@Desysko Hi bro ! A few months ago, I've told Jérôme Proxeeus that I'll make a review for his last EP. It's time for me to keep my promise. When I want to do it, I will. Then, if others release really please me, I'll try to. -

@UFOrb Thanks bro ! Have a nice day ! -
Greetings everyone. After one year of absence during which I found myself unable to participate to this forum and to go at events, it seems to me that I could share with you the tracks that touched my heart in the course of that long period. These past few months I was less involved in the music than before. I did not pay attention to many releases and found not much interest in most of the psybient, progressive and goa stuff that came out. I really focused on listening on what I liked and here is a list of the tracks and releases that really moved me and that I remembered. Top 5 best tracks. These tracks have, to my ears, attained perfection. I know that I'll still be listening to them in years, and I find them to be absolutely amazing. N#5 : Arronax - Dive into Merak (NeoGoa records) A very pleasurable track that sounds like a dream. An overworldly adventure in a Fantasy realm populated by magical creatures and filled with grandiose landscapes. The intro is smooth and passionate. The track is litteraly epic. It makes me melt inside of me. This is what makes me listen to Goa music. This is my inner universe. But there is a little something that prevents me for calling absolutle Masterpiece. It's just a masterpiece with a non-capital M. Maybe because it's too repetitive in the middle. 8,8/10 N#4 : Suduaya - Astral Lullaby (Melusine records) Suduaya is one of the artists that got me into psytrance, but I really was disappointed by his recent releases. The psybient he makes tends to be commin, and his trance became very boring (generic prog). But this one really stands out. This is the vibe that made me love this guy in the past, but it is here taken to perfection. The angelic and serene atmosphere is perfectly crafted, and it conveys out-of-this-world emotions. The final melody of this track is more than awesome. This track is so positive that I immediately feel good when I listen to it. It is extremely sensitive and emotionnal. 9,0/10 N#3 : Katedra - Radiointerference (Global Sect Music) Soundcloud preview : edit : full track here Katedra project is one of the most exciting project that is. I get completely excited everytime he releases something on his Soundcloud's wall. I have one hope : that he finally releases an album. His released tracks are very rare. So, when Mystery of the Crystal Worlds was released, I got in a hurry and listened to this sound. And wow, it is extraordinary ! No Goa artist sounds this way. It is very profound, very calm-ing and very subliminal. Usually, listening to Goa music requires some sort of effort on the behalf of the listener, but Katedra has a special vibe that immediately gives you a feeling a warmth, of comfort. It puts you inside a cocoon of sound and makes you experience floatiness. A wild stream of well-being. 9,3/10 N#2 : The Digital Blonde - ARGO (JOOF recordings) Expect the best from JOOF. This track transcends the realm of trance music. It is pure atmospheric vibration with cinematic effetcs. ARGO is the name of a legendary ship well known in Greek Mythology. Here we immediately understand that it is the name of a spaceship exploring the outer realm of the know universe. This is some top-quality music. Every sound is perfect. The atmosphere is unique. The identity, the concept is very pronounced. You forget about the genre, you forget about the instruments. You just dive into a universe of sounds with many subtle story-telling effects and crazy melodies. The feeling is like that of watching a Sci-Fi movie, a very good one, of the like of Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within. What is awesome about this movie is that I am more prone to affiliate it to a family of Sci-Fi obras than comparing it to other pieces of Trance music. This is an example for every trance producer. 9,5/10 N#1 : Marian Closca - Autobot (Pulsar recordings) Do you know what is full-on Trance music ? This is : 9,6/10 Other tracks that got my attention : Nova Fractal - Perception (Sky Technology Remix) The melody is epic ! One of the best. Too bad that the track only keeps repeting it. Nova Fractal - The Wheel of Time A long awaited instant-classic ! I'm still waiting for the remix or the version that'll propell it to abolute perfection. That day will be bright as the Sun. E-Mantra - Leviathan : When I listened to this for the 6 first times, I had goosebumps on my arms every time and all along the track. Sky Technology - Be Like Water Very good ! I was really surprized at this one ! Top quality psybient ! Bravo ! Tegma - Odysseus Great prog. Elegy - Saturn It is rare that such progressive trance takes me so high into space. It's very formulaic, but it works ! Psy-H Project - Krishna or Maya Outstanding Goa blast ! Very good. Deserves a very good rate ! I am sure that I've forgotten some. Three releases that got my attention : 3_Profondita - Ciel (Altar Records) Refined Chillgressive. Perfect for going to sleep or long bus trips. 2_Ultimate Xperience - Lazarus Rising (NeoGoa) I like it. 1_Astropilot - Relicts This album is amazing. I recommend it ! Dmitriy Redko is really one of the best artist out there. This album is a summary of what he does best. It is exotic, elegant, extremely chilling and sensationnal. Top psybient. Releases that I am awaiting for : Crossing Mind, Merr0w, KOB, E-Mantra, Khetzal, Artha and UX mostly. + Morphic Resonance is to release some remixes of Pleiadians, and it's gonna be great ! I hope that you will enjoy these. Peace. ScanD.

Greetings. I will sum up my feelings in a few words. This is one of the few release that got my attention these past few months, and I was very eager at listening to it. It is not easy to put words on the impressions. Overall, this album is very well crafted. It has the guts of early German EDM and some Gothic fragrances and a great effort was made on the "beating", on the rhythm. People say it sounds like full-on, but most of the tracks are really faithful to the Goa spirit. It is Goa Trance. This is a quite emotionnal album. It is poetic, strange, and uplifting. Some moments are trippy as fuck. It's not like the 1st album. It has more joy and gladness in it and the technique sounds very different as well. I don't rate it 5 out of 5 because to my ears it is not perfect. It is excellent, but not as much as some pieces of Astral Projection, Asura or the Digital Blonde. Melodic effects could be a bit more stirring, and the atmosphere tends to be diluted by the repetition of the loops. There is a tiny bit of blandness here and there. It needs to go deeper I think. According to me, this album stands out. It is refreshing and original, and it is like the first stage to an upcoming masterpiece. I am very happy to be able to listen to this. Special feelings for Kingdom of Heaven and Andromeda. KoH is a soul-stirring track with a lot of madness and passion. The melodies and the "textures" are amazing. It has cinematographic effects that are much enjoyable. The concept of the album is also very cool (Gothic story, feeling of a decayed Christian world, creepy mysticism, intertwining of Heaven and Hell...). I like it. Great electronic music. Thank you Neogoa and Mr. Kylven. You are a real artist. We need more.

Recent attempts at fusionning Trance and Psytrance

Just adding these ones : John 00 Fleming - The Imperial Echoes of Devastation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJgDxLO9Tt4 Neelix - Leave Me Alone (Simon Patterson Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58kKUEKrkRw Spacenode and Manifestor - Interstellar https://soundcloud.com/manifestortrance/spacenode-and-manifestor-interstellar-bootleg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs86B2oa6m0 -
Hello people. Recently, I've noticed that these past few weeks there were quite a few artists and labels who attempted at producing a style merging elements of psytrance (both classical, Goa oriented and modern, full-on oriented) and uplifting trance. What do you think of this kind of new sound ? In my opinion, it's really refreshing, as it compensates the disparition of Hard Trance. A few tracks : Ellez Ria - Rewire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3ip6klvCMw Notice the Goa twist @ 03:30 Robert Vadney - Spaceman's theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T1HJ_5LC6E DJ Orkidea ft. Activa - Z21 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EE1wioeqz4 Check out his last album ! Marian Closa - Autobots https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKauHgic9ZQ Ghost Rider - We Are the People https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xdturUqGrI Notice that all of these releases are very recent. What do you think ?
-
Indeed, that is strange. At first I thought I'd be listening to it again and again. But in fact, it's a secret track. I can only reveal it to my ears once in a while. It's like performing a magic ritual in a crypt with people clothed in black. You can't make it all the time. There are occasions. Actually, this track is difficult to listen. I need to feel full-powered to be 100% absorbed. But right now, I'm having such a good time ! I think I'll repeat it as you said.
-
Well, I'm having a new listening of the Gate, so if I'm tripping on it again, you'll be informed.

Oh, man, you gotta try it. It's very nice to play, but it can be heartbreaking and frustrating. But until your game over, you have hours of unforgettable fun. White is a good version but I prefer White 2. I've tried White with that setrules by 6 times and I couldn't reach the 3rd gym before dying, due to a deadly Sigilyph in N's team that is very fast and very strong. If you got bored of old versions that you played many times, you can rediscover them with the Nuzlocke Challenge. And if you got bored of Nuzlocke challenges, you can try harder variants, like Wedlockes, Monolockes, Apocalockes, etc.
-
I beg your pardon ? A super review of what ?
-
I like to play Pokémon, but with the setrules of a Nuzlocke challenge. Basically, it's Pokémon in hard mode, and consists in applying 3 rules to your usual Pokémon game : 1_You can only catch 1 pokémon per area. An area is defined by its name. You can only catch the 1st pokémon you meet in that area. If the first pokémon you meet in that area escapes or dies, you lost your chance to catch one in the zone. 2_If your Pokémon faints, it's considered dead and has to be boxed permanently or released. There are no exceptions. 3_Nickname all your Pokémon. I'm about to play Platinum with some extra rules : 4_ Playing in set mode. 5_No items allowed during the battles, be it healing or boosting items. 6_Legendaries can't be caught, but has to be defeated. 7_Exp share is not allowed. 8_No pokémon trades. 9_If one of my pokémon attains a level that surpass the next gym champion's level, it has to be released. 10_ I can't have any Pokémon in my computer. Which means that I can only play with 6 pokémons max. If I lose 1 battle, it's game over and I have to start the game all over again. If I catch a 7th Pokémon, I either have to release it or to release one from my team so that the latter replaces it. If none of my Pokémon can learn surf or cut and that it prevents me to go further in the adventure, it's game over. It's fun.

Holy Jeez ! I'm blown by this track ! I just love it ! 8.7/10 and a big THANK YOU ! I just love how it is Goa trance melting in pumping Tech-Trance. (A bit stomping though.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnMgDNShAbk

Too much of it indeed (refering to the classical pseudo-middle-eastern melodies sustained by a semi full-on bassline), but there's overall a lot more a variations within the Goa scene. The same goes for psybient and forest, that offers as well more variations, even if there are a lot of similar sounds. Prog and much of dark are pretty monolithic IMO since these past years.

Amazing ! On a more serious side : WTF Altar ? I love your covers, but this... OMG you fucked up on this one.
