  1. Went fishing in the past two days, and came back today. We caught a total of 30 or so fish ranging from northern pike to crappies to bass. Very enjoyable to eat.
  2. Just wondering did you major in history? I've been thinking about getting into history for college and maybe teaching it. (I realize that this may not be related to the current discussion and sorry for any problems).
  3. Will check it out. I enjoy things that are Chinese related. Lots of interesting history.
  4. Oh I am a big fan of Two Steps from Hell. Here's one of my favorites.
  5. I'm gonna guess you are referring to his 1994 Essential Goa Mix. I really love that mix, not just because it's goa, but the fact that he mixed in other stuff like Vangelis and stuff like that, gives a nice slow down and build up to the next songs.
  6. I love this song a lot. I feel that it does a good job at capturing the spirit of trance. Plus an awesome video that no one could hate.
  7. Have any of you guys read or watched anything related to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms? I love it a lot, such a long story, yet lots of stuff going on at the same time. Here's a youtube playlist of all the episodes of the t.v. show that they created from 2010. It has english subs so if you do not know chinese, there's no problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTax6-DUsM8&list=PL33A390995E9A7F00
  8. It would be cool if it were to work properly. But what if you are in the car or listening through something else? I think there's just too much to consider for, though it is possible. I wonder what kind of effect there would be if artist used this more often.
  9. Ya, my dad tells me about this all the time when we talk about music. How an artist is able to put his thoughts/spirit/message/etc into a song, and then it's transfered into our minds. Pretty cool concept I think. I think I'm one of the few people who didn't transition from metal. Never was a big fan of it. I sort always like electronic music, hip-hop, and jazz.
  10. Pssh, that ain't no problem. Plot armor is the best armor. Hahaha. But that's sort of one the characteristics of shounen. Not all do it, but it would be difficult to get rid of it. I usually find myself not being picky, so I don't really mind too much about it (unless it's complete bullcrap like able to destroy the whole universe/etc). One Punch Man is where it's at.
  11. I was reminded of this when I read that, haha.
  12. Hahaha, a million dollar contract. But as strange as it sounds, I'm sort of glad (or maybe a better word would be accepted?) that I went through all of that. While it did affect my life obviously, it helped me discover my passion for music, helped me mature, develop a stronger mind, and I learned to be more caring.
  13. Well glad someone had a good read. And ya it's great that trance and music in general helped me a lot.
  14. What ptn wrote is quite true, people have their own taste. But I would like to add that it also depends on what kind of psytrance you show to others. I played some of Antares and Goasia to one of my family members, and she enjoyed it. But then when I played one of the more weirder tracks of Goasia (or at least strange to the average person) or Union Jack, she didn't like it as much. I think she prefers more of the normal kind of trance, and maybe some of the morning psy/progressive stuff than most of the Goa albums I have. I know for a fact that she would fine Filteria to be a huge mess of sounds.
  15. The Xpander EP is amazing. I'm a fan of all the songs but my favorite is probably Baja. It is so relaxing. Nujabes is also nice. My favorite song from him is probably Aruarian Dance.
  16. As far as I am concerned, I don't have any major problems. I do at times suffer minor cases of sadness but that's as much as I can think of. I guess I do have some social anxiety, but I usually been trying to overcome that lately. Incoming rant: I guess the reasons for these problems is because of what happened during middle school. I like this girl (stupid I know, but I was young and had a brain of a small child, I was probably the most naive person in the planet at the time). So I wrote her a letter of how I liked her and how I would like to go out with her (stupid I know, I was really shy at the time since I grew up in a slavic family and didn't talk with americans besides a few folks). What happened next is that I apparently put the letter in the wrong locker and you can guess what happened next. The person who found my letter was not smart and told everyone around him about it. So now I looked like an idiot and she really did not like me. This was the most fearful feeling I had at the time, since I grew up very innocently and was naive and thought everyone was nice and good. So I spent the next 1-2 years sad because people knew what happened, and what was worse was that I had probably half my classes with that girl. So I dreaded classes everyday, and she tried to not acknowledge me. I became twisted to some degree and became abusive toward other girls (very stupid of me, every time I think about it now). I also developed addictions which ruined me and still affects to this day. I became very secluded from others and found an interest in music. I am blessed that other people came into my life during my later middle school years. I was able to open myself to others, and learn to be social again. I regretted that I even acted like an idiot in the past and tried and been trying to change. It was during this time of recovery when I discovered trance and I loved it right away. It was a new sound, something completely unique to me. I started to collect tons of trance music and trance was pretty much all that I listened to. Fast forward to today, I still collect trance albums and other stuff. Music is part of my life now, one of my blessings and havens in life. I have learned a lot during these years and have been able (for the most part) overcome most of my problems from the past. Then I found psy/goa music from John '00' Fleming in the beginning of this year, and throughout this year I've probably collected and listened to about 100 psy/goa albums and possibly even more. My family may not understand why I love music so much, but I would be sad if I lost the ability to hear music. And now I'm going to go to college soon and have no idea what I want to do with my life. I've thought about history, since it is one of my greatest passions ever since I was in elementary school. I guess this is the end of my rant. Sorry for a wall of text.
  17. I think that's another reason why folks don't like it. It's just pure bliss and energy (well you could say that about anything, but you get my point). Some folks just like building up, or sad music, etc.
  18. Ya, Akshan's new album was really nice, had to get the cd and glad I did.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF5w71YNOAQ Awesome song.
  20. There are several big surprises, and one of them is Algae Bloom. I was expecting typical stuff, but instead got an cool atmosphere and sounds that I haven't enjoyed in a while (not to say I don't like other albums, but this one was quite refreshing).
  21. I recommend Algae Bloom - The Blossom (you can get it at ektoplazm). I'm not sure about anyone else, but this album was quite refreshing to listen to. Especially Stop Thinking, what a great track.
  22. I've mostly traveled in the U.S. and been to Mexico. East Coast is fine, but not my cup of tea. I haven't been to the west coast, but I would like to eventually. Texas was hot as hell when I went there, but we didn't stay there for too long. But Mexico was really fun. I prefer the west coast of Mexico over the East Coast, but the place is nice in general. Best part has to be the ocean, I love the waves, especially when it's thunderstorming, the waves get a lot bigger and crazier and it's fun to jump them.
  23. Christian here. I did study other religions, but I've went with Christianity. While It would be great if everyone was a believer in God, I respect that others have their own beliefs and I don't promote abusing power just to force people to believe in other stuff.
