Are there any "next level" goa/psy producers right now?

Yeah Lunar Dawn is good, I really like their use of folk elements mixed with goa -

Haha, I don't think this is all that different (although from your SC it does seems like you write some stuff that's not goa). But I do like your goa tracks a lot and will definitely be on the lookout for your release on Goa Madness -
One of the things I like most about goa is that I feel like its got a really high level of standards to be begin with, and you can look at pretty much any record from like Suntrip or similar label and say that every band is writing great stuff with great sound design. But I am wondering if there is any artist or band that stands out to you guys as writing really mind-blowing (weird, different, beyond other acts in some way) stuff, in terms of either song writing or sound design? I love the classic goa sound and don't think it needs to be combined with any other styles, but is there anyone out the taking the classic goa style and merging it with other stuff to evolve it (or the other style) to another level, for lack of a better term? I guess I always like to find the boundaries of things to know the limits of what exists, so I want to find the most craziest, out-there goa/psy that exists so I can hear the extremes of what is possible.

Sounds really good. Dig that melody at 3:19 and some great acid lines
-
Sounds good man, it's definitely "psy". Production and sound design are solid, the bass and kick are on point and I really like the filtery synth stuff (I listened to several tracks, so I'm speaking on all of them). I personally like more melodic stuff, but your stuff is well done and psy people will like it

The classic guys seemed to have more songs closer to 135. MWNN, Astral Projection etc

This is one awesome feature of bandcamp, it saves a list of everything you've bought and you can easily go to the site and download these things again, or download them to another computer or whatever. Having your HD crash fucking sucks but at least that's something of a consolation.

I just started going mostly digital with music purchases too. Came about after I moved 6 months ago and realized having to move like 600+ CDs was really fucking annoying lol. It's still hard for me to actually click that buy button in bandcamp, but at least bandcamp is a great site that makes it really easy. My only concern with digital releases is that very few, if any, labels are utilizing that format to the fullest. I mean now you've got much less overhead for releases, why not include more stuff in a digital release? I mean most of the time you don't even get the artwork, you just get a jpg of the cover. Oh well, still easier than storing hundreds and hundreds of CDs, I suppose...

Yeah that's true, I loved From Other Spaces but don't like the subsequent albums that much, like you said very predictable and pretty same-y throughout. And the stuff I like the most are those moments of "oh hey that sounds like something off a track on From Other Spaces"

Thanks guys!! Any ideas on labels that actively release this kind of hybrid psy style? Always afraid that it won't be enough of whatever style to fit with labels that generally focus on a specific style of psy

Hey all, I've been producing Industrial music for the last 10 or so years and have released on some known labels in that genre so I like to think that I am ok at music, but I think the standards are lower in that genre. Anyway, long story short I have been going back to my "roots" in psy/goa and that's all I want to write these days. My first love is goa, but I can't ever stick to writing one style so my stuff is a mix of the things I like from various genres which include Goa, Prog, Darkpsy, Tribal, and Industrial. I have no idea if this stuff fits into a particular style or even sounds good to psy people. Thematically these songs draw from ancient egyptian mythology and alchemy. Any feedback is welcome!! https://soundcloud.com/wormsoftheearth/tebat-neteru-new-psy-stuff-preview

Got the download the other day, it's really great. Super glad to hear some new huge tracks from Psy H Project, Alienapia and others. Can't wait for the hardcopy to come!! -
Another "industrial guy who incorporates a lot of psy influence"
-
Been really digging this guy recently. Any recommendations for similar stuff: complex, dark, mechanical, kind of "industrial", lots of rhythmic synths, etc? I really love his basslines and hats. I know he just put out a new album literally the other day and I need to check it out
-
This guy does Industrial but typically (especially on this album) has a big psy influence
-
Music like FLA without the screaming vocals
winterelegy replied to Trance2MoveU's topic in Other Electronica
Have you checked out the FLA album Civilization? It's got a lot of psybient influence, like Juno Reactor type stuff. Some harsher songs, but a lot more chill than their older records. That's my fav one by them since it's got the psy influence even though most industrial people aren't as into it. Also have you heard their side project Intermix? It was more tribal & no vox from what I remember, although I haven't heard it in a long time; I own an album but not sure where it went. Also if you want dope tribal stuff like Geomatic check out all their stuff because it's AMAZING and also This Morn' Omnia, Tzolk'in, Empusae, and Flint Glass (not tribal but awesome). Maybe my band Worms of the Earth too, its industrial/tribal (noisier/harsher though) and on the same label as that Geomatic release -
That album is so fucking good!!!! This is my band, speaking of cyberpunk (Neuromancer reference!) and industrial. Definitely influenced by VAC

Musicians who you wished released a full length album?
winterelegy replied to exotic's topic in General Psytrance
They already have 1 full lengh out but I REALLY want a new full length from Khetzal (it's been over 10 yrs already wtf!!) and Artifact303. Both have been doing comp appearances, and Artifact303 at least had several new songs in 2015, but I'd really love a new full length from each of them -
Looking for new music - tribal/ethnic influenced

Whoa, listening to the album now and yes this is great!! -

Thanks all, will check these out! And yep I definitely have Khetzel and love his stuff -
Hey all, I'm from the Industrial scene so I'm kind of a noob when it comes to the psytrance scene. I love the music but don't know anything really about most of the subgenres or trends in the scene over the years. Anyway, I mainly listen to neo-old school (I guess it's called) Goa, mainly all the stuff from Suntrip and then some other stuff like Artha, Ephedra, Frantic Noise, Psy-H Project, Pleiadians, etc. I am looking for new music to check out that sounds like that (dense & atmospheric + lots of melodic stuff with good/modern production) but that has more tribal/ethnic elements in it, like specifically "egyptian" or "middle eastern" sounding stuff. I guess sort of like Ra but with more traditional instruments and percussion. Thanks
