  2. Psytrance is 3 things : 1_It is trance that is psychedelic, and begins with Goa trance in the late 80's. 2_It's a term used to distinguish Goa trance from less organic, more modern forms of 604. It includes darkspy, full-on, prog, and all that is not Goa. 3_It's a precise form of psychedelic trance that is not full-on, not dark and not full-on and that sounds like forest, but with a more tech-ish feeling. Example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAZ0y8kOY8k So, psytrance is : 1_all psychedelic trance including Goa 2_all psychedelic trance, excluding Goa 3_a specific subgenre

  4. Yeap. Fantasy landscapes. I've made a post about it months ago (https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/69084-connecting-psy-music-to-landscapes/). Actually, it is the reason why I listen to psy-music, because it permits me to visualize coloured visions and beautiful sceneries. There are differences, but it always take me to my own universe : deep European landscapes with magical surroundings. I think so.

  8. Congratulations man ! I feel that the track #2 (Gale Force) is heavily inspired by Morphic Resonance. Am I right ?
  9. Why am I not surprized that Proxeeus and Desysko are getting along well ? xD
  10. And you know what ? Having Goa crooks like in the 90's appears to me as a sign of good health for the scene.
  11. LOL, you're absolutely right. But you know, I wanted so much to listen to Simon 2015 that when I listened it was honey to my ears. That's what I call the true power of the mind. And I will lose all my credibility saying this (shame on me !) but since I was able to listen to this, and this my mind put his desires so hard into the tracks, that I actually find these tracks not that bad. And I listened like 2 to 3 hours to this. Now, I authorize you to kill me. Please. Beyond that matter, I hope that this topic won't shift away from its actual purpose.
  12. Hello people. It is only february, but we already had very exciting things happening in the Goa microcosm. It has never been my cup of tea, but in the golden days, there existed (and you know it) a special kind of Goa, that was either labelled as freeform or experimental. Usually, it consisted in drunken melodies with a thick bassline. But overall, it was crazy psychedelic stuff born to repell the boundaries of psychedelic madness. Example ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m08-lBRAvpA This species died out. Until now ? 02 February, Fuzzonaut releases Fictionnal Grooves, an EP reviving forgotten flavors of madness. 16 February, Ufomatka releases his debut EP (gloriously entitled : The EP) Earlier today, I had access to the Soundcloud page of a mysterious Norwegian label called SunVillageRecordings. These past few days, it has released very experimental pieces of Goa, including : _two EPs The Nature of Space and Transcended Reality _an album from Hallucinogen (insert joke) entitled The Power of the Mind All this stuff is absolutely psychedelic, and just as in the past golden days, it's pure Goa that borderlines Psytrance. Now, there is an upcoming compilation by NeoGoa that is called The World Beyond and that has been described as a "dark, twisted and very experimental compilation" including 4 tracks of unusual length. I am just poiting out what seems to be a new trend in the Goa world for the next few months. EDIT : By the way, it really do seems that Hallucinogen 2015 isn't Simon Posford. Link to the related section. EDIT 2 : Confirmed 300%. However, the fake Hallucinogen seems to be part of that experimental trend as well, so I won't remove it from this post. Be it a genuine artist or not, the style of the music isn't trivial and takes place in a certain context.
  13. Goalogique, that was so wrong. So damn wrong.
  14. Answering the main topic : my greatest disappointment so far has been this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzQn2kkuqEs I enjoyed so much Algae Forest, Bioluminescent Bay and Druids Gathering. Exceptionnal Goa Trance. I enjoy CoaGoa's style a lot, it really takes me away. But this EP was just tasteless (except the melodies in Frozen Love). I really hope that the upcoming album will be faithful to the most genuine tracks of CoaGoa.
  15. Now that you raise the subject, it seems to me that The Inner Shift is a hard to listen, and that Crossing Mind's major issue is to remain coherent within his tracks. The moods are too changing IMO, and the track fade away into a complicated shapeless cloud exhausted with emotions. That is why I prefer the first album, even if Optronic Circles had SO MUCH effects on me. As for "Back to Space", it sure is one of the best album of the newschool era, but unfortunately, I do agree with you on one point : the tracks could have been pushed further. The potential was not unleashed at 100%. Rather at 80%. Some tracks lack a bit of consistency, and it is hard to fully appreciate them while being sober. Nonetheless, it's one of my favourite ever, and I listen to it every month since 2 years.
  16. "Three dissapointments i can recall from the previous years are Back To Space, The Inner Shift" WGAT ??
  17. Yesterday I was mildly alcooholized, and I availed that moment of psychedelicness to listen to some music. Anapa just felt wonderful.
  18. 05/10 Not bad, but too generic. Surely nice for waking up or played by a random radio station, but overall not memorable. Not deep and lacks some soul IMO. But interesting use of Drum and Bass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dXfWqfcZQ8
  19. Mmmm... http://www.discogs.com/artist/653080-Solano That shall be somewhere inside.
  20. Could this be from their 2010 album Activation ?
