  1. Interesting article on a substance called 'miraculin', found in a berry called "miracle berry", which causes sour flavors to taste sweet for a short time: http://people.howstuffworks.com/flavor-tripping.htm There's also an interesting part in the article on a company in the 70's that used miraculin in diabetic products, and was about to branch out into food products, until their office was broken into and the FDA suddenly decided to reclassify the substance in such a way that the company couldn't afford to have it tested and approved.
  2. By the way, you can't copyright a name. You trademark it. Copyright is for works of art. You can copyright a logo of your name if it's unique and specific enough to make an argument it's a "work of art".
  3. That's what I thought you meant. I just thought some people might call the full-on kick (with more and faster pitch modulation) a 'hard' kick, but might call one with less and/or slower pitch modulation a 'soft' kick, even when I personally may call it a 'hard' kick.
  4. I'm curious how you define hard/soft kicks. Personally, I don't like sharp kicks. But I like hard kicks.
  5. Think again my friend!
  6. 8 of my vinyl records that conveniently fit on top of my TV stand:
  7. Weird, I didn't realize Hendrix and Joplin were the same year. If you look up "27 club" on Wikipedia, there's a longer list of names, most of which I haven't heard of before. I'm kind of surprised Layne Staley didn't die at 27. Although I suppose he kind of effectively did, just not somatically.
  8. Oh, well I listened on Adam A7's which don't go super low.
  9. There was ample bass, but I thought it sounded fine, not too much.
  10. This guy was really creepy. I could easily picture him getting hopped up on those energy drinks and masturbating in front of elaborate scenes involving taxidermied chipmunks wearing pink tu-tus. With Wayne Newton playing in the background.
  11. Folks, this is a friendly reminder to keep the discussion on-topic, about the music, NOT about each other. Difference of opinion is good!
  12. I just stopped for groceries on the way home from a movie. It was kind of late, just before closing. I saw a fairly creepy-looking guy getting his own groceries while I wandered around the aisles. He ended up getting in line behind me at the checkstand, so I glanced at what he was getting. I wanted to know what kind of groceries really creepy people get. He got at least 30 cans of Red Bull and Rockstar, and some knock-off Alkaseltzer. Plus maybe a couple other things I didn't look at. Weird.
  13. Man you totally should! Thunderkiss '65, Black Sunshine, I Am Legend. Great stuff!
  14. Hell yeah! That and La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1! I was so disappointed when their second album wasn't titled La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 2. I still thought of Astro Creep 2000 as metal and not (particularly) electronic because I'd been listening to La Sexorcisto for a couple years before it came out, so White Zombie was firmly entrenched in my mind as a metal group.
  15. Yes I thought the vocals were fine, pretty well balanced in the mix like everything else. I'll try to remember to listen to it later to form a second opinion.
  16. Ah, I was just about to comment how unexpectedly old-school this sounded! No matter, it's good stuff!
  17. Pretty good! It flows nicely and the mix is well-balanced and good sounding.
  18. That mix was pretty good! I've never heard of him before. A little repetitive at times but so was a lot of good old goa.
