Just love this track. -
Dragon Twins - Psychedelic Schism (new track)
desysko replied to Djuna's topic in Free Music Promotion
Wow, sounds like the BIg Muff can be a lot of fun. But there is a difference with how the x0x0b0x handles notes and stuff from its own sequencer and from a midi source from my experience. I really do prefer the x0x sequencer a lot more. I personally prefer to use hardware stuff (like the EMX) for sequencing since my laptop's screen is broken and I have to use a monitor for it along with other things such as my gear is on one side of the room while some other stuff is on the other because there isn't a lot of room, going to need to get a new desk and laptop eventually.- 13 replies

Wow that all sounds like a ton of fun. For the sequencer, do you sequence it on the x0x (and your other hardware) or do you do most of the sequences and patterns on a separate hardware then use midi? I wish Soundcloud would simply let you pick which layout/style you want, I really dislike the current layout as I forget about the descriptions since they are tucked away pretty much. But regardless, that all really exciting. I've been planning to get more pedals but my most recent pedal has had some problems so I'm gonna need to figure that one out. Otherwise, for distortion stuff I either use the drive on the EMX on the x0x or channel the x0x into my Bass Station 2 then do some distortion/overdrive with that. Using the Bandpass and having it modulated can have some interesting results.- 13 replies

Hmm, that site doesn't seem to be working for me. I'll have to try it with some other browsers and see if it works then.

Thanks for the feedback. I've sort of realized over the period of time that I'm gonna need to refresh my memory on music theory and stuff like that. I've played the piano since I was a kid and took lessons but I haven't played much on it for a long time now. It's one of the reasons why I got into synthesizers and music since I wanted to play music but not just the piano.

There's a new sequencer in town
desysko replied to Djuna's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Yea, I saw that video a while ago. It really makes me want to get a bcr2000. Not just because of this, but so that I can control the m180 sequencer software I have. That sequencer is a really nice one. -

I also remember reading from somewhere that they were planning to release an album way long time ago but then never did for some reason. -
Your modular synth of choice?
desysko replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Oh I don't doubt that someone already has done it before but it would be interesting to see someone like Filteria or another artist who then goes through the process of how in the world they think of some of the the stuff they do. -

Ah now that's better. Pretty interesting stuff. Oh ya (or anyone else), another interesting thing that you could do (just a suggestion) is have a video of showing the breakdown of maybe a part of one your tracks. Showing how certain sounds were made, effects, and etc. I love watching how other folks built up their tracks like how Mr. Fleming did that one series showing how he did the Oxygene remake with 00.db. -
Just watched Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. I gotta say, this movie is quite disturbing in its own way. And depressing too. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I prefer the japanese dub version since I usually prefer hearing the original voices.

Hmm, your link doesn't seem to work for me. It says it is not available. -
I love this kind of stuff, I remember when I watched Tobin's video of his concert, I was just amazed at it. I turned off all the lights and just watched the whole thing. It is truly something awesome that would be awesome of more folks incorporated it.

Well obviously making sure that you have those resources is important, but another reason why your brain can get tired out is because that person may not be used to doing mental exercises or using their mind beyond their usual routine. It's one of the reasons why it is recommended to do some things like reading books, running, doing math problems, etc. Like philosophy can be difficult for some folks to comprehend, think about, and apply to their daily lives because they never have done so before. It takes time so that it comes naturally to your brain. But anyways, from what I can tell most of us here are agreeing with each other.

My solution is maybe that if you have a weak brain, use it more? Sure providing fuel for the body is important but if you are just a mindless robot going through the day, it's no surprise if you have problems. Gotta get those mental exercises.

desysko replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Yea no problem. I am going to need to look at JOOF's label discog to see more stuff to listen to that I haven't yet. One thing which I'm embarrased about is that even though I have Digital Blonde's album, I have yet to listen to it and I've had it sitting on my hard drive for some years now. Probably will get to it now that I remember. -

Yea, their first album definitely required some listens for me to actually enjoy it. -

Yea, I've heard that Goa isn't the most pleasant place for electronics. Sounds like ya gotta take care of everything very well so that it doesn't break down or wear apart. But then again, I don't really plan on playing live stuff for some time since I want to focus more on my studio stuff. -

Why 10?! Why not now! -
I really enjoyed the whole album. The only one track that I thought was okay but not the greatest was Hallucinogen's. I don't know why, it just doesn't groove with me. But otherwise the rest is magic. All of them are my favorites.

Wow what a story. x0b0x luckily are cheap (well relatively compared to other places and etc) where I got it from. The acidlab miami is like 800-900 dollars when I looked it up months ago. That live stuff truly must have been great and unique. But wow is that a crazy end for that gear, for a wife and house. Not saying that I wouldn't do the same, but man it's just that music is part of my soul now. I can't imagine selling it. But still having a family to love and care is definitely great and even better.
