Woooooooooooooooooooow !!!! that's all I can say for the moment ... since the release of Electric Roundabout things are getting better and better ... mind expanding trance music that makes me shiver... 9,5/10 so powerfull
-
indeed this is not the best FLOW release I know but not really week too... the tracks that stand out for me are 1,2,4 and the lovely funky "play that dirty piano" . coverdesign is wicked and the sound quality is a big improvement to for example 'Filtered Beats'. I give this 6,5/10 ... I really wonder how the upcoming D-Tector album will sound like.

hmmm .... I must say I expected more from MPDQX . First of all there are two realy great tracks in here ... Son Kite and Vibrasphere deliver us real masterpieces . The build up in the Son Kite track is just ... , well guess ... but the rest of the compilation does not satisfy me at all ... only Etnoscope is interesting . The Ticon and Atmos tracks are a bit confusing , not realy their usual style and not their best too .. as a DS addict my rating is just 6.5/10 including coverart ... they've done much better . But I'm still waiting to get my hands on the Tegma album . that will cheer me up :-) psy bye

V/A - Blue Artist: Various Title: Blue Label: Flow Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Neum : Deep End (Rmx) 02. Morphem : Tora Toa 03. Metatron : Electronic Trouble 04. Vaishiyas : Konkret 05. Prisoner Of The Sun : Hippies With Attitude 06. Human Blue : Multipus 07. D-Tector : Scooter Intruder 08. Matenda : Prisoners Dilemma 09. Antix : Celubrious Review: After the non-toxic frequencies DJ Pena offers us a smooth groovy compilation, covered with a very nice design by Loets. Blue is a collection of crystal clear deep mind expanding trance music starting with a fresh track by Neum #1 the atmosphere is spacey , like a futuristic waterfall somewhere in the universe , this is one of my favourites . #2 watch out for this funky masterpiece. can’t stop grooving when listening to Tora Tora. The melody is so happy and jumpy. Best track imo. #3 Metatron, side project of Necton is extremely hard and stomping. The sounds are very deep and powerful. #4 to be Konkret: not bad but misses a bit of creativity, the samples in here are a bit lame but then on the other side some are funny. Strange track. #5 POTS impress me. After Retrophon on One Point Perspective they composed another deep groovy killer. Hypnotising structures and subtle synthlines. #6 Multipus … waaaaaaw, Human Blue proves again he is one of the trance professionals. The progre! ssion in here is overwhelming. The sounds at the end of the track are 4D. Handle with care, this is a pure jewel. #7 the contrast with the previous track makes this D-Tector one a bit lame. Not entirely rubbish too. #8 smooth dreamy psytrance. The flanger on the vibrating loop is really nice. One of the better trance created by Matenda. #9 Antix. This time not the two Strom brothers together but only Hayden and Leo Rowels. You can hear something is missing in here. A bit average imo but pretty nice to end BLUE. Summary: some tracks really stand out for me, like 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 … the mastering is also a step forward compared to Filtered Beats for example. Keep up the good work Flow; I give BLUE 8/10.

V/A - Kamaflage 2 Artist: Various Title: Kamaflage 2 Label: Dragonfly Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'31" Dub Trees : Buffalo (Kick Inside Rmx) 02. 07'59" Electric Tease : Feel The Funk 03. 06'49" New Disco Science Alliance : Nylon Groover 04. 08'56" Katpeople : K-Hole (Mind Kandy Rmx) 05. 08'09" Hopefiend : Fly Hard, Go High (Under The Radar Mix) 06. 08'26" Filur : Phased Fiction 07. 07'39" Triple-X : Timecrash 08. 08'49" Green Om : Sonic Seduction 09. 05'54" Bebop : Nowhere To Go Review: If you are affraid for change in music style ... then please , I repeat ... please do not stay here and fill this reviewsection with pointless comments . This is house influenced psytrance ... very progressive house material and I like it a lot , Kamaflage 2 is my favourite compilation at the moment . After several listensessions it even got better then the frist Kamaflage which was a funky fresh surprise ... #1 it all starts with a beautifull downtempo remix of Buffalo ... brings you in the wright mood with the relaxing flute melody in it .. mmmmmmm ... #2 is a french housy track by Tim healey (Quirck) and Richard Kegg , the voicesample reminds me of Daft Punk .. nice housy djemboree groove ... #3 this is a killer , N.D.S.A. (Ticon) is my favourite progressive house project and this track is insane ... a very hard kick and bassline , you can compare this one with the track on Mixture but this on is a bit more clubby with the voicesample and becomes trancy in the end ...! superb ... #4 a smooth track , and the violin part ( like in a movie soundtrack ) in the middle does it all ... then some breakbeat afterwards makes this track perfect ... #5 now the other Quirck member Mark Allen with a housy groover .. i prefer his track on the first Kamaflage but this one ain't bad at all ... #6 crystal clear Mullaert sounds inside your head , man i like this track ... no further comments ... #7 the Electric Tease duo now as Triple-X .. this time it's harder .. very hard kick and a catchy groove ... another masterpiece ... #8 Green Om with tribal psychedelic bodyshaking material ... nice subtle sounds ... #9 first released on Kamaflage 2 and then on Winter Session ... a minimal funky Droidlocker ... nice .... well , what else can i say besides that this compilation is highly recommended ... i know not everybody will like this but imo this is quality music delivered by Dragonfly (as usual)... all this progressive house is covered with a subtle layer of p! sychedelic professional touch ... my favourites are 1,3,4,6,7,8 ... rating : 9/10 ... enjoy
-
this is a masterpiece !!! i realy don't understand why so many people think this is a mediocre release ... it's pure morningtrance ... i realy enjoy this album at the fullest despite for some cheezy parts which i entend to like :-) .. this is not the lame clubby progressive cheezeraeli psytrance ... this is psytrance with style , and quality ... 1,2,4,5,7,8 are my favourites ... 9,5/10 deeeeep atmospheric soundscapes will go through your body :-)

V/A - Into The Parkness Artist: Various Title: Into The Parkness Label: Plastik Park Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 09'17" Antix : I Wanna Be 02. 08'17" Peak Pilots : Watch Out 03. 07'07" Paste : Supa Bock 04. 07'34" Tegma : Bloody Mary 05. 08'13" Buzzmonks : Insane 06. 07'33" Vibrasphere : Plastic Sharks 07. 09'05" Orion And Soulflyer : Spooky Worms 08. 10'52" Beat Bizzare : Interlude Review: The third Plastik Park minimal psytrance release and this project is a bit different , not as hard as Progopoly and Park Avenue but more the smooth and pumping morningtrance direction , a style i'm realy fond of :-) ... #1 is a dubby , dreamy , trancy groover ... the prefect opener and :-) it's produced by Antix so another glittering jewel ... #2 by Mahasukha and Hübner , this one is ok for headshaking but the samples are a bit silly , also this dubby influence ,not bad ... #3 lame , Paste has done much better imo .. I feel no need to listen to Supa Bock ... #4 and now :-) a killer !! a Tegma powered bassline , tribal structures ... this is a piece of quality psytrance , play this loud ... #5 the compilation is now becoming better and better , certainly with Insane by Buzzmonks ... a super team imo , they manage to create those hard kicks that go through your entire body , on top of it a wicked atmosphere ... #6 is my favourite , Plastic Sharks ... this Vibrasphere track is! amazing , a must have :-) ... #7 well , the trackname says it all , Spooky Worms all over the place ... mysterious touch , but ... loses interest while listening ... #8 funny sample in the beginning , and the track itself ... well it's Beat Bizarre so no need to describe ... a groovy masterpiece . It took me some time to get "into" the parkness because i was used to the hard Plastik Park style and the Sunset style for more groove , anyway ... they managed to create something new , just look at the funny fluffy cover ;-) and i give this 8/10 ... my favourites are 1,4,5,6(!) and 8 .. enjoy and handle with care ... psy bye !

my favourites are 1,2,6, and 12 ... this chillosophy 2 is amazing .. better then the first one which was a very experimental jewel .. Digital structures does it again .. man , the cover is so fantasic .. i wonder within a few years if there will be a whole sofa store in the background on chillosophy 23 .. he he , this is just amazing ... 10/10 for the coverart , and ... mmm well also 10/10 for the ambientish artwork :-)
-
the bets album so far of 2002 .. pure enrgy .. massive production .. the atmospheres , listen to the atmospheres , they suck you through the speakers ... but you have to listen to this extremely loud .. he he ... my favourites are 1,2,3,4,5,7 and 8 .. this is amazing , a new and powerfull effort for the psytrance scene .. worth 10/10 .. get this !!!!
-
.. this is awesome , only one track i don't like and that is the Defolder one , the sounds are a bit to strange for me ... killers are 1,2,4,5,8 and 10 .. i was pleasantly surprised with the gegga/pope of gegga tracks .. that's the kind of psychedelic techno i realy like :-) .. and ofcourse , all this is mastered at the high hat studio's so the soundquality is superb ... i'm realy looking forward to hear more Baluns ... no further comments - 9/10
-
this is just great , mnay fresh sounds in here , nice subtle slow biuld ups ... this album contains very trippy minimal psytrance .. my favourites are Vierenkrach and Karasu , but then they are the absolute favourites because the other tracks are pure jewels too , no bad tracks in here ... congratulations Vernunft , i give this 10/10 ... this is a must !!!! have !!!!!

V/A - Park Avenue Artist: Various Title: Park Avenue Label: Plastic Park Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'29" Paste : Flauschrausch 02. 08'42" XV Kilist : Junge 03. 08'31" Charasmatix : Purple Bass 04. 07'56" Prime Time Plastix : Neptune 05. 08'00" Paste : Play Off 06. 06'26" Amphasis : Fish And Fiction 07. 09'04" Antix : Rainstick 08. 09'14" Adrenochrome : Soul Ham Review: If you're looking for some hard minimal psytrance then i suggest you to give this Plastik Park release a try . If you liked Progopoly then do not hesitate because this is a dignified second part... now to give you a better view of the killer material this consist i invite you to walk down the Park Avenue with me ;-) .... #1 special atmosphere in here but , once again a matrix sample destroys the magic ... next time please don't copy and paste those words anymore ... #2 warning !!! heavy kick , awesome bassline and on top of it extremely great psychedelic sounds ... so freaky :-) Killian strikes again , if you were amazed by Kante , well imo Junge is even better :-) ...#3 this track is less good comparing with the other ones , there are some sounds that don't belong in here imo ... and the bassline isn't top notch either... #4 Vernunft in cooperantion with Wolgast ... the kick is insane ... goes through your body ... intelligent structures and spacy sounds as we're used from ! shiva chandra , what a production ! ...#5 another paste track and this one is much better , for some reason i realy like the touch at 2:10 , a powerboost for grooveshakers ... just perfect , no further comments ... #6 a bit slower , darker atmosphere , hypnotising but Elser can do much better imo ... #7 and look who we have here :-) the Strom bros with an uptempo freaky killer , nice subtle build up .. those guys are talented , man i like this ! ...#8 Achim with his mystical way of making another groovy piece of psytrance , not his best work but not bad at all ... well , i only can say one thing about this release , play Park Avenue loud !!! otherwise you'll completely miss the psychedelic madness effort in several tracks ... my favourites are 2,4,5 and 7 ... like Syre said -"Please give us more Plastic Park Records!" the coverdesign is very unique and funny ... great ... worth 8/10 enjoy
-
well , what's so funny about it ;-) ... it's just a matter of musical taste ... btw , the build up of Inzained (rmx) is superb ... this cd still grows on me ... and it already was SO AWESOME :-) ... a must have !

V/A - Mixture Artist: Various Title: Mixture Label: Iboga Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 07'23" Lando And Chrisma : Interesting Places 02. 06'44" Amphasis : Nasty 03. 07'51" Slugger : Automan 04. 07'52" Alegria : We Will Dance 05. 08'00" New Disco Science Alliance : Fractal Fuckers (Snorkel Edit) 06. 07'17" Eargear : Diet Disco 07. 09'58" Antix : Flipped 08. 06'48" Platform : Interport Review: Iboga exploring other dimensions ... the style on this cd is different compared with their previous releases , and I like this effort ... a bit more house influenced , very minimalistic progressive psytrance but extremely smooth and groovy . if you were amazed by the baluns 'otherwise' , you'll undoubtedly like this too ... #1 is a nice warm up, the sounds are very chilled , the groove is pretty hypnotising #2 great track by Elser , it gives a kind of slow motion dance effect to me ... the structures are stretched , ultimate groove #3 is a pumping killer , very hard bass , i realy like this... #4 one of the most smooth tracks I've ever heard , one of the best Alegria tracks with a very hypnotising melody #5 yeah , another floorkiller ... hard groovy with subtle psychedelic twisted sounds on top of it ... just perfect #6 this track shouldn't be in here , it is BAD - very lame and irritant sounds in here ... #7 oh my god , the Strom bros. do it again , clear production ... very tribal stomper ... the best track if I would pick one ... I can't ignore shaking when i hear Flipped #8 the atmosphere in here is a bit darker , the kick is nice but imo this could have been done better , but it's not bad ... overall , a great compilation ... not for the hard progressive fanatics , but more for the grooveshakers ... highlights in here are 2,3,4(!),5 and 7(!) ... this iboga release is worth my psychedelic 8/10.

V/A - Rolling Synthochords Artist: Various Title: Rolling Synthochords Label: Uphonic Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 06'53" Comadose : Alien/Banker 02. 06'34" Magus And Friends : Stepladder 03. 07'51" Irie : High Hill Road 04. 07'37" BLT And DJ Gidi : White Lotus 05. 07'17" Navajo : Fat Luzy 06. 08'12" Charasmatix : Happy Nu Yeahre 07. 07'29" Bamboo Forest : Synthesis 08. 06'46" Cybersnack : Progress Dub Review: Uphonic is a new division of Adodisc records based in Amsterdam and I must admit that this compact disk is encoded with some real quality psytrance with electro and techno influences (not at all recommended for the full-on melodic lover - this to avoid another 'minimal sucks' screwed review). the style is a bit between the Creamcrop and Resonoise releases so very dancefloor orientated. #1 is produced by M.K. Poulsen from denmark and you can hear the typical Creamcrop style in here , ... but imo the track loses a bit interest after a few minutes . #2 yes , just great ... i realy like this style ... psy electekk at it's best ... ultimate groove and in the middle a very unbalaced moment followed by an even more crazy groove ... a dancefloor killer !! #3 this is a surprise , Irie has this nice touch , very refreshing ... liquid-ish sounding structures . #4 well , this ain't bad but somehow it doesn't fit in this compilation , nice atmosphere in here ... very israeli sounding , a! bit to much for my taste ( the use in samples could have been better imo) . #5 a Navajo insane stomper , play this loud ... this is wicked #6 german tech/trance . nice rolling bassline but the percussionwork isn't good positioned imo , it get's this out of equilibrium effect while focusing on it . #7 another hard and rolling bassline , this track is very deep ... and has a great groove , as usual Bamboo Forest doesn't disappoint me at all. finishing with #8 , a bit dubby (like vibrasphere) , but then on the pumping side , this guy from berlin takes it to the edge (and a bit over too , of you know what i mean).... well , this first Uphonic release is not bad at all although the coverart is lame and this gives you this amateurish influence ... but the main importance of this project is finished ... highlights to me are 2,3,5 and 7 ... i give this a psychedelic 7/10 rating . give this a try
-
not the best medium compilation but some tracks are realy interesting imo ... for example the first one which is extremely well build up , great progression ... there aren't any bad tracks in here but some are a bit pointless ... highlights are 1,6(!) and 8 ... i like the coverart too , so i give this 7,5/10 .
-
oh yeah , the Updata (Quirk) track is brilliant ... this compilation is a bit in the Kamaflage (dragonfly) style ... the tracks in Powder are made to sound smooth . i realy like this and can't understand why so many people dislike the atomic effort , ok this is not the normal atomic style but releasing the same sounding stuff every time (like 3DV) is boring ... once again i recommend to listen to this one , this ain't bad at all .
-
i realy like this cd (much better than kamaflage 2) ... the tracks have this housy funky smooth touch i like to dance on ... this a release for the moments when you'r fed up with this hard and pumping aggressive psytrance ... it kinda gives you a very relaxed feeling ... it makes you happy ... highlights are 1,2(!),8 and 9 but the rest is also very good ... i give this 8/10 ... this is refreshing , if you're looking for something more smooth then do not hesitate and try kamaflage.
-
The Nuclear Ramjet track doesn't do it for me , i find it a bit chaotic in some parts although it's indeed a stomper but .. i prefer the smooth way ... and after a few more listensessions this cd even get's better ... upgrade to 8,5/10 ... he he
-
there are some nice tunes on this release ... but some tracks are a bit lame imo , i mean there are to many 'blips and blops' in some tracks that don't belong there ... just some filler sounds to 'finish' the track ... but ofcouse there are very good tracks present ? ... i realy like the first track but to bad it is such a short track , it's one of those jumpy groovy tracks i like. so highlights are 1,2 and 7 ... i give this one 7/10 , i realy would like to give it some more points because the effort by some artists is very well done ...
-
a few month later, there's time for an upgrade ... i realy started liking the Llopis track because after a few listens i got this organic feeling during the cd ... (organic in a way the music is taking over the movements of your body ) ... this cd is awesome ... oh yeah , the treibstoff track has this incredible spooky synthline which i like .... dragon tales 2 (the best in the series imo) get now 9/10

V/A - One Point Perspective Artist: Various Title: One Point Perspective Label: Manta Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 08'46" Tribal trick : S.t.u.g.l 02. 08:10" Cubica : Tiny shell (rmx) 03. 08:05" Adrenachrome : Flugloste 04. 08:56" P.O.T.S. : Retrophon 05. 08:29" Hinz + Kunz : Windsandale 06. 07:45" Mokie : Black Rack 07. 09:09" Pylon : Fattybomsticx 08. 07:48" Tegma : Poutsarizer 09. 08:57" Trancefeld : Odd To Even Review: this is the first compilation by a New Zealand based label called Manta ... all i can say is that we'll definitely hear more from this label. very clear mastering and imo an extremely great cover , it's always nice when you can look to professional designed cover while listening to the cd . let me introduce you to this masterpiece by giving a short trackdescription ... #1 is a good and atmospheric openener (side project of phony orphants so you know what to expect) and very tribal sounding ,what's in a name #2 is one of the best tracks of the compilation , a very jumpy track with nice percussion sounds and structures #3 is by Luthje half of P.O.T.S. , this track is ok but he has done much better imo (compared with the tracks on 'the remedy' and 'vibration 4' but still very deep sounds #4 when the guys make stuff together they do it just perfect , P.O.T.S. is another chaptor in the psytrance scene imo ... they create mystical and groovy psytrance , the way i like it ...! no doubt this track is highly recommended #5 is made by a german duo and is very ordinary sounding , not realy dark , there's a lack of originality in this #6 this is made by a new upcoming artist from New Zealand ... a good one imo , heavy basslines and lots of freaky sounds #7 another talent from New Zealand , this is fresh and dreamy ... just great #8 and now ...... a Tegma masterpiece , this is a bit different from their normal sound but it sure sound great , great emotional synthline in the half of the track , this track is a bit slow but very hypnotising ... one of the best tracks imo but not the last one because #9 is incredible , just incredible ... downtempo progressive psytrance , very catchy ... and the sounds are like waves of a warm tropic sea over your body ... mmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmm .... this compilation in its entire is highly recommended if you're looking for something new and refreshing ... highlights are 2,4,6,8 and 9(!) ... psychedelic 9/10 rating! (and 10/10 for coverart)
