i waited quite a long time to see them... last month i finally got the chance to - but heard beforehand that ian and franke dont perform together anymore (ian as saiko-pod, franke as koxbox) frank e´s liveact was disappointing, no old songs and not very danceable at all his dj set was okay...

sun project at zoom 2000 today, i dont like their style but back then it blew my mind. it was my first BIG party and everyone was going nuts. 20.000 people jumping and screaming

i was refering to the filur rmx of "curved air". but now you mentioned it i checked and saw that "curved air" was also on the "cross link" (the original and the p-woland rmx) so that was a bit confusing sorry to be honest i didnt like the p-woland rmx too much... my favorite on this one has to be the fabel rmx of ticons "electricity"

yes, its called "sensuality". its indeed a nice and laid back track. check out the bitmonx rmx too (if you havent yet)

"curved air" is a great track, but the rmx takes it to another level. morning prog at its best i second all recommendations so far and wanna add "cross link" by digital structures and iboga. nice concept - great tracks.

im no dj so i cant really judge on the technical side but the dj set i enjoyed the most was by james monroe - what a crazy guy d-nox was also pretty damn good... as some of you name tsuyoshi and dimtri as the best skilled djs: i saw both of them at the same party this summer: both played decent sets but i would go for dimitri...

imho its not just the numbers of listens, like others have mentioned, it depends a lot on your mood... and the situation. for example: i tend to like different tunes when im in my car or when listening at home. on the other hand i prefer different songs on the way to work than on my way back home (aahhh that euphoric feeling after a hard day of work when i get into my car and turn the music real LOUD ) some music is extremly depended on my mood - for example tech trance: one day it sounds just like random noise, the other day it all blends perfectly together. for me smoking pot is indeed a way to get into a "perceptive" mood in which it is easier to appreciate music (infact all sensations). of course it doesnt depend only on your momentary state of mind but on your whole musical background even to some extend on your genes i guess. i find it funny how some people accept their "taste" as something "given": they listen to some new tunes (try something new to eat ...) and immediately judge: "i like it/dont like it!" but they dont ask themselves "why is that so?" yes, it makes sense. its a very good point imho. TRY to like it, dont just accept your initial judgment! even if you dont like it after a few couples of listens (in different situations, moods... ) you can never know how it will be tomorrow or maybe in 20 years.

i listened to some techno/rave stuff from 1994-97. my older sisters boyfriend listened to techno and gave me some cds. i didnt go to any parties, mainly because i was too young after that i turned my back to electronic music until 1999: a friend of mine had this tape with what i regarded as "very strange music" on it - those weird sounds and effects immediatly caught my attention my friend hadnt been too any psy parties neither but got the tape from another (older) friend. so for me it was just music, i didnt knew about the party-experience for me outstanding on this tape was: atmos - the only process (i had no clue it was called like that, i found it more than a year later on a tip compilation) i had to know more about this music and asked my friends´ friend if he could give me another tape he told me about the gatherings in the woods or mountains of switzerland at which this music was played real loud and everyone was going crazy a few months later i visited my first party. it was in an old factory building and i was blown away by this experience. i just couldnt believe all this was going on without me for years and i had no clue nice topic!

"into the parkness" has some awesome tracks on it... the peak pilots track rox bigtime (i love those vocal samples). beat bizarres "interlude" is one of my all time favorite minimal tracks and of course antix

witchcraft basically brought me to psytrance... psycho toons was great too so i cant wait to hear that new one

funny you mention this. i often thought about it on partys. if you are really in harmonie with yourself and your surroundings you wont hit anybody when walking through the crowd. for the "trance dance" i can only say that whenever im on lsd or mushrooms and im on the dancefloor with the right music it doesnt take more than maybe 1 minute to get me into a trance like state. but it wouldnt be possible for me to walk in this state, at least not conscious. sometimes when i "come back" im not even sure if i was still dancing, because there was no "me" when in trance... and yes, im pretty sure you can reach this state (or at least something similar) without drugs. in fact there are many trance inducing methods.

"whereas Ricktal & Banzi are GMS" ricktam - ricktal - recktal - rectal

"There is GMS and then there are others that try and compete with them." and most of the "others" leave GMS far behind for me it would be ASTRIX and MR PECULIAR

"on a Wednesday night and ends at 2am" wtf? 2am??? thats the time i usually arrive at a party...

as mk-11 said, the decor has nothing to do with the artist, but with the crew that is organizing the party. so IM are only responsible for the music i saw them live twice. both this year. the first time they played a lot of new stuff, very hard dancefloor music, many buildups etc. only at some points i was able to recognize some of their songs, but only fractals. it was great and i liked it a lot. some psy-newb friends of mine came along and enjoyed it too. the second time it was completely different. it was almost like they had put their albums in the cd player. i knew every song, and most were only little different from the original version. it was not bad but for me it was more music to sit there and listen to, not something to freakin out on the dancefloor.... "Not much "live" element to it.." yeah i read somewhere they always play from dats, only few elements are "live"...

"so i felt quite sorry for people who had to trip to that mayhem." lol! thats exactly what i thought then and i only heard the end of feuerhakes set, so i didnt witness that ac/dc song :-( but did you hear (somewhen on saturday) that psytrance-version of moby´s "we are all made of stars" song? that was funny! here are already some pics online: http://bombingsociety.de/foreign/baum2000....CH_august_2002/
