I really would like to hear more Journey Into Sound (JIS). He has a very promising sound. I also expect a lot from other Timewarp artists : CoaGoa, Trinodia and Nova Fractal. The Timewarp guys have a very intresting vision of melodic Goa. It's sweet Goa Trance, with a bountiful, cheery style. I hope as well that Fractal Vivisection and Lectro Spektral Daze will refine their style. Those two projects attend to renew the psychedelism in Goa Trance. Another niche of promising artists is Goalogique Records. I really would like to know how will evolve artists such as Tocomoco, Proxeeus, Minomar, etc. Those projects go back to the 90's laboratories of Trance music, bringing back the special effects of experimental EDM : distorted waves of sounds, raw synths making bloops, etc. To finish, I feel bad that PharaOm left the scene. He was an awesome guy and composer.

Is there oldschool newschool out there?
Scandinasia replied to Taika-Kim's topic in General Psytrance
The most oldschoolish sound I've heard until now comes from DJ Tomocomo (Japan) : Her soundcloud : soundcloud One good track : Effulgent moon Her tracks could have been produced in 1995. Same sound that the first Japanese Goa Trance. -
Once again, a match given to the Brazil by the referee. Too bad for Colombia ><

To make things clear, I completely disagree with the OP. I never intended to support any of what he said, and I didn't mention handicaped people. I wanted to prove him wrong, and fully agree with the last posts. I'd like to excuse myself to Balance-Music if there were any misunderstanding.

This topic must be a joke. What is the purpose of it ? One man thinks about the politics of his country, the United States of America. As he seeks solutions to the many problems that encounters the American society - somehow one of the most violent in the world - he decides to make a comparative approach of US socio-politics with the ones of another culture. Cultures need, indeed, to compare each other in order to feed themselves from the historical experiences they have issued. There are so much amazing moment in the history of politics : Athenian democracy, the Omayade Caliphate of Cordoba, the Republic of Novgorod, French Third Republic, etc. But the man decided to pick up only the bloodiest regime of history to rely on it. It must be either provocation or pervert extremism. My words are rude, but so is the deal. If this is provocation, it isn't fun, and despicable. If the man is really is excited about the National-Socialist experience, then he is a fool who believes that only violence can solve the problems of this violent society, and who then aimed to search for the most violent regime in history in order to know how to organize an ideology of violence, how to make that the Federal state apply in an etatic way that violence. What could have looked like, at first view, like open-mindness is actually narrow-mindness. What is the problem ? To answer the question, one should have a very global view of history and geography. How did the migratory movements oriented towards the US ? How were there created ? The US are facing a massive arrival from Latin America. Latin America was, for a long time, a land of immigration itself. The continent shaped itself, in a very promising way, its own model of economics and politics during the XIX th century. Many countries were experiencing all sorts of regimes : liberal, socialist, populist, etc. Those fragile experiences were ruined by the American governments during the XIXth and the XXth century, so that the whole continent was never able to stabilize itself. The US intervened many times in many countries, using assassinations, corruptions and invasions in order to create puppet dictatorial states loyal to Washington. That phenomenon, alongside with other inner problems, lead the whole continent to have poor populations, while the US were feeding on them. I am not an anti-american myself. I hate hatred. I only rely on facts, and facts are there. Just as in physics, where an action leads to reaction, in history the countries react. United States are experiencing today their past foreign policy of systematic intervention in Latin America, with the arrival of poor (and more wealthy) people from Mexico, Cuba, etc. The more a country abolish solidarity, the more social problem they face. American society is utterly disbalanced, since millions of people can't afford health services, universities, etc. Europe in much more advanced in those things. Of course, you will always have a few parasites who feed themselves on the public subventions, but this can't justify inequality. A criterium to determine the enlightment of a society is the way they treat the weakest of their members. The US is a big economy. They are able to take care of millions, and they don't. This system cannot work for long. The discovery of darwinian evolution quickly applied to politics in the XIX th century. Some, like a certain Hitler, were firmly convinced that natural selection was the driving force of the evolution of a society : the stronger survive. But another view of evolution was that human being - a being that distinguish itself from other animals by its ability to take care of one another - suggested that the developement of solidarity was this driving force. To conclude, you can always find a tear of wisdom in an ocean of brutality. Why seeking for that drop, instead of seeking for an ocean of wisdom ?

Out of the loop, need to get back into it.
Scandinasia replied to Mergi's topic in General Psytrance
Then, we have here : 5 Goa CD's (Filteria, Mindsphere and Crossing Mind for Suntrip Records, and Portamento and Artha for Cronomi Records) 2 Full-on CD's (Hedonix and Logic Bomb) 2 Psytrance/Experimental CD's (Zirrex and Procs) and last but not least, 1 CD standing for Dark/Hi-Tech with KinDzaDza. Despite the majority of Goa CD's, the psychedelic world as a whole is well represented. This list covers many styles, even if it contains pretty underground and unknown products, compared to names like Solar Fields, Ovnimoon, Lyctum, etc. One should also notice the absence of Progressive CD's. Even if this particular scene evolved in a mediocre way, some talented representants could have been pointed out, especially when it comes to mind that Progressive has become, these past few years, the dominant genre in Psytrance. There is only 1 CD for the whole darkside of psytrance, but this one sums up well how the scene has evolved and what is its potential IMO. -

Someone needs to explain me what KinDzaDza is about. I really can't get into the psycore/hi-tech universe. I enjoyed the melody in Intergalactic Boom, but it seems to me that this musical universe is even more obscure, esoteric and elitist than Goa itself, with codes that only a few initiates are able to read. -

What an exciting competition ! We alreasdy have 10 (or more) contestants. Mergi, shall I ask you to set the list of the ten chosen ones, in order that we have a global view of the contest ? -

Crossing Mind - The Inner Shift An album that every gentleman must possess in his audio library. A little aperçu of it : The Unenligntened Perspective This album deals with the adventure of a solitary mind trying to create his own Fantasy world. He will go through obstacles, doubts, wonders, and eventually experiment multiple psychedelic flavours that will all take part in this newborn world. Deep, smooth, creative Trance music with intense Goa design. Edit : My personal favourite tracks are Optronic Circles (Remix) and Magnetic Fields of Life. I also forgot to mention it was made by a supertalented French artist whose name is Stéphane Bèze. God Bless you, Monsieur Bèze. -

Asia 2001 - Vision Future
Scandinasia replied to draeke's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
I feel perplexed about this. The first time I listened to Sound Addiction, I liked the vibe, the energy. Actually, the full-onic blast was impressive, but once only. At second try, I soon got bored. Well, I eventually got disappointed, and this is quite sad, because you can hear that Mr.Thévenet put a lot of work in in Sound Addiction part. 1 and 2. He used his skill to shape very hi-tech sound and interesting melodies, but somehow, his mixture doesn't work. But I appreciate his efforts to create something new, and encourage him in his efforts. His full-on is indeed pretty unique, pretty exotic. IMO he'll need years of experience, but he might be able to produce some fine psychedelic products with these sounds. Or so I hope. I'm currently listening to samples of Vision Future. It's a repetition, a clone of those two past albums. Mr. Thévenet shouldn't repeat himself like that. He made a lot of tracks that sound the same, and should - IMO - consider to renew his inspiration. (According to Discogs, Vision Future contains no less than 43 tracks !) Beyond all this criticism, I hope he really does enjoy himself doing this. Indeed, the most important is that he gets fun -
Sure I'd be interested ! He's one of my favourite oldschool artist. And his last Album, Conception, was a very interesting attempt to make newschool Goa trance, and proved he was still a genuine artist. Moreover, I'd really like to know his feeling about nowadays Goa scene. If we have that interview, that'd be great. Thanks a lot for trying !

Trinodia - Ignorant Raw, pumping dark Goa Trance with "psytrance" hints. -
Oh yeah, I pet Goa II by Heliophant. I've seen it two years ago, and I cannot forget it. 10/10 A short animation video : The saga of Bjorn.

I'm so disgusted. In France, only 44% of the matches are available in the free TV channels. Here, if you don't pay for private channels, you can't even watch half the matches ! We can't even watch all the quarters of finals. I'm a little bit sad.

Indeed, Brazil monopolized the ball. However, the Croatian deserved a better score : this fake penalty accorded to Brazil was abosolutely ugly. And I still don't understand why the Croatian goal has been refused.
-
Good luck Croatia ! I will have a thought for you.

Progressive in general is boring, but there are some gems. Full'on has really become annoying and useless. I've always found suomi as well to be boring, but I don't know it well enough to make a general statement about that.
