  1. I listen to the radio in the car, because that's my only option of hearing music in the car. Between a mainstream rock station, an alternative rock station, two classic rock stations, an "everything under the sun" station and a classical station, I can find something worth listening to about 90% of the time.
  2. The sound of Madonna and Cher would be Autotune, Daft Punk would definitely be a vocoder. My guess is Daft Punk uses a hardware vocoder. You could probably find some website somewhere that describes what they use.
  3. Yay! After two weeks, it finally came!! Transwave - Backfire (The Best of 1994-1996) Yay! It's fucking awesome!
  4. I always just create the arpeggio with the notes rather than an arpeggiator. I don't imagine any arpeggiator pattern written by some random person is going to be exactly what I want on a given song. But if I were to play such a part live, I would need to create an arpeggiator pattern.
  5. The best part is when I get that burst of creative energy at or near the beginning of writing a song, and it all just seems to flow from me of its own accord. The worst part is a few weeks/months down the line, when my wonderful, singular vision has gone completely cockeyed; the song has gone down a completely different path than the one it started on, I'm hopelessly lost, and I begin to have a gnawing suspicion that aliens have been secretly changing my song while I'm at work.
  6. Listen not to the nay-sayers. It's totally fucking weird and that's what makes it cool. It could use some work on song progression and evolution, but the sounds and feel are great. My first thought, though, was that it's WAY too fucking loud. Do yourself a favor and don't fall into the loudness wars.
  7. And oh yeah... You'll have hard luck getting Guitar Center to work with you, but you don't need to. Contact the manufacturer. You should have some sort of manufacturer's warranty unless you bought it and didn't touch it for 5 years or something.
  8. Digital mixer, meaning it has digital inputs from CD players? In that case, it could be a channel in the headphone output circuit. Try hooking up the main outputs to some monitors and see if both channels work.
  9. Daisy-chain the synths: Sequencer out -> synth #1 in Synth #1 THRU -> synth #2 in Synth #2 THRU -> synth #3 in Synth #3 THRU -> synth #4 in You'll still be limited to 16 MIDI channels, though, between the four synths. Then choose whichever keyboard you want to use as your controller, and plug it into the sequencer IN.
  10. Well, since you seem to have all the money in the world, my vote is modular.
  11. Wow, sounds annoying as hell. I have a friend who listens to UK hardhouse. I think of it more as club trance on meth. For the most part, it annoys me to no end. Your description reminds me of it. Not psychedelic, but otherwise your description is spot on.
  12. I get strange messages in a language I don't understand when I click on those links. I just reinstalled my operating system, so I may be missing something. What does it say?
  13. Totally off topic, I know, but I don't understand. Why can't you import old electronics?
  14. By the way, try to check into the history of the A6 before you buy. I understand there were some bad batches in the last couple years of its production.
  15. I haven't really looked into modular softsynths, but I know that Arturia makes a modular Moog emulation.
  16. Oh absolutely, that's another one I'm in love with.
  17. Actually it's not 100% analog. DCOs, but as long as it sounds good, who cares? And you might also look into the Poly Evolver by DSI. Fewer voices, but it adds some cool wavetable stuff and sounds fucking great. I'm in love with it.
  18. I am unfamiliar with this artist. Does "Don´t smoke aic RMX" refer to a remix of Alice in Chains? That sounds interesting...
