An old project that sadly has nothing else but this audio demo I made at the time. Can't find any of the midi or anything else. The bassline is terrible, definitely doesn't not match the rest of the track. Luckily, I may still have the sequence on the x0xb0x somewhere. Been learning more and more of my mpc, and it is quite a nice machine. Definitely don't regret getting it. https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/old-lost-project

https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/aalto-with-mpc-1000-jam Some semi-improv work with Aalto. I definitely can recommend this vst. Sort of reminds me of some of the Buchal styled sound (actually if I remember correctly, Aalto was designed with a Buchla inspiration).

Man, the bass station 2 is great for pretty much any sounds that an analogue synth can. Has a bunch of nice stuff. One cool tip is that it has a oscillator filter mod (based on osc 2) which can affect osc 1. In short, what that means that you can technically have another LFO along with the other 2 lfos.

I'll add to this thread. Sadly, my EMX has some bad pots so it isn't usable at the moment. I will have to either repair it myself or find someone cheap to do it. Just got the mpc, so I'm still learning it but it is a great machine. On the far right top corner, you'll see the karimba. Such a beautiful and soft sounding instrument. Still learning that (along with the guitar) but so far, it is amazing.

What music are you listening to right now?

been listening to Loon again. Quite an enjoyable ep. -
Awesome to see some names that I'm not familiar with. Can't wait to listen to all the tracks. Deciding is going to be tough.

Sheesh, only 7-8 days left. I have some rough drafts but nothing that's too far in the works. Feel that my stuff is still amateurish compared to most of ya guys. Submitted an older track and will see how it goes from there.

https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/short-simple-melody-karimba-with-no-effects https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/short-simple-melody-karimba-with-delayreverb Really am loving this thing more and more. I already am learning to play that Solo for Lotus song. One thing I love about this instrument that it is very easy approach and to start playing. Both links are the same melody, but the second one has effects applied. One thing I did find out is that the audio output on the karimba isn't that loud which leads to sound level problems as you can barely hear (which means I have to crank up the amp) but the output on the karimba is quite sensitive and also picks up some static noise but more importantly; since I have to boost the amp, it also boosts the electronic hums of my effect pedals (usually they aren't a problem since my synths are already loud enough so they don't need boosting). I'll probably find a work-around or just use a microphone if I can't find a solution regarding that.

https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/random-sketch-delayreverb https://soundcloud.com/deskoch/random-sketch-with-karimba-delayno-reverb Not related to goa/psy music what so ever, but I listened to this: I fell in love right away, and knew that I need to get this instrument. Luckily they aren't too expensive ($150). So much love for this thing.

A bit late, but I would like to first congratulate Proxeeus for being able to have his album released! I remember finding out about him on soundcloud a year ago or so and been enjoying the stuff he posted there. This album is great. Like how others have said, this album brings me back to the 90s. One thing I do enjoy a lot is the cover art. I know that I shouldn't let cover art "colour" my listening experience but when I get an album, I look and listen to everything which includes the art. The way I look at it, the cover art is not suppose to just be filler but it should compliment or even enhance the album and listening experience by giving an image to what the album is about. I think that this album and the art does a great job at that. One other thing I have to say is that I like how the art is not over complicated or filled with "hallucinatory" or "abstract" particles (not that I have stuff against that but variety in art is needed in the genre). Great job Richpa (assuming you made the art as you usually do for your label). So now the music. The music is just what I expected to hear from Proxeeus. I'm not saying that in a bad way but in the sense that it fits the style that he has done and it is great. I love how all the songs are not filled with a billion melodies, textures, etc that we sometimes get with Goa music (not saying that it is bad but like all things, it has limits and should be done right. Heck, I need to work on that with my music). Tracks 1-5 are awesome and I love them the most. The rest of the songs are also good but I didn't enjoy them as much (probably because I had to get to college asap and wasn't paying attention that much by that time). But I'll withhold any final thoughts until I listen to it several more times. Overall, I give this a: Definitely Recommended for Crazy Acid Heads of the Glorious Ancient Ninety's Fan of Goa Trance. Can't wait to hear more stuff from you!

So after watching the trailer for MGS 5, I fell in love with this track right away. I simply love the whole atmosphere of the track and especially when the choir/vocal part comes in around 2:25ish. After being introduced to Goa/psy music, I've been a lot more appreciative of music and especially of tracks that can really build a great atmosphere and have catchy elements to them (such as melodies, etc). This song caught my attention since it does all of this so well. I did check out some of New Order's other materials and quickly realized that their other materials isn't the same (I eventually found out about the history behind Elegia, as it was made as a memorial track for a band member of another group). Anyone know any stuff similar to this?

Hey, just wanted to say that when I tried going on your site to check for any news or updates, it doesn't work. Not sure if it's just my computer not working but I just simply wanted to notify you that. -
Eh never been a Doom fan, so I can't say much about it. But I'm pretty excited for Dark Souls 3. Fallout 4 seems nice but I will have to wait till it comes out to make a final verdict. I was a bigger fan of New Vegas than 3.

What music are you listening to right now?
desysko replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
If the past has shown us anything: 1. Folks complaining about new version being worse 2. Folks enjoying it 3. Folks who will be of group 1 and 2 saying that sure the new versions are different but that it gives us different taste of the new tracks 4. Folks who say that we are stupid for worshiping the past and that Goa is dead.... Anything else I missed? -
