Hmm...I went to a party in Seattle Dick Trevor played at a couple years ago. Half his set was Green Nuns, and people loved it! I was a little surprised actually how much people were into it.

I get like that with sleep deprivation. Me too, especially people I don't think I'll ever see again. Like random people I meet at a party. It's like I have a mini-blackout when they say their name, sometimes I can't even say it back immediately as in "Nice to meet you X." I just say "Nice to meet you...."

I think Zion 604 is rocketing up to the top in my book!

Phenomena which cannot be explained, ever witnessed?
Veracohr replied to a topic in Cultural / Spiritual zone
When I was a teenager I had a particular guitar pick that was my favorite. One day, weeks after I'd lost it, I was driving down the road and caught motion out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head and saw it fall to the floor of the car from a point a few inches above the seat. There was nowhere it could have fallen from that I would have missed seeing it. As far as I'm concerned it appeared out of nowhere in mid-air.- 40 replies

How is your memory? Any quirks? My memory has never been that good, especially long-term memory. I don't remember a lot of my childhood. Mostly big things, but also small, inconsequential things. I was just thinking about something, and it occurred to me how odd it is the way I come to a certain conclusion. I was thinking of how long I haven't eaten meat. I'm not exactly sure, but my current answer is "about 13-14 years". What's weird is how I come up with this answer: - First, I remember where I lived when I stopped eating meat. Not exactly, I know I was in one of two apartments which I lived in within a short period of time. - Second, I remember that one or both of those apartments is where I lived when I had my 'raving' phase. - Third, I remember that my raving phase spanned only about two years and occurred around the year 2000. I know this because I spent New Year's Eve 2000 (1999 moving into 2000) with the people I went to raves with. - Therefore I know I stopped eating meat around 1999-2000. This seems to me to be a very convoluted way to remember the date of something. Also, if I'm trying to remember something from when I was a kid, I almost never remember the year or what age I was. I remember what grade I was in. Then I have to do the math to figure out how old I was. It's very weird.

One of my favorites is here at 3:05 (but I suggest listening to the the whole buildup before it!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUrji5lNlhQ

I don't think so, sounds more like progressive that is somewhat more interesting than the average progressive. Here's a previous thread on forest psy. Forest is something I've never really understood. Of the various samples I've heard, I can only catch the barest glimpse of a 'sound'. I guess I just think of it as part of the darkpsy genre, and I'm not sure it really needs its own name.

Eh? Multiple? Explain pls! I haven't changed mine for at least two years, as you can see previously in this thread. And apparently back then I still hadn't changed for "a while". The only thing different now is the files displayed on the desktop. I don't generally keep a lot of icons on my desktop. I have a really nifty fractal thing on my desktop at work, which I think was made by someone here on Psynews. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me remember who.

I haven't been to a lot of psy parties, but the top of the cake was probably last summer. It wasn't even the music that put it on top; it was the kind of fullon and darkpsy I don't care much for but can dance to if it's at a party. Electrypnose was there. What made it so great is that I was very stressed out from school, it was the first time I'd gotten to do anything fun that summer, and it was in a beautiful outdoor location so there was camping involved. It was the stress relief that made it so awesome. Well, I suppose the day-long drinking had a hand in it too.

I concur with Rotwang. You have to be super awesome. Honestly, the Family of Light members were chosen for specific reasons.

That's true, Live is nothing like Cubase. It's unique and you shouldn't expect to immediately get a new piece of software the first time you open it.

Rock, metal, new age. A little drum & bass.

A little story: I don't know what, but I did something Friday that screwed up some muscles in my neck and/or upper back. I woke up Saturday in pain and had to drive for 2.5 hours like that, and it has been hurting since, including the return 2.5 hour drive. Can't turn my head in most directions without major pain. I took ibuprofen Saturday morning. It didn't do anything. I took vicodin Saturday evening. It didn't do anything. I drank beer Sunday (this) evening. It worked wonderfully. Of course, any alcohol would have worked, but I happen to be drinking 21st Amendment Brewery's Brew Free or Die IPA.

what would be the last song to hear before you die?
Veracohr replied to technosomy's topic in General Psytrance
One of the things I like about trance is that it makes me feel full of life. I think if I knew I were dying, I wouldn't want to hear something like that, it might just make me feel bitter. Hell, if I knew I were dying, I'd probably feel bitter regardless. Chances are I'd want to hear something more from the rock genre, but not necessarily "hard-rocking", and probably something I've been a fan of for longer than I've been a fan of electronic music. Although that may change as I get older, who knows? Maybe Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine" or "Wish You Were Here" or "Brain Damage/Eclipse". Maybe Floater's "The Knowing Dirge" or "Endless II" or "Tell The Captain". Maybe the entirety of L.S.G.'s Into Deep album (which I don't count as individual songs). As for a funeral, well...like my grandmother who died in January, I don't want a funeral. Just friends and family getting together to have a party. But if I had to choose, I have to admit that even though it's trite and I'm not Christian, I really like "Amazing Grace" as it is commonly sung in movies (Wikipedia told me it didn't originally have music). The lyrics are subtle and the melody is beautiful. -
I don't have anything rare, I wasn't into psy in the 90's. And I'm not a collector, willing to spend lots of money on a second-hand release. But hey! Now we have people willing and able to re-release things! Suntrip with Dimension 5's Transdimensional, DAT with Crop Circles' Tetrahedron and now the singles!

Oh god, my company moved to SAP a couple years ago. It can be very annoying sometimes.

I had good experiences with M-Audio PCI interfaces.

A variety of systems: - My car's stock stereo system (via Discman-->cassette adapter!). - Tiny iPod Shuffle with earbud headphones (originally the Apple ones, now some JVC ones). - If at home, from my computer through MOTU Ultralite audio interface into ADAM A7 monitors. - If at home and it's late at night, or if I'm away from home with my computer, KRK KNS 8400 headphones. - And yes, sometimes even my laptop speakers when I'm feeling lazy and/or just want background music.

Maybe, I don't know. Apparently there was a Chi-A.D. song on Altar Records' Earth compilation in 2010, but I don't know if that was new or something unreleased from earlier.
