  1. I didn't like it because it seemed to be building toward something it never reached. The soundtrack built up so much tension that the movie just never delivered. At the end I was like "uh...that's it?" There was no climax, it just kind of ended.
  2. One? ONE??? Shit. I'm tempted to go with the classic "Mahadeva", but I guess I'll go with this one: The melody starts about 3:00 and gets super awesome about 6:00.
  3. I don't even have the capability to listen in 5.1. I do have this idea, which I've sort of started on, for two new psychill albums (kind of like my last one) that are written and mixed in a quadraphonic arrangement, but can be played individually and still sound complete. So you could have one album or the other, or for a special experience set up two stereos in a quadraphonic arrangement. And then I could also do a 5.1 mix of the two albums since that would be too much work for most people.
  4. It's great except for "Dudka". That song annoys the crap out of me.
  5. There's a shop in my city that sells mostly vinyl, some CD's, and DJ gear. I stop in every now and then and look through the quite small trance section. One day not long ago (within the last year perhaps) I discovered and bought: Blue Planet Corporation - Cyclothymic / Crystal The Infinity Project - Psychotools Koxbox - Life Is.... Laughing Buddha - Karma / Megamorphosis / Earth Medicine X Dream - Brain Forest / S.T.O.P. Adrenalin Drum - The Israel EP Kundalini - Kundalini EP Prānā - Kiba E.P. Slinky Wizard - Money Comes Cheap EP Darshan - Spectra TIP Records Yellow Compilation TIP Records Phosphorescent Compilation TIP Records First Flight Compilation Quite a score!
  6. Has anyone seen the new Nightmare on Elm Street? I went into it with fairly low hopes, especially after seeing some poor reviews of it, but I had to anyway. Overall I think it was pretty well done...except...for Freddy. The writers totally took all the scary out of him. The actor was all right, nothing special, but his lines were just terrible. I think they tried to make the character less comically evil and more "realistically" evil, but ended up leaching out the scary and just made him like a really angry guy. That kind of sucks because other than the main character, the movie was a pretty decent remake. The only other issue I had was that they jumped too fast into the "hey, we're all having the same dream" realization.

I liked it. Interesting ending. Definitely "Alien" influence.
  8. This post confuses me. Did digitoxin somewhere imply he pirated the album?
  9. Hmmm...not sure where you get that from, but thanks for the input. If anything, I have the most problems when I try to emulate other artists too closely when the style isn't ingrained in me yet. Keep in mind that this wasn't a finished section of music, I was asking for opinions on the basic foundations that were there before I kept going. I build as I go. No matter, I've moved onto a third version that I like better. So far anyway.
  10. I'm sure I'll put more work into the intro before it's done, but I'm pretty much happy with that part. The rest of it though - even after redoing it, I still ended up with something very similar to the first version, so something about it must seem right to me. Maybe I should try taking it in an entirely different direction?
  11. If you would be so kind, please give me your opinion on this. I keep going back and forth on the part that starts about 2:57. This is the second version of that part, and I'm still not sure if I like it. I like the intro up until that part though. http://www.veracohr.com/audio/0412Mix.flac http://www.veracohr.com/audio/0412Mix.mp3
  12. I love this album. I think it sounds good aside from the overcompression (like every other album that comes out these days).
  13. This is an awesome album! I like that it has kind of a unique feel to many of the rhythms.
  14. A few albums may be re-released out of specific interest, but overall I just don't think it makes business sense for any label to consider re-releasing large numbers of out of print albums. I also would love to get my hands on many of those old releases, but I understand that in most cases it makes little sense to do so. Ask Draeke or Mars about it if you really want to know. Wasn't Transdimensional pretty hard to find before it was re-released? I don't really know about the other two - I haven't heard much Koxbox and I've never heard of Zirrex.
  15. Pointless from a business perspective, not a fan perspective. Old schoolers already have the old albums, so the customer base is all newer fans. Now if you have a new album, the customer base is everyone who is willing to buy.
  16. I voted Option 1. There's not too much difference though, and I had to spend a couple minutes looking closely at both to even make a decision.
  17. My input: don't auto-play the music. I'm not willing to go to a site that auto-plays any sound because I'm almost always listening to music when I'm on the internets. That's just my pet peeve.
  18. I don't care for the bass but otherwise it's a very good song! Can't wait to hear the whole thing.
  19. I downloaded this mix not long ago and was listening to it at work today. I heard one song but didn't know what it was at the time that made me want to jump out of my chair and scream and dance around the office. Turns out it was the Biot song. Fucking awesome!!!
  20. Oops, I totally missed that you said it was static noise. I assumed you were talking about one of those really crappy sounding low-bitrate MP3s.
