  1. Well the problem is they are just missing (for me). So I don't know which ones. For instance: the part 1 .rar file is 171.4MB, and after I expand it and get the error I have a folder that is 70.6MB and contains 9 songs.
  2. Interesting - "Panopticon" is the name of a really excellent album by one of my favorite bands, Isis. I don't care so much for the bass, but the rest of it is pretty good.
  3. I downloaded it, but I seem to be having trouble with part 1. I get an error when the archive is expanding. I get some songs but not all. Unfortunately I seem to be missing some of the songs you guys seem so excited about. But as for what I do have, yes it's fucking great!
  4. I'll be annoyingly picky and say that if the original was made with an MS-20, there's no sine wave component. That synth could produce triangle, saw and rectangle waveforms.
  5. OK, I got an answer I should have known myself without having to ask other people: Your body is acting as an antenna for ambient electromagnetic energy and noise, like 60-cycle hum (I don't know where you are but in the US electricity is transmitted at 60Hz so we call that supply-induced hum "60-cycle hum"). So that noise you are picking up goes through you into the cord and then amplified and pushed out the speaker.
  6. You mean Making Love? Not Having Sex or Fucking? Because different music fits each. For Making Love, I like the first Portishead album. I can't really think of much in the electronic realm for Making Love.
  7. I have a 1GB iPod which I mostly listen to at work. I listen to music perhaps 2-3 hours a day at work, so I change the songs out once a week or so. Currently it contains: Pleiadians - I.F.O. Nine Inch Nails - Broken Ra - 9th Mastodon - 4 songs from Leviathan and 4 songs from Remission Botch - We Are the Romans Astral Projection - Another World Filter - "Hey Man Nice Shot" Michael Jackson - "Billy Jean" Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Free Bird" Pennywise - "Bro Hymn" VA - Magic Dew E-Mantra - Arcana Aes Dana - Memory Shell
  8. I'm terrible at those jungle/dubstep basses, but it sounds like a low-passed pulse (?) with a kind of slow decay on the filter envelope and little or no resonance, and an LFO whose rate is being adjusted is modulating the volume. Mabye tomorrow I'll see if those ideas get me anywhere close. Time for bed now.
  9. Or you can read the book and not wait!
  10. Is anyone familiar with reverbnation.com? It's one of the many websites where artists can host their music, but it's pretty cool in that it has some good services for artists. It's just one of many places I have some of my music. I got a message on that site today from someone who lives in a nearby town, asking me to produce some trance tracks for him to rap over. He said he is looking to "venture into some new sounds". This was quite a surprise. I've never had a random person I don't know contact me about making music for them. Of course, the thought of rapping over trance makes me want to vomit, but I thought I might talk to him and see if there's something else we can work out.
  11. Looked at your website from the link on your reply to my post. Your stuff sounded good.

  12. Saw waves, one detuned, with a little bit of filtering but little or no resonance. Does the plugin have unison capability? If it does try a 6 or 8-voice unison.
  13. I don't think the CG was trying to look truly real. I think of the Final Fantasy movie from 2001 when it comes to CG that is really trying to look real. I'm sure CG artists know that the technology isn't advanced enough to look real on such a large scale. But it still looked good.
  14. I completely disagree. I've never understood why some artists change their artist name just to release different styles of music (assuming no member changes). Edit: Of course I understand why, I just don't understand the desire. Who cares if it's a different style? I personally never blindly buy an album just because of the name, assuming it's going to be the same style I've known from that artist.
  15. Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana, who played Uhuru in the new Star Trek movie. IMDB is your friend. I heartily approve of this movie. The story was good if not terribly original. I like that "Dances With Wolves in space" analogy.
  16. You fail. And you don't even deserve an interesting fail pic.
  17. Blue Planet Corporation Ha! I finally got one!
  18. It's taken me a while to get into Filteria. I bought Heliopolis a while back but ended up not liking it as much as I thought I would. I'm finally kind of "getting" Filteria, but it's still music I can't listen to very often. I only heard little snippets of "Daze of our Lives" when it came out and I think I liked it better, but I still haven't heard it very fully.
  19. Damn, I made a picture for that one days ago, I was just waiting for one I could actually answer to post it!
