance wavelengths for the past couple of years, and their fourth release, "Useless Science" by Troll Scientists is quite the outdoor Autumn stormer! Featuring ten amazing tracks with sounds ranging from the ambient dub-tempo spectrum to ultra-psychedelic mashups of old-school sounds thrust through 21st century music technology, and this duo has the skills and talent to back it all up! This music is feral and funky and will whip you up into frothing dancefloor frenzies. Featuring a tribute to one of psy-trance's greatest legends and a track collaboration with one of the hottest current talents out there, "Useless Science" is a must-listen; it's just what you need to get you through the long Autumn nights. Phone The Lab 30 Min Album Sampler HERE ! TRACK BY TRACK: Dumbient Troll Scientists' intro track consists of a funktastic dub bassbeat with folksy guitar accompaniment surrounded by atmospheric strata of scintillating, crystalline padding. Springy synths and shaker rhythms get you right into a bouncy, jovial mood. Major French Influences Inspired by psy-trance veteran Koxbox, "French" hits it right on the noggin. Sexy, old-school sounds combine together to create serious dancefloor swinging motion, in the true fashion of the legend. Kudos to the Trolls for this tribute masterpiece. Experience Jani and Steffan begin pouring on the cutting-edge sounds of the future here... "Experience" is born to be a twilight tune! Happy, bouncy riffs get sucked into black holes of spidery, haunting soundscapes held up by rocky, grinding bassnotes. Trollen Fest This track is seriously sexy! Spooky, lusty soundwaves break down your will and hold you in thrall... if the menacing bass or the acid-etched rhythms don't send you running for the hills first! "Trollen Fest" is going to be a big high-energy rocker this autumn. Brain Dead Like tentacles, these sounds slip in slowly, subtly. Then, bass hits you full-on, and grabs you up. The many layers of sound have a great tone and mood changing quality, a labyrinth of sound built for you to get lost in. "Brain Dead" will take you places... Time Trip This aptly named track has more twists and contortions than a pretzel seen through a kaleidoscope... sounds specifically designed to clash together and later mood combine with a many-headed bassline to keep you on your toes and moving to keep up. Hypnotised Scientists Jani and Staffan clash horns with Electrypnose to create a sinister, deeply dark track... great panning effects, a well-crafted bassbeat and percussion segment, and masterfully tweaked rhythm and leads spell out energy increasing waves of living sound. Vill Du La Luft The bassline drives this diesel-powered road hog of a trance track from the get-go... pads and liquid acid tweaks glide over the top of the sloping bass and rhythms as they change. The breakdown midway is superb and really adds a lot to the originality of this track. Fairy Tails Dueling basslines more felt than heard grab your attention right away, and you're off! "Fairy Tails" is heavily tribal, a touch more minimal and etheric, yet no less malevolent tan its fore bearers. This track is an eclectic addition to this great debut album. Phone The Lab It must be said right away that the bells percussion in this track is some of the most emotive, delicate sounds in the genre right now. That plus the rest of the track means that this one will stay in your rotation for some time to come. Simply brilliant... this is music with a message. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Troll Scientist CD Release events. 18. Nagual Sound Experiment Invisible movements CD Release Date: 28th September 2007 Liquid Records once again shows its brilliance and diversity with a new dubstep/glitch/hip-hop project by Cameron Leonard-Schroff, also know as Mood Deluxe. This debut NSE release shows once again the shattering of genre boundaries and leaves you with a refreshing look at the 'new breed' of producers. Nagual Sound Experiment, the downtempo project of pioneering psy-breaks artist Mood Deluxe, truly tests new musical waters with this exploratory and amorphous collection of tracks. "Invisible Movements" is released on one of the UK's finest new record labels, Liquid Records. NSE, or Cameron Leonard-Schroff, makes music his life, and this album encapsulates his energy perfectly... a whopping eighty minutes and fourteen audio compositions mean not a nano-second of space is wasted, every note a mote of meticulous effort, talent and planning. On top of NSE's knack for siphoning styles from every culture and time period of music conceivable, Cameron has the technical knowledge to back up his imagination... his considerable professional studio and teaching experience come into play to ensure nothing but top-notch sound enjoyment on this colossal album. Cameron AKA Nagual Sound Experiment AKA Mood Deluxe is making quite a world name for himself as an artist, and his latest album "Invisible Movements" only solidifies that reputation as a boundless entertainer and artist like none other before him. Hexorcism Track by Track Systema (Coopers Theme) Gloomy piano and a swing-beat duo of kicks and hi-hats are the stitchwork for a creatively sinister amalgam of glitch, urban hip-hop and reggae. Featuring sultry vocal stylings of Lisa Wadham, NSE's "Systema" is a relaxing, emotive storyline in itself and sets a great example of what lies ahead. Bad Breed Nagual Sound Experiment has quite a talent for taking seemingly unrelated bits of world culture and fusing it into something which sounds impressively groovy. Listen to "Bad Breed" and you will understand right away! The basslines are phat, retro and well-planned and are a great synth additive to busy soundscapes which may make you rewind a few times. Frontier A heart-throbber of a track, "Frontier Dub" is an inevitable advancing wall of resonant bass and string vibrations more felt than heard.... and somewhere in the thick of it all, Indian flutes and distorted voice transmissions. This piece literally fills up your room and your head. NSE gives you a track meant to be heard loudly... this tune carries a huge presence. Zorastafari Intriguingly named, this track opens with a minimal two-step bassbeat amid animal swallowing sounds. A bit of reggae thrown in, with some glassy synth twangs, herald filtered vocal rhymes. NSE manipulates sound at the atomic level in "Zorastafari", making your reality feel held together by giant cosmic zippers. Introducing If music is your ideal life-support system, "Introducing" is right for you! With bass warm and low, friendly guitar licks and vocals, your vibe is kept alive. Very slow and electro-tribal, "Introducing" brings ancient and modern music together into a great fusion trip-hop piece. Both the light and dark elements have their movements here. Do I Move You? This chilled-out lowrider of a track inspires subliminal head nodding. NSE allows enough space for plenty of synth and sample content, thoroughly tweaked out to his especially high standard. Dancehall reverbed percussion and meaty bass deliver the club to your bedroom... recommended for strong stereo systems. Anti Spiral (NSE vs EMS) Urban, abstract and ultra-techy, “Anti Spiral" brings a jazzy horn section, expansive bass curtains and a serious hard-step glitch beat together, putting cultural notions into a new light. Punchy, mean and heavily tweaked, this collab with Liquid Records Djems shows both their musical skills in a great fusion. Babylon Tenebrous bass and ultra-metallic percussion makes for an abstruse stomper of a track... yet another piece by NSE that refuses to be molded by genre descriptions. This track busts borders between hemispheres and times and brings it to you according to a fast and furious bedrock of bass and slamming beats. Forward (NSE vs Ital Roots Players) "Forward" is a touch more benevolent than the previous few tracks... positive messages conveyed through arrangements of beat distortions and synth expectorations! Guitars and vocals flavour this piece with wonderful human element while NSE adds the fuel of a veritable feast of musical food for the super-conscious. The Special Button This track is a gaseous, dubby musical taxicab to the astral plane! Tasty guitar licks by Jeremy Levitzky and melodies provided by MoiRama lead to you into a deception of tranquillity before the crisp, dance-ready drums and bass are thrown at you. Extra-dimensional wildlife undergoes alien rituals in the background... a truly one-of-a-kind track. Supanova - by Manasseh meets Brotha Culture (NSE remix) This track is a jovial psychedelic journey through rootsy electro-dub. Fresh vocals by Brotha Culture add flavour and story to this piece, and all-organic bass and percussion keep a steady, danceable rhythm. Funky guitar licks duet against pitched out synths and background horns, all masterfully produced and arranged by NSE. Three Gold Stripes Perhaps one of the most experimental and haunting on this already genre-defying album, this groove is slow and industrial with heavily breathing bass. The noises are myriad and multitudinal, and all perfectly timed and placed to coincide with vertical head motions! This piece chills you out and leaves hair standing on your neck all at once. The White Lodge (Interlude) Black Lodge Dub "Black Lodge Dub" has some serious breakbeat rhythm, sultry vocals and ragga guitar, while the ever evolving bassline takes on a life of its own! Fans of the band "Korn" with a discerning ear will be pleased to hear this one, at times meant for the cocktail club and at others, the mosh pit. A serious example of brilliant genre fusion at work. Hexorcism NSE ends off this stunning 80-minute album with some trance-and-bass from the Far East... thick trance waves and angelic signing hearken back to San Francisco warehouse parties, while Indian instruments add the atonality and dissonance to make "Hexorcism" a track that never gets boring. A great track used to end this ingenious album on a happy, heady note. Reviews 'Awesome grimey dubstep with a psychedlic backbone, a much needed leftfield electronica album' Psyreviews 'Technically gifted and incredibly-crafted music, this is a true gem' Revolve Mag 'Cohesive yet strangely ethereal dub-infused beats n' breaks' BPM Mag 'Fresh, unique and interesting, a drippingly tasty treat of original music' KPSU Radio, USA 'An album that will resonate long into the coming years' Upfront Mag 'A fantastic album, it's all about the B-line' BBC Asain Network 'Eighty minutes of genre bending electronic experimentation, mind-altering, evocative and heady soundscapes' Toxic Pete 'Profound pulsations of reggae and dubbed up moody beats, snaking basslines, brooding hip hop and globally charged psy fusions, a solid project' iDJ Mag 'A wonderfull and introspective downtempo album swamped in reverb and dubby fx, this album fuses electronic and live elements perfectly' Knowledge Mag ** Read the full reviews here ** Exclusive worldwide distribution through Arabesque | www.arabesque.co.uk | mark.bedford@arab.co.uk | Related Links Related Links: NSE | www.triskelemanagement.com/nagualsoundexperiment | NSE on MySpace | www.myspace.com/nseliquid | Liquid Records | www.liquid-records.com |
  19. Spectacularly combining electric viola with digital and Analog technologies, producing the distinctly organic and free form Terra Nine sound, with an aural palette ranging from chilled ambience to breaks and beyond. Terra Nine ~ Strange Craft Release date: 29th June 2007 New Zealand based Terra Nine, aka Michael Westcot, is hardly your typical digital artist. He draws upon his mesmeric ability as a violinist to produce the ultimate synergy of lush organic strings and groovy, chilled electronic beats. Westcot’s sweeping, panoramic musical vision and startling technique set him apart from the droves of computer geek number crunchers releasing generic, inter changeable tunes. A latter day cyber Mozart he demands to be taken seriously and listened to repeatedly. His releases span labels such as Psy Harmonics, Cosmicleaf, Ajana, ZYX, Green Ant, and Tempest Recordings. His live performances have stunned audiences throughout Australasia, and an incursion into Europe is due soon. “Strange Craft” is the fourth album from this talented artist, and for the first time Westcot presents the ambient/ downtempo sounds which have made him a favourite of the chill spaces. Featured in collaboration are Hesius Dome (PsyHarmonics), Arcane Trickster (Tempest), Side Liner (Cosmicleaf) & The Omm Squad (Tempest). CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. Interluded 2. Circlemaker (Hesius Dome Vs Arcane Trickster Album Mix) 3. Pearl 4. Brain (Side Liner Remix) 5. Temple 6. Momentary 7. Raj 8. Synchro 9. Ancestors 10. Promise 11. Axiom (The Omm Squad in Dub Remix) TRACK BY TRACK: Interluded The opener track to this stellar downtempo album highlights gossamer pads and scintillating dewdrop synths forming relaxing tonal layers and soft musical scales. Perfect for lowering your heartrate and brainwaves, this one really sinks you into the mood to repose and enjoy this music to its max. Circlemaker (Hesius Dome Vs Arcane Trickster Album Mix) Picking up precisely where its predecessor left off, the pads evolve, mutate, and expand. Some groovy tribal drums kick in for filtered tribal goodness, with a touch of classic Pink Floyd and reggae which gives you something to analyze while the rest of your perceptions drift away on ethereal violin strings. Pearl This track represents mideastern inspired electronica at its finest... Combinations of synth strings and percussion are your snake charmers here amongst a soundscape quantized by intricate, unobtrusive precussion arrangements, which take you to another world both human and alien. Brain (Side Liner Remix) This breaksy track emphasizes its drums and bass and keeps the tones and melodies simple and delicate. Happiness-evoking synth pads fit in nicely with the chilled out breaksline, making for a bittersweet atmosphere of general good vibes with a touch of lonely humanistic longing. Temple Terra Nine flips the coin on us here. Contrasting the audio optimism of the last with a dark underbelly of slightly sinister soundscapes, this piece consists of acidic synths and dissonant chords and scales. The abundant pad layers and edgy drum lines really make this one work. Momentary "Strange Craft" diversifies itself even further with an abstract, IDM-esque approach to the drum segments. these in turn lay the foundations for backdrops of organic tones which wash about your senses and give you a sort of otherworldly-swamp-at-twilight vibe... a very intriguing approach. Raj The drums make a turn towards simplism here, making room for the appearance of vocal chanting and carefully manipulated strings-based soundworks caught imperceptibly between the organic and digital realms. Overall a highly ethnic, uplifting track which is very soothing on the senses. Synchro This one is surprising! Stepping away from the moods set earlier, this piece waxes urban and futuristic, and does it with class and ease. The drums are crisp and clean, and a duet of rhythm synth and effected guitar paints an audio panorama depicting dancing feet and smiling souls. Ancestors This dubtastic track takes you on a formless global journey with elements of music inspired by every continent. Between the trance inspiring didjeridoo backdrops and delayed guitar all pulled along by a thick bass undertow, this one quiets the pulse and excites the neurons masterfully. Promise A highly appealing melodic riff and softspoken drums engage your senses and vehicle an audio safari to parts unknown... expect to encounter anomalous alien wildlife nesting within these soundwaves; the moods and textures are more rich and diverse than a virgin rainforest of sound. Axiom (The Omm Squad in Dub Remix) Terra Nine wraps up this colorfully heterogeneous collection of masterfull chillout tracks on a strong note... this epiphany inspiring piece takes some from dub-electro and fuses it with pioneering synth melodies and gender-spanning intonations geared straight for tickling those mental delta rays. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Terra Nine CD Release events. 20. 9 tracks in a variety of psychedelic downtempo styles ranging from dub to ethnotechno by San Francisco artist Outersect. Outersect ~ Caldera Release date: 24th August 2007 Outersect (Rob Rayle) has immersed himself in the Psy/Chill scene of San Fransico for over a decade. His worldwide debut solo album, "Caldera" reflects his many experiences, lessons and involvements. Rob has released tracks on many labels including Ceiba of San Fran, Hadshot of Germany and Edgecore of Australia, and has engineered several of Goa Gil's mix CDs. To describe his music as "downtempo electronica" would be using the term loosely... "Caldera" is as organic, emotive and poetic as a shed tear of joy. A spiritually motivated album featuring collaborations with many brilliant instrumentalists and vocalists combined with his own sound manipulation mastery, "Caldera" is Outersect's intuitive and accomplished attempt to reach out to people using spiritual psychedelic music and to help them move towards a higher understanding. CLICK BELOW FOR SOUND SAMPLES 1. Dil La Liya 2. Light Universe 3. Litany 4. All Eyes 5. Ayesha 6. La Ilaha Il Allah 7. Empty Arrow 8. Seismic Weasle (Outersect Mix) 9. Bliss Ma (Outersect Mix) TRACK BY TRACK: Dil La Liya Outersect introduces his musical magic carpet ride with brilliant atonal synth strings and an intricate, masterful percussion segment which calms and lifts the mind from the outset. Accompanied by gifted violinist and environmental activist Briana Waters and Punjabi wordplay, Dil La Liya is gripping, emotive and laced with bittersweetness. Light Universe Bouyant, sanguine drum segments form the cobblestones of this bouncy dancescape while brilliant synth pads branching into happy melodies provide vaulted ceilings and walls of sound. "Light Universe" plays out nicely and smooth... a musical metaphor, this track features subtly dark sounds and elements and provokes them to show their inner positivity. Litany Inspired by a chant to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, this amazing track features heavily detailed synths, great superconscious rhythms and inimically altered vocals. This track exudes spirituality and soul, all to an especially groovy beat you can dance to! All Eyes Sultry female vocalist Satsumi accompanies Outersect's ingenious arrangements in this piece, a aort of tribalesque dub-fusion with a dash of Arabia for ethnic, worldly flavor! From the vocals to the highly tweaked synths and rhythms, this track is organic, groovalicious and psychedelic all rolled into one, and deservedly had landed play time, in the popular indie film "Beauty 24". Ayesha The last child bride of the Prophet of Islam lends her name to this Eastern-influenced track. Shakuhachi flute, hand-driven percussion ensembles and airy, floating vocals by Betsy Cardis all compliment Outersect's impressive synth prowess here creating a real chilled-out groover that opens up worlds behind closed eyelids. La Ilaha Il Allah Downtempo bassbreaks and a bouncy, filtered synth rhythm add undertones of funk to tension-building electronic assonance. Briana Waters makes another stellar appearance with her gypsy-esque violin sounds. The distinct Mediterranean feel of this track will make bellydancers out of the most stoic and impassive of souls! Empty Arrow Traditional Arabic instruments, scales, and vocal styles create fields of atonal dissasociativeness, helping to loosen those annoying preconcieved notions and perceptions of yours. A wonderful mind-relaxer, this musical meditation inducer is full of dissonance and more hypnotic than an army of Moroccan snake charmers! Seismic Weasle (Outersect Mix) This track moves closer to the middle of the dancefloor, with thick breaks as the foundation for funky saw waves and chunky bass. Layers of vision-inducing synth salivations your feet can easily relate to flow atop. From the beat on up, each aspect of sound is meaty, heavy and clean and adds spice to the breakbeat lover's playlist. Bliss Ma (Outersect Mix) A pleasant outro to a standout chillout album, "Bliss Ma" reflects upon Outersect's experiences within magical California forests... with vocals by the group Kali's Angels amidst gently pupating digital sounds and easy, relaxing hand drumming, "Bliss Ma" is perfectly pure chillage, cozy, palatial, earthy, and at the end returning you softly back to sensory reality. Hidden Signs 3. Mystic Machine 4. Sarah Tonin 5. Spaceshifter 6. Funky Kanguru 7. Do It 8. Outer Body 9. Electromatic 10. Dusty Lizard TRACK BY TRACK: Crazy on Chocolate Rastalien's opening track introduces itself with a funky synth rhytm before launching itself into the main beat. Before long, pads and percusssion fill up the audioscape and they layers really begin to get twisted! By three minutes, "Crazy" is a complete psy-trance track, rife with contorted beats, eerie children's voices, and a staccato acid lead which jackhammers your synapses. Expect more bends and turns in this ever-evolving track than a country mountain backroad. Hidden Signs "Signs" features a funkadelic bassbeat launching you into a safari of sound environments... intricately gated synth spits and retro, squared-off rhythms make headway for filtered drums and nomadic pads which seem neither here nor there. Refreshingly, the bassline reinvents itself every couple of measures, laying an excellent foundation for the myriad mood changes his track offers. At once catchily funky, others downright spooky, "Signs" is at all times energetic and exciting. Mystic Machine "Mystic" is feral, born to be heard outdoors... the echoed, reverbed effects and cosmic nature of the pads lends itself well to the wilderness trance fest atmosphere. Full on to the max with subtle tributes to the genre's roots, this track is a nighttime rocker which will definitely find itself in many a DJ's mixset this year. Eastern Indian scales combine with acid-drenched, razor sharp synth saws to create an epiphanic dance opportunity... "Mystic" makes a great capacitor for keeping the trance energy high. Sarah Tonin This track is markedly different in flavor and spectrum than it's predecessor, but certainly no less well produced and enjoyable... "Sarah" bounces you along like a game of jump-rope hopscotch, and the slightly lowered tempo of the track lends space and time to enjoy the strata of tweaked out, metamorphosing sounds the Rastaliens manage to squeeze in. From measure to measure and loop to loop, nothing remains the same... every sound bite is unique and masterfully tailored to progression. Spaceshifter This track is simply great, and all the elements are here... full-on acid leads echoing out into the cosmos, gritty, grinding low rhythms and a full-on bass and percussion section make this piece fitting for the peak hours of the night! By about halfway through this one gets downright sinister and haunting in its melody; an inimical, alien soundverse delivering ego-crushing soundwaves and enough audio amplitude to feed the needs of your expanding conscious awareness. Funky Kanguruh An aberrant hybridization of wet, elastic squelches and earthy, tribal percussion grooves are slathered across a meaty, grinding bassline here.... "Kanguruh" is a tech-tastic cacophany of nead-nod-inspiring electronic arrangements spanning the gamut of oscillation and effects. This piece has a high danceability potential and just the right amount of flavor to be terrifically psychedelic, retro and down-to-earth at the same time... each sound is masterfully crafted and no part of the track is overdone. Do It This track has taken a step towards the dark side, and isn't shy to admit it... Baleful synth frequencies slice into your perceptions with the precision of a mad scientist! The breakdowns are small-ish and portentious, giving you only a moment of breath before turning up the juice a notch higher every time. Nothing gets boring here... in true Rastaliens style, the bassline is ever-changing... by the end the mood is completely differnent than the start. Outer Body Aptly named, "Outer Body" takes your senses to unintelligible planes of perception. The bassbeat is fast, full-on, and in your face... Acidulous leads ping-pong pack and forth between your eardrums, while atonal pad layerings add mood, dissonance and acceleration to the environment. The progression has more twists and turns than a pretzel-shaped wormhole, and it all works together to create an ballsy psy-trance track that is cutting-edge, groovy, foot stomping insanity. Electromatic Rastaliens shows off the true spectrum of their talent here... highly melodic, ethereal, and full of harmony with a decidedly faster tempo, "Electromatic" makes full use of the musical scales while also adding its own notes in between. The moods of a slightly epic direction is spiced with enough dissonance to keep you floating amongst the clouds of a cracked heaven. Perfect for those morning winding-down transitional sets, this piece is all about full-on relaxation. Dusty Lizard Alas, every great summertime rocker of an album deserved its own downtempo trck at the end, and "Dusty Lizard" is just that... a cybernetic arrangement of psychedelically filtered percussive drops and melodies which bustle over each other like blind pups searching for the teat. Some electro-guitarish synth parts add roughness around the edges while the arpeggios flower and branch off into unexpected directions. "Dusty" is a great outro trck for this amazing album, adding a perfect amount of closure to the moods thus expressed. We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Rastaliens CD Release events.
