Posford and Talpa should sound really sick
-
I went to a lot of discos when I was around 12, and all that was played was 'euro techno' E-type, 2 Unlimited, and that sort of stuff All the silly lyrics started to annoy the hell out of me but overall I liked the 'sounds'... kick, melodies, etc. When I was maybe 13-14 I started listening more to regular trance stuff, techno and other EDM stuff (Prodigy!). My friend (who was into rave, hardcore and goa) introduced me to goa.. and the first song I heard was probably "Hyperion - Sunflower". The mp3-era started and I digged deeper into goa trance and other EDM. And also a bit of classical music. Now I'm still addicted to the old-school sound and I've realized I was born 5 years too late

yeah I remember those They put up some pretty insane goa tracks, many of which were very good! I believe they even accepted CD requests, they burn it and send it, you pay a small fee.. But that was like yeeears ago. Seems like they're gone now

if price doesn't matter: 2x CDJ 1000 A&H Xone-V6 The realistic choice: 2x CDJ-200 Pioneer DJM707 Been hearing good words about the Numark DXM06, but personally I don't have that positive view on numark.. My DJM-500 is 5 years old and starting to have some problems: * slightly panned master out * slight noise when some knobs are turned, sometimes.. * slightly panned head phones output * volume indicators stuck sometimes (?) If you're gonig for the DJM5/600 because of the effects think twice.. they're pretty bad.. I'm looking for a new mixer and, dmtree, that Rane looks sweet. A solid mixer that does few things but does damn well is my first impression... Definately on my check out list

Seek and Destroy, can't stand it.. And it was played to death a couple of years ago, and the thing that disturbed me the most is that everyony seem to enjoy it / go nuts
-
Classical music.. On the trance side it'd probably be some dreamy floating melodic goa (think anno-domini/jajo)...

I wouldn't trust it entirely, give it some time and you'll eventually reach a point when you just 'feel it' (hard to describe ) and you can get it very close (say within 0.1%) in seconds.. , I do notice that for newer stuff the rule seem to work very well... but it seems that with old-school/vinyl the bpms aren't always exactly at X.0 -

I'm working on setting up a server at home now so I can give you some space -
If I like and it's available, I buy it, simple as that I wouldn't be too quick to judge because most (?) djs probably do like you and me, burn copies of originals. I would never play downloaded mp3s.. with the exception of unreleased killarghs that the artist put up for download But even then I would very much hesitate playing them if they weren't high quality ones...

the synths that come in at 0:05 and remains throughout the whole sample annoys the hell out of me. Try Odyssey instead, much better

Ok, the idea for me of this was to post a sample of a fairly unknown track which I find very good. But I guess this one was a bit tough... Last hint: This track appeared on a compilation from germany. This compilation was one in a series of goa trance compilations. Danish artists dominated the tracklists on several of these releases (especially the later ones..). The track name is rather cryptic with a couple of letters and numbers. Deadline: Aug 26, 04:07 PM
