This thread has shown me I need more Etnica in my collection! I'm sadly lacking, and sadly lacking knowledge of these songs. After listening through everything listed here, I'd have to go with Trip Tonite (original).

Goa Girls - Female Presence in Psy-Trance (& Psynews)
Veracohr replied to a topic in General Psytrance
I don't think any of us have much new to add, but personally I like to talk about stuff I like. Same thing when I get together with old friends: there's only so much news to talk about, then we end up talking about days past and having many of the same old discussions.- 122 replies

Goa Girls - Female Presence in Psy-Trance (& Psynews)

I don't know any women who listen to psy, but I also don't know any guys who do (known personally). I've recognized a few regulars in my local scene, as infrequently as I join it, but I don't know any of those people personally.- 122 replies

Letäs summerize the most intense or emotional Goa tracks
Veracohr replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
I think he means intense. 'Emotional' doesn't have to mean light or euphoric. I'd add: Chi-A.D. - Eye Am The I -
Irrefutable evidence of his greatness!

Oh yeah. Well, I was drunk when I posted that. Leonard Nimoy was the voice of Galvatron.

Ah, well, because of my taste in movies, I'm only familiar with Count Dooku and Saruman. Still, I had no idea he was that old!

Whoa. That's not a 'preset'. A 'preset' is a file a softsynth uses to create a particular sound. That link is a whole goddamned project filled with stuff, lots of synths, clips, tracks, etc. A fair amount of tracks, perhaps, but they can often be pretty simple. A lot of the little noises and simple sounds can often be a single oscillator with simple modulation, thus not requiring a lot of processing power. Also, a lot of times a simple delay is all the effect a sound needs, and that is very minimal in terms of processing power. As far as effects, the most processing power usually comes from reverbs and analog-modeled effects. I think psy and most electronic music tends to use synthetic (algorithmic) reverbs rather than realistic (impulse modeled) reverbs, and synthetic reverbs require less processing. Also I don't imagine most artists/producers use a lot of analog-modeled effects like real-life compressor and equalizer units and such. -
Leonard Nimoy, most famously known as Dr. Spock from the original Star Trek series, is 82 years old and still acting! I've recently been watching Fringe and he's a character in that show. He's also reprised his role as Spock in (now both episodes of) JJ Abrams' movie reboot of Star Trek. He also provided the awesome voice of Unicron in Transformers: The Movie (1986). This voice role might actually be my favorite role ever of his! That low, gravelly voice was perfect for the planet-eating, mega-Transformer-sized Unicron.

I picked up Equator a while ago at a local shop, but on vinyl so I've only listened to it a couple times. I didn't find it all that interesting. I suppose I should give it some more listens...

There's a theory somewhere in that post? Obviously weather seasons (as opposed to astronomical seasons) differ depending on location. Where I am summer starts at the beginning of July and goes to about the middle of September.

I believe so: in this thread which brought Crossing Mind into the light, Draeke posted this Discogs list he made, which states the songs were composed 1999-2001. That then led to The Holographic Paradigm.

Dude, if you're going to use that word so often, please spell it right: indeed.

Pretty much anything currently available is up to the task, it's all so powerful these days. If you use lots of softsynths, a lot of RAM is good. I use a 7-year old Mac laptop and I never max it out in any way. -
Yeah, Crossing Mind is one of the unique ones.

I'm glad I got to see them once, about 8 years ago I think. Damn fine guitarist.
