  1. I just spent the last hour or so simulating a distortion-measuring circuit, only to get bored and quit before I made sense of the results. Beer is not conducive to doing useful things. :|
  2. Well NHJO occupies his own little universe, free from the repressive constraints of this one!
  3. I sampled the sound of my juicer because I noticed it had a definite tone and I thought I could put it in a sampler and play a melody with it. It didn't work out too well, but that would probably be a rare sample!
  4. All of my favorites are originals. Not that I necessarily like originals better than remixes, I just mean my favorite songs usually haven't been remixed by anyone. But remixes can be better because the remixer has a foundation already there that they only have to modify. A remixed song is generally going to be one that already has something good going for it, because who would want to remix a crappy song? So there's already a certain level of quality to the song, and it can be easier to fine-tune something for better quality than to make that level of quality from scratch.
  5. ^ I love that show! I'm waiting, rather impatiently, for Season 4 to be available on Netflix.
  6. I thought it was weird that neither Hallucinogen nor Astral Projection were under Goa, but they were both under Psychedelic Trance.
  7. I think there are ways of recording from one program to another within the computer, but the couple times I've done this I found it easiest to just run the audio out of my interface, through a cable, and back into the interface to record to the DAW. In my computer, when my audio interface is on, the computer's audio (output from non-DAW programs) is assigned to a specific output channel, so I just set my DAW to record from some particular input and ran a cable to connect them. Sure, there's some unnecessary conversion going on, but it didn't make any real difference.
  8. But on the other hand, facing forward gets you the best sound from the speakers! Personally I don't go to enough parties, and especially not big enough ones, for this to matter to me. Where I live there are no DJ stars, and parties are a few dozen people at most.
  9. Your restriction to just Psyshop puts a bit of a damper on possible suggestions. I'd probably suggest something from Zion 604 Records, but they're not available on Psyshop. I'll assume you mean music that is new since 2010, otherwise I'd suggest Etnica Live in Athens 1996. So my suggestion is: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/crm/crm1cd005.html I'll also mention this as a freebie suggestion, because you don't have to pay for it: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/blackstarrfinale-auryn
  10. If you're looking for something drum-specific, and aren't against software, check out Sonic Charge Micro Tonic. I use it and it's a totally awesome drum synth. It has no sample capabilities though, it's just a synth.
  11. It's new to me, but I like the first two a lot!
  12. I just use my Poly Evolver Keyboard for playing. It's got good action, but for knob twiddling of other synths' parameters I have to use my M-Audio Oxygen8. Shitty for playing, but fine for knobs. Also an APC40 for Live, but so far I just use it to launch clips, not much for synth controlling. That Pro 2 looks interesting, I hadn't heard about it.
  13. Ah hah! You've hit upon the secret of the goa masters! I shall now learn India language!
  14. I just watched the new X-Men movie the other day. It's great! I think I like it more than the first 3. It's rather darker.
  15. It's got a similar sound to Colossus, but a bit more aggressive in the drums. I found the bass to be kind of a wash of low frequencies, not really an upfront bassline. But I only listened to it in my car today, so I'll have to get another opinion on some other system.
  16. ^ I've got "The Science of Acid" by those guys. Pretty good.
  17. This from the guy who has posted the same things for years. Even this thread is a repeat of your own past threads.
  18. I'll bet they have them conveniently for sale though...
  19. In a theater or does streaming also count? The other day I watched (partly) Machete Kills. It started out pretty good, like the first one but even more silly, but as soon as Mel Gibson showed up it went off the deep end. I couldn't even finish it. Last movie I saw in a theater was the Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Not bad, but nothing much to say about it.
  20. How do you take a long exposure of something that takes less than a second to occur?
  21. Astral Projection featuring Radi - There'd be a behind-the-scenes video with Radi berating them "it's not Astral enough!" X-Dream and Koxbox - X-Dream did a remix of a Koxbox song, which I like better than the original. A true collaboration could be good.
