I know, there is a FAQ but I would rather discuss it in "real life" if you will. Besides, this forum isnt THAT active so I dont see the hurt in a few perhaps 'obsolete' threads. I have almsot completed a 40ish minute album and I would like to upload it to Ektoplasm. few questions. 1. Do I supply the mastering or does Ektoplasm? 2. What are the criteria for it being published? Ive heard alot of music on Ektoplasm that sound quite bad so I guess its fairly low? 3. In what way should I contact Ektoplasm in order to upload and share my music? 4. Are there other sites like Ektoplasm in which to freely promote your music? 5. Do I supply my own Album Cover? I.E, do I contact an artist and ask him to make one, or does Ektoplasm do this? Thank you! And any other tips and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I dont know how many watts those speakers are capable of, and I dont know how many decibels they can put out. My advice was that of a general advice. And also, the type of speaker is often irrelevant to the damage it can create.

@psyt3k Haha awesome bro! Thats exactly like me. Even though I dont DJ, I still am very perticular when it comes to categorizing and labeling music. I would also guess I have about 20-30 subgenres of Goatrance I name them a little different than you though, but I 100% wholeheartedly understand exactly what type of music you mean when you say for example "Twilight Acid Goa" and "Melodic Acid Goa" Thanks for the tip regarding those VA I will check them out !!

Radi: It is possible to angle your speakers in a more directional way than what you currently have. I suggest you do that aswell As for damage.. Well, hearing damage is very real. I also have read that your (Radi) ears are very sensitive. It will only be a matter of time before you damage your ears, and then there will be no recovery. So please be careful when listening at high volume. Just because it has been fine for a long time doesnt mean nothing can happen tomorrow. That said, I also love listening to music at high volume. Just like the rest of you, the music comes alive in a special way. But I try to limit that high volume exposure to about 1-2 hours a week.

Could you give us an example? Beacause even if the track is break-beat or something like that, its still 4/4. I cant really think of any other time signature used in IDM.. 3/4 for example is iirc Waltz, one-two-three|one-two-three But if you have any examples (of for example "Ubar Tmar stuff") please post as Ive never heard any before

I know at least sometimes Erez Eizen of Infected plays all the melodies live. But then again he is a musical artist since he was a little child, so he is talented beyond goatrance. I know Simon Posford tweaks alot and does alot of live-mixing but he doesnt play anything per se, live. Uhm.. I cant really think of anyone besides Erez at this point. Most just do some tweaking (cutoff, resonance etc). They rearrange their tracks beforehand to make it sound unique to the live event, and not just like a recording. However some artists like Astral Projection does exactly that. Load up their dat and hit play... thats about it

I think its cluttery and it confuses the eye when you are scrolling to just see a bunch of youtube videos all over the place. Im on mobile most of the time so Id rather just read the artist and title.. A link would of course be extra nice because then it would open in the Youtube app... I guess Im wierd then for thinking its annoying.. But nevermind, lets not drift the thread that way.. Keep on posting

I have listened to the samples and... WOW. This might very well be the most definate goatrance VA to date. Im serious. This is 1997-1999 all over again. Fokin amazing. Fede, you are truly legend.
