  1. Funny you mention that, I was just trying to look for it a few days ago. But the search function only goes back to a certain date which was after my join date. How'd you find yours?
  2. 21 is the age to drink alcohol, 18 is the age of majority. Often people putting on parties or various other kinds of events will make them 18+ because then they don't have to worry about being responsible. If an underage kid were there and got into trouble, the organizer could get into trouble for endangering the welfare of a child, but at 18, the attendees are responsible for themselves.
  3. I thought this thread was going to be about actual crying sounds in the music, and I thought "who the hell would put crying in trance?"
  4. Not necessarily where someone was born, but perhaps where they were raised (if they're different places), would have an effect. As well as where one lives at the time they make the music.
  5. I don't use arpeggios. Seems to me like letting someone at a synth maker write part of your song. Plus I don't think any of mine have arpeggios. Maybe a couple of the software ones, but I haven't looked.
  6. Radi, when other people start threads that don't go anywhere, they generally shrug and say "oh well". You berate people for not replying, or not replying in the way you want. Don't wonder why people get annoyed.
  7. It did that for me too, but after I logged into Soundcloud it went to the page automatically.
  8. Not to mention that psytrance has grown up in the internet age, when we can easily share things across international boundaries, whereas folk music generally grew up in isolation.
  9. Although apparently they get shit on by birds.
  10. Assuming 'good' examples of each (good in my opinion): 1. Old school / New school goa 2. Full on / non-goa, non-dark psy 3. Goambient / psybient / downtempo 4. Suomi 5. Dark / Twilight / Forest 6. Progressive
  11. No, sorry, I hardly ever get sick. I get a mild cold about once every year or two.

  13. Don't you guys realize that all music, at some point, is referred to by the music that influenced it? It's a way for people who are just reading/hearing words instead of hearing the music to get some idea of what it sounds like. It's a mistake to think an artist would only mention their influence's names to capitalize on it.
  14. Weird. A friend of mine once told me of a dream she had of me being robbed on a street at night when I lived in Seattle. She described the street so well I knew exactly where it was. One night I found myself walking on that street late at night and suddenly remembered her dream, so I turned the corner and went to another street. Luckily I never found out if she was right.
  15. I completely agree, which is why I think, given the wealth of recorded words by Terence McKenna, people always choose the wrong ones. There are some parts of his talks that would make great samples that have nothing to do with drugs.
  16. You mean something like What is Psynews?
  17. Oh look, I'm not the only one who's thought of mimicing the Earth's magnetic field on a spaceship: http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/27/world/europe/star-trek-shield/index.html
