  1. 10 USD or 8 EUR for a digital album is fine. For EPs it's the # of tracks + $1. If the payment is on a sliding scale like some Bandcamp artists have, then I like to give a dollar or two more than the minimum.
  2. For now I'm gonna say Shakta - Silicon Trip, Juno - Beyond The Infinite, TIP - Feeling Weird, Koxbox - Dragon Tales, and VA - Made On Earth. My top ten changes too much to write here
  3. It's not quite what you asked for, but I hear some tracks from the synthwave and nu-disco/psychedelic house genres that remind me of early proto-Goa. Neo-proto-Goa, if you will. A few that I've been digging on lately: http://synthesizer.bandcamp.com/track/secret-of-the-saturn http://synthesizer.bandcamp.com/album/155-protector-101-protector-101 http://dominanceelectricity.bandcamp.com/track/battlenet
  4. Finally got Verizon to update our service. It's still bad but at least my computer doesn't go full retard when opening a 480p video anymore.
  5. I watched Exorcist 2 because of Future Sound Of London's "ISDN" album. Pretty good film actually, not what I was expecting.
  6. More dark creepy swirly goa like Manitou pls.
  7. Well, it's not as complex or as developed as the album version. But it's a decent track. I like how it balances lines that are more bouncy and fun with others that have a dark sound. It's actually more reminiscent of Youth's sound than typical Hallucinogen. Probably not a coincidence since he worked at Butterfly studios at the time.
  8. It's the version on Retrodelica, IIRC. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Retrodelica-Back-From-The-Future/release/3721
  9. His Buddha stuff was never my thing, but I liked some of his side projects (Bit-Head). Hope he comes to some peace with himself. Not trying to excuse Filipe, but mental disorders and getting fucked up aren't totally exclusive to each other.
  10. Ofer has a way with harmonies and pads. Cosmic, very cosmic! Anyway I'll choose Naughty Moves, Extra Mundane, No Refunds, and Dew Point.
  11. Great thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6pba1ps6bs Scandinasia, you'd probably like this artist: http://www.discogs.com/artist/383530-Sorma
  12. As of mid-June, this was the story: So we can expect a Fall release. I don't want to put words in Kristian's mouth, but I don't think the release of remixes, live ect. will change that.
  13. Psysutra just released an album that might be up your alley.
  14. Haha, most of us voted 'Other' For me, it's Organic Forms. One of the most emotional slow trance tracks ever made.
  15. Radi, for what it's worth I had a lot of anxiety about my first goa party as well. There is no "the way to dance" to goa, but I can tell you how I dance, which is really simple. Just stepping twice on each foot, moving in a few different directions back and forth, while shaking hips and arms in time with the music. There's more but those are the basics. First get into the rhythm, then let the music suggest how it wants to be danced to. And if this festival is outdoors, then the music is as loud as you want it to be. Just move further from the speakers if your ears are sensitive. I've been to many goa parties and never damaged my hearing, at least as far as I know.
  16. I love Desert Sun (and Maya Moon, probably my favorite track by them), but overall I have to go with Project Genesis.
  17. Even more mainstream DJs (Ishkur) have been saying this. I agree that it's better if DJs are semi-anonymous and take a facilitator role, rather than performing on a stage. As you said, it's not really exciting to watch, unless you're trying to learn how to DJ of course
  18. Fantastic artist. I like everything from Kris Kylven. His releases as Element Over Nature and Cyberkrist have a similar sound. One quibble: Syb Unity Nettwerk tends to fall into the 'good tracks ruined by bad mixing/mastering' category we were talking about earlier. A number of their tracks have an extremely muffled sound, dunno why.
  19. Time to dig again... Not that kind of dig! *shudders* THAT kind of dig. If only my house were as organized. Anyway. My new split set covers over three hours of proto trance. The concept behind this one was to create a 'darkest before dawn', pre- and after-sunrise feeling. So there's lots of experimental shit in set one, while set two brings the uplifting vibes. Italo, synthpop, techno, EBM, and rock are all in the mix; so after you recover from Summer solstice shenanigans, set the WABAC machine and enjoy some of our roots. http://bringthatbeachback.com/2014/06/20/in-advance-of-the-landing/ http://bringthatbeachback.com/2014/06/21/fanfare-of-life/
  20. Jim Appleton's "Sanctuary". http://www.mixcloud.com/jimllmixit3/jim-appleton-sanctuary/ My favorite used to be this: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php/topic/65626-raphaeldatakult-goa-trance-mix-1/ Sadly deleted; maybe the artist will share it again somewhere? (hint hint).
  21. The Dance Of Reality. Not a film to be watched with the intellect, but with the free associative part of the mind. Jodorowsky's still got it.
  22. A 6-pack of Bavaria non alcohol beer. Experiments in sobriety.
  23. I wish Chi-A.D. had kept up the style he had around the Anno Domini album. Everything from that period (99-01) is so dark, spacy and gooood. I could care less about anything he did before or after, barring a couple of tracks. I don't like any of Filteria's or E-Mantra's albums. I try to 'get' them from time to time, but they still sound random and unmemorable to me. I don't like AP - Trust In Trance or IM - The Gathering all that much. I think Brainman/Einstein is a misunderstood genius. And someone who prefigured a lot of later psytrance styles. I don't like 99% of the music on Ektoplazm.
  24. I can't get enough of Divine Design. Maybe his most emotional album. It always moves me, anyway. Waves is pretty spiffy too. More on the hypnotic/droning side, which is a style of goa I miss. One Love I can't quite get into for some reason. Maybe because it's the foundational album, and I heard his later work first, but a lot of the tracks sound a little too... basic, and repetitive, somehow.
