  1. Making another deposit to the First National Bank of Liver Failure.
  2. A sync sound is where one oscillator's waveshape generation is reset by another oscillator; that is, 'synchronized' with the second oscillator. So the frequency of the resulting sound is determined by the master oscillator, but the tonal character is determined by the slave oscillator. Here's a good in-depth explanation: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Nov02/articles/synthsecrets1102.asp
  3. I don't know if it's THAT much like what you posted, but Cybernetika's Colossus has some trance influences in it.
  4. ^ If you're using Winamp, you must be using Windows, right? I've heard a lot of people complain about iTunes on Windows, but never on Mac.

But sorbet isn't ice cream. It's sorbet. It doesn't contain cream.
  6. I get pretty irritated at certain things that happen when using a computer: - Clicking the 'X' to close a browser tab, but it can take up to 15 seconds or so to actually close. This seems to happen when there's a lot of Flash or some other kind of script going on in the background. I don't know if it has anything to do with my old computer or not, but for fuck's sake why can't they code browsers to stop running that shit when you tell it to stop running! - Kind of the same thing, but iTunes sometimes doesn't close when I tell it to. I Command-Q to quit it, go do something else for a while, then either I put my cursor back to the dock to go to some other program or it goes there accidentally, and I notice iTunes is still active. I'm not a software writer so I don't know how all the multitude of processes work in modern PC operating systems, but common sense tells me that the main program must have various subroutines which it controls. And common sense tells me that if you initiate a "close program/routine" function, it should fucking do that!

Oh, wow, I just checked their website and Magic Brownies wasn't even on it! I could see how maybe they'd want to get away from the cannabis reference, of if DMB no longer wanted their name used, but you'd think they'd just give it another name. Maybe it wasn't a big seller. Too bad. Personally I hate Dave Matthews Band, but it was an awesome ice cream! I don't like Phish either, but I never bothered to try Phish Food because the idea of marshmallows in ice cream seemed too weird.
  8. I'd say you can include it as both uptempo and downtempo. I can go back and check the 2008 poll to see how people dealt with Opus Iridium, but I bet it was like that.
  9. I included the Crop Circles EPs in my own votes, so I'm definitely on the pro side. Unless we explicitly state that they're not not allowed, the solid answer is that they are. Anyone can of course choose to exclude re-releases if they wish. Personally, I hadn't heard all of the songs/versions of the songs on the Crop Circles EPs until I got the re-releases, so they were kind of like new releases to me.

I miss ice cream. Ben & Jerry's "Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies" is the best ice cream I've ever had. Unfortunately I can't really eat ice cream anymore, unless I want to get intimately acquainted with my toilet.

I concur, though partially. I'm not a fan of stinky, pungent cheeses.
  12. Oh man, this has to be the best one: I have to admit to having a thing for that Annie Lennox 'do.
  13. It's funny: there's lots of pop songs I've heard lots of times, but most of them I don't know the name of the artists. Apparently that's the case here too. When I saw the thread I thought "who the fuck is Roxette?" But I've heard 2 of the songs above, and right now I'm listening to another, "It Must Have Been Love". Shit yeah, I've heard these! Probably once a week on the radio when I was 14! Of course, back then I couldn't admit I liked it.

...citrus. Limes, lemons, oranges. I like the smell, I like the taste, I like pretty much everything about citrus. Except for grapefruit. It's a genetic throwback that should be eliminated with extreme predjudice. Except, of course, as a flavoring for Squirt.
  15. Shit, I hope I can make this! Kind of doubtful though.
  16. Mid-week I get 4-6, not because I don't have the time but just because I simply don't go to bed when I should. I usually get 8 on the weekends.
  17. Oh yeah, how could I forget Tetris?!
  18. I certainly don't wish I slept 12 hours a day. Such a waste of time. I do, however, wish I slept a proper 8 hours.
  19. You sleep 12 hours a day?
  20. Procrastinating. I have some Arduino coding to do, and it just sounds terribly boring.
  21. Oh, you're looking for a particular song? I thought you were asking for similar suggestions.
  22. When I had some (small) trouble with ants, I laid out lines of salt. I'd read that the salt crystals had sharp edges that, like diatomaceous earth, was damaging to ants' legs, so they would be reluctant to cross it. The ants stopped coming, but they weren't a huge horde to begin with so I can't say the salt was a magical cure or anything.
