Not that I've used it, but according the the grapevine: http://www.sadie.com/index.html

If you want better than mp3 but smaller file sizes than FLAC, go OGG. It's lossy, but sounds better than mp3.

While I admittedly don't know anything about psy labels, I can't imagine any of them are so big they would have the ability to dictate what their artists' music sounds like. I'd be suprised if any electronic labels could do that, let alone labels that cater to an obscure subgenre like psytrance.

Yay!
-
I didn't have a lot of time to play it when I did, but it seemed well suited to pads and weird sounds. Not so sure about leads or basses.
-
The only analog I have is a Novation BassStation Rack. And I'm not even sure if that's VCO, DCO or VA. What I'd really like is: TB-303 (of course), Andromeda, Prophet 5, Moog Modular I'm in love with analog sounds, but I can't afford analog synths. And a new one that is definitely worth checking out, because it's pretty fucking great, is Dave Smith Instruments' PolyEvolver. I played one for a little bit, and it's nice.

Psynews Mix - DJs get ready!
Veracohr replied to Cybernetika's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Ah, there's the problem. Are you somehow getting only one side on your conversions? Because I noticed that my song in your mix was only one side, spread mono across both channels. -
Psynews Mix - DJs get ready!
Veracohr replied to Cybernetika's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
I suppose I ought to correct you on the title of my song as well. "The Karaethon Cycle (Tarmon Gaidon Version)" As it is, indeed, an alternate version (or 'mix' if you will ). -
Well, considering I can't afford to buy stuff like that, there's really no point in me knowing where to buy it, eh?
-
You son of a bitch. TB-303s, a Jupiter 6, Pultecs, Ureis, Neves. At least it didn't have any Prophet 5s or Andromedas. Otherwise I'd be lying helpless on the floor.

Meet the knobs called Tune, Cutoff, Reso, Env.Mod, Decay, and Accent, and the switch called Waveform. They are your friends.

Psynews Mix - DJs get ready!
Veracohr replied to Cybernetika's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
It's cool to hear one of my songs in a mix! That's a first for me. I can't wait to hear more of the mixes! -
I see a lot of local metal shows because my friend is in a metal band. So the last one I saw was Grieving Sun, Timeline, Relent for No One, Dark Cloud Nine, Apocalypse Head and one other at Rock & Roll Pizza in Portland, OR, USA. Grieving Sun and Apocalypse Head are good, the others were okay, decent enough but kind of unoriginal metal/death metal. We didn't stick around for the last band, whatever their name was.

Well, perhaps it's just stuff I find annoying. My system isn't super-stable when I get ReBirth and Reason both ReWired to Digital Performer in OS9.2.2.
-
If you've just got ReBirth open, you can automate the knobbies with your mouse, or if you have it ReWired, you can do that or control them via MIDI. Notice the Pattern Mode/Song Mode switch at the top? Switch it to Song Mode to record automation, and have fun with the vast array of annoyances that come with ReBirth. And yeah, you have to hit the record button to automate.

Thanks for the thread. I needed some suggestions, and now I've got some, and I just ordered a couple CDs. Unfortunately, between Psyshop and Saiko Sounds, neither has any Dimension 5 albums in stock. So I got Astral Projection's "Trust in Trance" and Hallucinogen's "Twisted".

Psychedelics and their influence on postmodernism
Veracohr replied to Trolsk's topic in General Psytrance
Hmmm.... I never knew the definition of postmodernism until now. The word 'Postmodernism' always seemed like one of those really pretentious things that I despise, and so I never bothered to learn anything about it. However, the points Trolsk references in his original post are almost, point for point, a definition of my own personal worldview. And my worldview is fairly heavily influenced by psychedelics and psychedelic culture. -
I was trying to come up with a response to this thread, but I couldn't. Now, however, I think I see what might have been going on. Somehow you were saving a 48k file as 44.1k without converting the sample rate? I don't even know how that could be done, excepting the possibility of a random removal of samples. But at least you figured it out. Convert the sample rate before saving (and dither, always, if reducing the bit depth)! Why can't you record in 44.1kHz to begin with?

There's no selection for 0. I can't afford CDs. I buy a couple a year.

In case any of you dark psy fans aren't familiar with it, I just happened to stumble across a stream of all dark psy: http://www.triplag.com/index.htm

Reason users, need help!
Veracohr replied to CTO_gram's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Never seen any error like that, but I use it on Mac OS9. However, this should be a lesson to always, always back up your shit! -
It's not psy, but there's one called "Didgeridoo Trance Dance". Pretty good album, but stupid name.

Yeah, I wish I could save up $1500 in a few months. -
Native Instruments new Releases..

Their prices just keep going up and up. I wish I had bought FM7 when it was still $150 or whatever it was a couple years ago. -
Color me old, but what is a 'netlabel'? How does it differ from a 'normal' label?
