Exact emotions when linstening to Goa Trance
Veracohr replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
No, most people don't. I suppose sometimes things pop into my head, but I guess I don't think much about it. -

I don't think I usually picture images when I listen to music. I feel emotions. -

It really depends on the song, but overall I'd say goa gives me 'psychedelic' feelings. Makes sense, doesn't it? -
Oh, OK. Muriatic acid is another name for hydrochloric acid, and is often sold (at least around my area) in hardware stores as pool cleaner. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something easily that does as good a job. Muriatic acid is usually sold fairly diluted, so it isn't even that strong, although still strong enough to be dangerous if used improperly. Can't help you, sorry.

If anything gives me 'winter' thoughts, it would be Electrypnose's "Sweet Sadness". Not goa of course, but it's very clean and stark sounding which kind of reminds me of winter. -

I actually agree with that, but it doesn't mean they aren't good. I like Artha. It's not crap fullon, it's good fullon. -
I call bullshit. Radi's fucking with us.

I don't know what soul acid is. Perhaps if you give a better explanation of what you're trying to do, we can help better, or tell you not to do it.

Exact emotions when linstening to Goa Trance
Veracohr replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
That's an emotional response related to crying. It happens. The images that come into people's minds when listening to music or any other thing depend on their personal experiences. I can't relate to what you described, but that's because I've had different experiences than you. -

Radi, if someone released a new album that sounded exactly like what you want, it still wouldn't sell any more than "new school" goa. It's not a matter of how similar or not similar the music is to the classic stuff, there's just not as much of a market for it now. -

No reason it should - it's new. It's quite right it should evolve. -
A simple vision about (psychedelic) music evolution
Veracohr replied to deepXcode's topic in General Psytrance
Here's a thought: you mentioned other styles than just goa starting out slower. When a music style is new, the people creating it are breaking new ground, doing things that hadn't been done before, making music that doesn't just slightly alter an existing genre but makes a whole new set of standard aspects (to an extent, anyway). It's just easier to do that at a slower tempo. When time goes by and a new crop of artists comes of age that have those rhythms and melodies and such already ingrained, it's easier for them to reproduce those standard aspects. A new generation of artists wants (usually) to push the boundaries of what came before instead of rehashing what already exists. One of the easiest ways to do that is to increase the speed. -
Mixing Tracks Together/blending with psy/goa
Veracohr replied to Panoptes's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
You'll probably find it easier if at least one of the tracks is in just a simple pad or kick/bass section during the transition. Trying to match beats, bass, harmony and melody at the same time is bound to be difficult. -
Water, oxygen and time. If you don't want to use acid. I don't know about zinc - zinc is used to prevent other metals from corrosion, so it seems an unlikely candidate for rust.

Neither - duh! Posford has no interest and AP will keep releasing remixes until they're so old they forget where their studio is. -

Manipulating BPM is possible on vinyl too, it just happens to alter the pitch as well. I see no reason to avoid CD's as a DJ. Lots of people use them, and you'll find a larger pool of music on CD than vinyl, when it comes to goa. Not sure what you mean by this. Are you worried about building up too much high frequency content during a transition? I wouldn't worry about it. Just try it out. If you try something that sounds like shit, try something different. People have DJ'd goa for some time now, and I don't recall any complaints about excessive high end. -

^ The part of Richpa's post you quoted originally said Green Hornet. So it looked like you were saying you saw Green Hornet, thinking it was Green Hornet.

A lot of those people have a problem with the concept of quantized beats and notes. I can understand how people would feel that way, but in my opinion they're looking at it the wrong way. Or, at least, we're looking at it a different way.
