    I've never seen the sky as a dome, or a screen. The daysky, to my eyes, have always been like an infinite ocean, and the clouds like mountains. I've always seen it as far more huge than the Earth, as a whole dimension in itself, superseding our world. As for the nightsky, to my eyes, it doesn't exist. Because at night, there are no frontiers between up there and down here. At night, world is part of the sky.

    While you know I am a passionate defender of new-school, I shall also recognize that many artists keep applying the same formulas, and sometimes it gets boring. But every time I hear a new gem, all the boredom is wiped away. And gems, we have more and more. These guys have so much potential. They need to be supported, and sometimes, they do surpass my expectations. The World Beyond, Kolovrat, Psytrance Powers my Space Engines, The Illusions of Reality, Atlantis EP, The Call of Goa, The Inner Shift, Mother Pitch, Back to Space, are so amazing. Seriously. This is the way to future. I am the first one who gets irritated each time a guy falls into the same formulas. CoaGoa's last EP, or Perpetual Intelligence were very displeasing to my ears. So what do we do ? Do we keep saying : They're so cliché ! Let's give up this scene ? Or do we support them by intelligent criticism ? Or do we produce our own music according to better standards ? Or do we spread the higher spirits of the Goa wit, by promoting a positive emulation ? I will keep standing here. I will make reviews, I will share the sounds, I will criticize, I will be harsh sometimes, I will also love the releases, but in the end, I wouldn't have be a complainer. I'd have, even in a very humble way, contributed to this scene. And you, what do you do ? What will you do ? Keep complaining ? Or stand on the side of creativity ?

Now, you do have a committed a monstruous sin toward the Goa God ! You have lacked some faith ! May you be forgiven, o fool ! On a more serious basis, you base your thinking over a misconception. That conception is that this scene is only about old guys who gigged in the 90's, and that Newschool producers are all frustrated by that time. That is wrong. We are quite a few to be young here. In the scene, we have many people that are born between 1990 and 1995, and that haven't known the Golden days (I myself am 22). This scene is younger that you think. Of course there is ! You don't know this scene enough obviously. The Neo Goa scene is at the moment is the most creative niche within Psytrance these days. There are many examples, but i'll just tell you to listen to Kolovrat by Lunar Dawn. Give it a head, and you'll see how modern and creative they are. Also, I will confess something. I don't really dig Oldschool Goa. I love Newschool. It's more modern, less dusty, and in my view, Neo Goa is not the attempt to resurrect an old corpse, it is the ultimate developpement of modern psytrance. It's something fresh that brings more magic to the scene, and that gets more and more trendy. So, no obsession with Oldschool. Also, some artists do produce Oldschool style. They do it very well. Space Tribe and Dickster - Alien Sex Fiend OOOD Astral Projection - Mugen remix KURO, Masa, Matsuri The Muses Rapt - Human More generally, there's nothing wrong with keeping coming again and again to Oldschool. It's just like metal and rock music. There are classics that people never get tired to listen. Cheers !

    @ Lightforce Hey ! As for EBM, since you mentionned the many genres that beget Goa Trance, I found it was more coherent to mention in one word the genre that contributed the most to the genre. Regarding minimal. Well. You're right. You just updated an old misconception of mine, as I just re-checked my playlists, and indeed, Minimal sounds more like a variation of Progressive. I think that Minimal was refered as such during the early 2000's, and today in Brazil, they play many tracks that are built mainly over a mere offbeat, but that's related somehow to general prog. Tech Trance is rare as well. Morning too. It had the potential to become a genre per se, just as Twilight, but it never did. Yes, of course, and I implied it. But as Hi-Tech is born from Psycore and that they share more common points than differences, it seems to be that it's more appropriate to gather them under the same section (Psycore + Hi-Tech). You're right. But what I state is that, in a few words, you can enlight your definition and convey a more precise idea. Your discographies are really perfect, so why not explicitating a bit more what all the albums of a section have in common ? That's my point Sure. But I didn't imply that. Don't get me wrong, it's not about drawing thick lines around the genres. Synthetic is the good way, but on the other way, if you detail what a genre is, one have to make things clear, so that no confusion arise when it comes to other genres. One has to let room to a broader definition or a future evolution, but using more words to restitute a clear image is not incompatible with it. Psybient is like Psytrance. It's a cluster of genres. Now, I went into details, but my purpose was not to make it appear in the presentation. My point was that perhaps it was good to show psybient as an umbrella for many subgenres. (Also, don't forget to say that Psybient is not Trance). By the way, why do say "le" psybient instead of "la" psybient. Isn't it a feminine ? What do they say on trancegoa (I rarely visited) ? On the other hand, I always said "le" nitzhonot.

    @Rotwang I edited, and replaced these words by "agressive". Let me be clear, these words aren't meant to be negative. Darkpsy explores the darkest feelings of human psyche. The samples resonates with distorted hallucinations, glimpses of nightmares, and the background is a tumultuous symphnony of power. It is dark. It sounds dark, as in a demonic way. It's the esthetic of it. These words were blunt. They may not be the best, but I maintain them. On the other side, Darkpsy also takes you to a very cybernetic universe filled with Sci-Fi effects. What do you think ?
