A boring bassline with other atmospheric sounds and leads around it, can indeed sound very cool.... It all depends how much you want the track to evolve around the bass or the maintheme... or if the bass IS the maintheme KBBBKBBBKBBBKBBB CAN sound pretty cool!

still sounds Engrish to me.... "We twist dreams" or whatever makes sense, just "Twist Dreams" sounds weird, and engrish... Twist Dreams! however is driffrent, but still also sounds wrong... im sorry, I cant help that I dont like the name of the VA... I like everythnig else, and that is what counts no?!

well, I dont have money, and I dont even know the radio station, but asking on this forum for money is the wrong "audience" I think. Why doesnt the guy ask some other people instead? If he has FOUR HUNDRED listeners all the time, and he can prove that, then I am sure that there would be SOME company that would like to have the exposure..... and please dont ask me who that could be.... So, because its Disk Jockey, then you have to use disks.... if that is so, then fuck me, and I am no longer a dj. From now on, I am simply a person that plays music for people at parties... (No offense RTP) I dont agree with the argument at all. Its like saying that because GOA trance has changed so much since the 90s you cant call it GOA anymore. And because ROCK no longer sounds like it did in the 50s you cant call it ROCK.... I know there are subgenres of things and so on on so forth, but being a dj is not being something that the name stands for or what it means, its the C O N C E P T.... Playing and mixing music for other people that want to dance or to just simply listen and enjoy the journey. Like Is said in the previous post, Conservatism will not help this scene to move forward (and I dont mean the Psy scene ) New thinking people help this scene.. and no other than those people are helping it. Well, and those who invest in those visionaries.... Enough about my rant, I am not going to try and convince anyone... I dont agree with you, being a dj means being inventive and looking forward (FOR ME). Look at R Hawtin, Look at Martinez, look at so many others of the good djs... Thinking that CD's and vinyls is the only way to spin, is very conservative and boring IMO...

Yes, the dj should avoid that, but I think that a live act that does the same live act over and over again, is a boring liveact! I want to hear diffrences, improvements, new ideas, etc etc. I know many live acts that do a new revision for each party, and I think that really is R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Whatever the dj uses, if he does a good job, doesnt matter, does it? I am actually playing around a little bit with Traktor, and I must say I like it more and more. Someone said, Yeah but it calculates the BPM for you and everything... well Newsflash, most of the sophisticated mixers and cd players out there do as well! I dont know, but sometimes we need to follow and adjust. Someone said years ago, that vinyls will never die.... but I think they will (Sadly enough) in the end! There is no Market anymore.... And lets face it, as a dj, I hate to carry cds and heavy vinyl with me... I think if I could actually maneuver the laptop the same way that I maneuver a mixer (there is this new mixer yes I know...) then I would probably change.... Imagine coming to a gig, all that you have is a dvd with all your tracks, and then you put that in the computer at hand, and off you go.... The FUTURE!

Well, artists that normally are also djs, in GENERAL suck as djs, and ruin the whole thing when they are playing (See Raja Ram etc etc...). Now If they started as Djs, its another thing normally... But I say like Wiz, I dont think you have ever heard a real good djset, or experienced people like Anti, Digweed, R. Hawtin or Sven Vaeth.... If you would, you would never have done such a statement as the above But thats ok, now you have something to look forward to
