  1. Sounds kinda good, although I still can't hear any common sound in psy I've seen people call "South African/Twilight".
  2. I find "Verb and Reverb" to be kind of lacking compared to the first two. The first two are pretty decent.
  3. I wouldn't suggest Heliopolis if Sky Input didn't do it for you. I haven't heard much of Daze of Our Lives; I just haven't been able to get into Filteria much, but I do think Sky Input is better. I find Alienapia's "Goapocalipsis" to be highly melodic, as well as aggressive and somewhat atypical. I also suggest Artha's "Influencing Dreams". It's not exactly atypical, but very well-crafted songs and excellent production. Are you familiar with either of those?
  4. Were they playing 15 year old music? That would be understandable.
  5. Did you tell them about the messed-up form? I once informed an audio gear reseller about a typo on their website and I got a free shirt out of it! Which I'm wearing right now (which I discover after I look down)!
  6. Are you talking about a specific album?
  7. I wouldn't call this anything near ambient, more breaks I guess (?). Around 3:45 it goes somewhere weird and not as good as the part up to then. I like up to that 3:45 point but not much after that. It needs some overall direction. If you want tips on mixing and mastering head to the Music Making and Production/Industry forum! I'd love to see more activity there.
  8. Interesting music, but oh the names...... Makes me think of that release that showed a pharaoh with a machine gun on the cover.
  9. Other than the lack of bass which was already mentioned, it's not a bad song. I don't know if anyone can say "do X-Y-Z and that's how you make goa trance". I tried for years to achieve that "goa sound" and just found myself incapable. So I just make whatever. I suggest not worrying about making "real goa trance", just make music. The music you like will come through as influences.
  10. SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! We're trying to keep that under wraps so we can lure more women to our side!
  11. Starting Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series again. The last book should be out this fall so I need to start now to get through the first 13 books again by then.
  12. I'll probably buy it. I have the Yellow and Phosphorescent compilations, but on vinyl. It would be nice to have these songs on CD as well.
  13. I think it could be extended to most or all electronic genres. Not counting DJ's, just producers. I think maybe a big factor is that creating music by MIDI sequencing is more technical and methodical than women are typically drawn to. Not to say they can't, but on average women are more drawn to interests with less rigid frameworks. In music you see a lot higher percentage of women who sing or play piano, violin, or some sort of immediately expressive instrument like that.
  14. I don't remember that guy but it makes me think "V For Vendetta".
  15. I haven't heard the Destination Goa, Goahead, other well known ones like that. So I'll go with First Flight.
  16. This is really one that grows on you doesn't it? I'm liking it more and more.
  17. I think I can save the admins from repeating themselves again since I've seen them answer this questions lots of times. The data exists and can be seen by admins (and mods?) but since most of the links/images are no longer valid it's kind of useless to bring it back even in a read-only way. Better to make new and exciting off-topic posts!
  18. I'm listening to a new CD right now and don't want to stop it to hear these, but that's my thought as well.
  19. Well psy isn't the only thing I listen to, and I don't spend all my time trying to listen to everything that's ever been made. If I've seen it mentioned here at some point I don't remember.
  20. Man there's so much psy I haven't heard...
  21. I kid you not, I hadn't heard it before.
