A lot of times the questions are just something like "Hey, can you give me a suggestion on [something]". A song link with little to no discussion is fine to me in that case. Although I do tire of seeing posts where people put more than one or two Youtube embeds, especially in threads where the question really SHOULD be answered with words. As a side note, I've come to hate the fact that Youtube is the default source for music. For some reason Youtube has been accepted as a legitimate place to host music even by people other than the copyright holder, but try to host that music anywhere else as JUST a music file (no video), and suddenly it's a death sentence. I'd love it if we could post links to legitimately-hosted songs here that were just music files, not music with a static picture of the album cover that never changed but still increased the amount of data you're streaming.

My girlfriend told me she knows a guy who releases casettes of new music, including her band. I think she said he sells most of them in Europe, very few here in the US. But you never know, those darned hipsters just might try to bring them back!

I don't

I accidentally connected my headphones to a DC voltage supply and ruined them.

I think I'd have to disagree with you there. It's a good song, most Crop Circles songs are good, but to me that song along with many of the other Crop Circles songs, exlcuding Lunar Civilization, are just not very noteworthy. Fun to listen to, but nothing that makes me flip out like Lunar Civilization does.

Not a damned thing. I don't have a job anymore and I'm fucking bored out of my mind.

Phase Alignment Question
Veracohr replied to routingwithin's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Reflections cause phase effects. If a sound reaches you by two different paths that are not equal in length they will have different phase when they reach your ear. -
Not bad, but I kind of hate the sound. The instruments are all much too separated and the mix is too clean. Like the typical 70's production style of every instrument recorded separately, but with modern recording technology. Admittedly I'm not very familiar with Slayer post-Seasons In the Abyss. Also...dueling guitar solos? Lame.

Oh no, I work a dumb office job. The company I worked for originally was bought by another & now they're changing stuff & I've become obsolete/redundant. Typical business stuff, it just sucks. I've been there for 10 years.

Phase Alignment Question
Veracohr replied to routingwithin's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Can you post it & I can check on my system? -
I'm getting laid off in a couple months.

Stuffed in a box & shoved in a closet. I don't play from the CDs, I just rip them to my computer in WAV. One of the reasons my latest purchases were non-physical when available. It just started to seem pointless to accumulate more physical things I only use once.

Hardly the first time:

What confused me is that the bio used the name Hannah but also the word "his". If it had said "hers" I would have just assumed a gender identity change.
-
Does anyone happen to know why Chi-A.D.'s real name is now being shown as "Hannah Young"? What happened to the name Dave? It shows on the official website: http://www.chi-ad.com/chi-ad/site/biog.html And on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/CHi-AD/47716165273?sk=info&tab=page_info

I have to disagree almost entirely on your perceptions of the mix. I agree somewhat about the drums but the rest I think sounds great. Also by the way, "dull" as a label referring to sound pretty much always means lacking in high end, so to say it's dull AND that it accentuates high end is a contradiction. Unless you have some other meaning for "dull".

This is an interesting article that talks about some of the challenges with releasing vinyl records today and how the renewed interest in vinyl hasn't been good for the core business that remained after the dominance of the CD. http://www.factmag.com/2015/05/07/pressed-to-the-edge-vinyl/

Shortly after Insejn's post in June 2013 we released a new Psynews compilation Sideffect, named in honor of our sadly departed member of the same name.

Saw Ex Machina today. Definitely good! And a good score too.

I was pretty interested in that, but wondering if it's actually good. I hate trailers that make a movie look good then it sucks.
