Synths or effects?

Hey, when did you order these from Saiko? I ordered that CD and an Aes Dana one from them almost 4 weeks ago. Today it's been 23 days since their email saying "it's on its way!" and still nothing in my mailbox. It's never taken that long.

I think the synth is also distorted, and definitely has some echo, so you have to factor that in.

What is supposed to be realistic about a movie with aliens? In my view, it wasn't meant to be a "sci-fi" movie, and it wasn't an "alien movie". It was about civil rights, and just happened to have aliens in it.

It sounds like you're talking about the one that plays the main melody. That's a good question - their equipment list is huge, but who knows how much of that list they had in 95/96. I'm inclined to say it's not a Virus or any other VA. I think it sounds Rolandy so I'm going to say a Juno. It's really nothing special, you could make that sound with any subtractive synth.

You can easily find a cheap Firewire or USB audio interface to record the hardware. You'll also want a MIDI interface so you can control the softsynths with the keyboard. Many audio interfaces have a MIDI port. The PreSonus Firebox isn't that much.

Not uncommon. Softsynths actually kind of suck to work on. IMO. I don't know anything about FL Studio, but you can't record audio in Reason. Propellerhead has just come out with a new software called "Record", but I don't know how good it is. I'd suggest finding a good DAW you can ReWire FL and Reason into (does FL support ReWire?) so that you can also record your hardware synth.

It's not that they don't think, they just don't care. I've talked with some people about similar subjects and was told flat out "I don't care." It's one of the symptoms of an increasing sense of entitlement in a lot of places.

It's not that great of an album, but it should have been included in the poll. Hell, it's the only one I have.
