  1. I agree about Bale as Batman, but everything else in that movie was great!
  2. Well yeah...but that's not why I liked it. I just thought the writing and acting were better.
  3. I watched Rogue One today. I thought it was way better than Episode 7!
  4. Oh yeah, Contact is great! I've seen the movie & read the book.
  5. I liked the books but I stopped the first episode 10 minutes in because I thought it was stupid and the characters annoying.
  6. Cool, thanks. It's funny that recently I watched the movie Arrival, and it was pretty much exactly what I wanted when I made this post. Except maybe the super-sentimental parts.
  7. He's not around Psynews anymore but I met GoGoT a few years ago.
  8. And named a white supremacist as his highest advisor. Are you OK with that? I'm not.
  9. Here you go: https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2016/11/11/over-200-incidents-hateful-harassment-and-intimidation-election-day
  10. I guess I just repeated the King, huh?
  11. The president only has so much power. What's more concerning to me is the number of people who voted for him BECAUSE he stoked the fires of bigotry. And now those people feel justified.

There's nothing particularly horrible about them, they're just newer parties so they don't have much support, and most people in the US are locked into the idea that only the two big parties are viable. The Green party has a great stance on environmentalism, but they're kind of a one-issue party. I didn't pay much attention to Jill Stein this time around, but in she's been on the ballot in the past and back then I noticed a significant lack of information on her website about international relations issues. I strongly support the environmentalism initiative, but if you want to be president of the US you need to have SOME opinion on international relations. The Libertarian party's main issue is "less government". In pretty much all respects. I've seen Libertarian candidates argue for the repeal of things like environmental regulations and civil rights laws that make it illegal for businesses to hire people based on their race. They think responsibility for these issues should be devolved to the state or local level instead of the federal.
  13. I haven't really had a chance to incorporate it yet. It wasn't until a couple months ago that I had enough modules to make even slightly usable sounds, and I haven't been making music lately anyway. But it's like any other hardware synth. I run MIDI to it from my computer and run audio from it into my computer and/or monitoring setup. The second module in from the left side of the picture is a MIDI interface. It produces pitch and gate signals along with several options for additional MIDI messages, like a second MIDI channel or CC messages. It also has options for how it produces gate triggers, and note priority.
  14. My modular package is complete! Here's a little demo I made of it:
  15. Regarding moderation: we don't read every single post. We rely on you to inform us of issues. That's why there's a report system on the forum. Everyone please refresh your understanding of the Forum Rules. This is our criteria for action. It should be obvious that topics such as the original post of this thread are likely to be controversial. Keep this in mind when replying. It's entirely possible to discuss polarizing issues without getting personal or emotional, but if you can't do this, don't reply.
  16. Not that I've written any music recently...but pretty equal for me. The software is much more versatile but I just get more satisfaction out of using hardware.

Often there is content from Filipe (GDR, this time around) that you might not see because we remove it. This time around there was additional, personal offline content. Every time we give him a chance (and we quickly figure out which new accounts are him), he squanders it by flying off the rails.
  18. Sitting down to lunch. Beer & pasta primavera. Flaking on helping friends move. Probably do some soldering after lunch.

The rest of your post was pretty much accurate, but this paragraph is just untrue. Sure, those kinds of people are here, but there's a lot of us who aren't. And don't start thinking the US is uniquely fucked up. Every country has their share of shitty people.
  20. Someone I used to work with used the word "bacon" as a counterpoint to "spam", and he defined it as spam that you actually like getting. It seems about every day where I get a spammy email from either Xilinx or TI, and I go back and forth on whether it annoys me or I like them. Haven't clicked the unsubscribe link yet!
  21. I don't know about Goa, but you can count on junkies being there first in Detroit & Seattle.
  22. After the first episode or two of Stranger Things I had to look up whether it was written or based on something by Stephen King. I was surprised it's not, it seems 100% King to me.
