Well, nice music & nice people. However, the place is not suitable for such events. Too small! Not enough space to move, let alone dance. Inhaling all that smoke in such a suffocating atmosphere was really unpleasant. I guess you can't expect a lot more in the centre of Athens, but still... Also, there was zero decoration, so the ambience was not what one would expect going to a psy event. My 2 cents

Oh I am going to Athens tomorrow, thanks for posting this! I'll try to come!

Phthalic Vibes is clipping in the last minute. Since no one else mentioned it, I wonder if it is just my copy. Hmm, probably because this CD's duration exceeds 80 minutes...

Different Shapes - Searching For Light (El Camino) has already been released on Ektoplazm. Can they participate in the contest??

+1 to what Mergi has said above I haven't bought second hand CDs so far and I don't intend to. It doesn't support the artists, and the prices are higher than brand new CDs. Why would I do it? I'm fine if I can't have a lot of things released years ago, I can live with that ! Plus, there is a lot of old school stuff re-released nowadays. There's so much good music to listen to, I don't even have the time to listen everything. I very much dislike this part of the scene (buying and selling music at exorbitant prices) and, honestly, I think it's silly and futile. No, thanks, I'll pass. I'm not going to enter into this vicious circle!

That's a bold statement you made there. Maybe you need to clean your ears!! Is is just me or Etnica's track sounds less loud than the rest? Thumbs up for the compilation!

Nice list, thanks for writing. I'm sure there are a lot more left out (like Doof, GNOTR, X-Dream). That's why it'd be interesting to see which ones would make it in the top 10 if many people voted in a poll.

Yes, I've actually checked some of Basilisk's Essential Selections. But it would be far more interesting to see the opinion of 20-30 people combined. To make it easier, you could choose 20 albums or exclude compilations (or make 2 different lists). And in the end we'll have a nice long list of classic albums.

Hello psynewsers, here's a suggestion/request for the oldschoolers: I didn't find any "best of" poll from the earlier years. Personally, I'm particularly interested to see results from the years '96 & '97, as there was a lot of output those two years. At first I was introduced to psy music through the free releases in Ektoplazm and then, when I discovered Psynews, I used the "best of" polls as a reference to discover more music. So, I think that a "best of" poll from those early years would be useful for the new generation and for those who are relatively new to the scene, and want to dig into the '90s and not miss the best goa trance that was made during those years. What do you think? Anyone interested?

It's not easy listening but it gets better and better after a few listens. I think it's hard to listen it in one go, especially the first time.

Mystic Change & Transfusion my favourites. Most of the tracks are pretty good. Great album for sure

I actually like Sun In My Hands more than Children Of The Stones. My favourite would probably be Fundamental Hippie. Wonderful compilation.

MANA SOURCE - KANJI NEW GOA CD
Kitrinos replied to Submoon-Records's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
In case you cannot read Japanese: If you are lying about your identity, eventually everyone will know, and I thinkyou will just make a fool of yourself. Anyway, don't get me wrong, I wish you all the best whoever you are. (Even if you are Filipe!) -
Some of you older people who have been listening this music for 15+ years keep saying that the the first party you attended in '97 or so was awesome etc., but now you are disappointed. Guess what? I will always remember MY first party, 2012. Goasia on the deck, me dancing blissfully and my mind is ready to explode. Because it was the first time I listened to goatrance, it will always have a special place in my heart and I will never forget it. I am tired of hearing the complaints of (older) people who don't like the music anymore. Let me tell you something. Maybe you are tired of psytrance in general. But you only enjoy listening to oldschool Goa because of pure nostalgia, because it brings you memories. Especially if you don't like any other sub-genre of psytrance, I think this is the case. And don't forget, in '96 psytrance was goatrance and vice versa. If you don't like goatrance, don't listen to it anymore, you don't have to . I just don't like it when people diss the new artists and newschool goa like this. And as you may have noticed, most (if not all) younger listeners like both oldschool and newschool and some like only newschool. I haven't heard any 20 year old complaining, have you? My 2 cents!

Yes, it's experimental and discordant. Too much for me, I can't handle it!

I will just comment on the 3rd one, as no one did. Seriously? Unearthly, one of the biggest disappointments? What?! It's one of the best chillout albums, I'm sure a lot of people agree on that.
