  1. German girls might be the worst choice to speak about music and styles.... I tried to but they name styles totally different and do not know bands. Remember the dark clothed one ca. 25 in a clinic I said I listen "Electro" (as EBM,Indus was among my faves along with psy and metal). We tended to say Electro for EBM all the way in the scene. Do you like Front242 ? Never heard of that. But they are one of the Top 3 famous bands. Turned out with "electro" she meant some lame indie-emo shit
  2. Tbh I like Lady Gagas early Piano music more than this
  3. First of, I feel with you. Also with the animals in this thread. I also had 2-3 experiences in this regard... Can you perhaps tell me what band it was and in which city ?
  4. Pls. start. I think its a hoax... alien propaganda... like UFOs etc.
  5. Neither Meshuggah nor COB are my cup of tea... both sound to "plastic" to me. However 3-4 MH albums are really cool. The Blackening + Burn My Eyes come to mind first.
  6. We can make a case in regards to psy with all its symbolism. This case however would be only a strong one, if many more artists would make it "big": Almost no one know psy or goa anyway. It was shocking to see that so many ppl. think this pathetic band "eagles of death metal" would ply death metal. They do not even play metal. That shows even a style pretty popular (DM) is not recognized by most "normal" people. How would it be psy ? We can only look in the most famous band(s) if they have satanic/illuminati symbolism. Cause only these would make an impact. And it must be signed by a big label. Most popular would be Infected, right ? So one could examine them. BTW: Their (eodm) popularity and sales rose like a rocket after the Paris event - which was most likely another "false flag"
  7. FLA have some instrumentals, even techno + goa mixes... Ah and check PRO TECH, which is basically another sideproject from Bill I believe but pretty unknown. It has simmilar sounds to FLA but more techy and no vox.... I probably can find 10 more tracks, which would fit. But not complete band names tbh. I mean complete albums eg. of this style are quite rare. You can find however albums with instrumental EBM/Indus tracks but they do not have the FLA touch of course. If ur looking for the FLA sound. Also I would like that you give FEEDBACK on the suggestions given. I am always at a loss when ppl. ask for music, ppl. provide it but they dissapear without saying what & why they liked or hated the suggestions
  8. Thanks for "7" Ollie, I also rate your track a 7. First off I heard several Darshan, but somehow their style could not convince me like some others. Also I am a bit tired of 303 meanwhile. Even if is is not used so blatantly than others here @ Manuser: For you track almost the same goes like said above. However I also would say its a bit too long for my taste (for this style).. I give it a 6.5 therefore Next one:
  9. LOL I checked some stuff from the 90ties out, ans seems I missed 3 or 4 releases, among them Sandman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UySPrgigICg This sounds like instrumental EBM
  10. Of course cool track, 8/10 I think 3 or 4 are even better. Soemthing which should fit the more darker mood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8-cr9-gLIM
  11. Even bands/labels post their their stuff to YT, so it seems quite a legitimate source nowadays. And most of the YT stuff has copyright, but it seems labels/artists are actually (in most cases) fine that their stuff is on there. Otherwise most of it would be taken down long ago. This is because YT/Google has a kind of monopoly in this market. But this is not only the case here, in any music forum YT links are number 1, with almost nothing coming in the 2nd place. I am fine with that eg. Soundcloud links sometimes will not play and some other issus (they seem to use more pc resouces than YT for some reason): But I agree a page with lots of YT videos may be annoying. The solution is easy tho, disable flash and/or java (cant remember which one maybe both) Their are browser plugs which can do this eg.
  12. This was my impression too.... I would like to make a compilation from them. We can find some good tracks on their other albums too. But sadly they have not the consistent (musical) quality like Genesis has. However the mastering of Genesis will not fit in with the other tracks. If I had the raw audio tracks without any master applied I could master it myself and get a better result (I did this already with an old EBM track and it worked it sounds much better than the original imo).. some of noise, mud... could be filtered I guess. However it would lose some information in these frequency ranges.
  13. Yes, me too. There is a fine live however when I would call it overproduced (the word here is loudnss race).... In case of certain metal, rock productions a "muddy" production may contribute to the athmosphere (mostly death, black or psychedelic rock). However when I compare eg. Mayhems early "productions" (and also 1 or 2 of the later ones which have also bad production maybe because they want to sound" trve" than I prefer still the better production of "DMDS" or "Wolfs Lair Abyss".....and in electronic this would be more so the case. As long it isnt too "loud" and clips.
  14. Butttttt.........if it is "TRUE" live than the mastering on the CD has no impact ? Or are you saying they play the CDs on their live sets? LOL
  15. Mh, good question. I was "back in the days" at severall parties and/or festivals. However mostly we wouldnt even care if someone played live there. Maybe if it was a super known or beloved artist...for me it was like this, friends would call tell they drive to this and that party/festival if I wanna join. Or I would call em and ask if somethings is on at the weekend. Never really cared about "live". Guess there must be a whole lot of artists we "saw" or better listened too. There is not much to see in these live acts, right ? If the music and people were cool, live artists did not matter much. I only remember 3 names now: Boris Blenn (E.Universe, P.Connection), Tarsis, Element. All from Germany I guess. Tarsis was Soundgarden Dortmund, quite good actually. Element was some strange festival in the middle of the woods - I liked the use of guitar to lay more what sounded like pads than playing riffs or even rockish stuff. I hate rockish guitar in electronic... For EBM/Indus or Metal concerts this was different, then it counted quite a lot what artists played. For EBM eg. now you wanted to avoid those that "sat" on stage with a laptop, right ? But chose these that make some aggro or SG or horror show....luckily in the 90ties and up to middle of 2000 there were still some of the better ebm/indus artists around. If I wanna write down all the metal/goth/ebm bands I saw the list would be too long Sadly I catched some bands after their prime time, eg. Sisters Of Mercy.... he apparently wasnt very enthusiastic to play at all, judging from his performance that day LOL Also his presence was ruined - NO long black hair and total black clothes anymore, but blonde short hair ? MH! The looks wouldnt matter if the show would be good, but this was only a further nail in the coffin of his live playing. His legend was short, but important... today, not so much anymore. The most known bands I saw were probably Depeche Mode, but to a time when they were not THAT superstars... funny thing their support band was booed away. Fans didnt like em. Was some female act, never heard of them before and after LOL. Very distracting were the girlies crying at Depeche. Also the band seemed distant to the audience, much different to less known artists when you can actually often talk to the guys before or after the concert. Or even better they arent even recognized as the artist that will play later or already played LOL I remember some semi known ebm artists wlaking around the audience or attending their collegues shows.... no one seemed to recognize them or care about em
  16. Seems drugs generally do not work for me.... in addition to above post, I remember once my friend had the clever idea to eat what was I guess "mushies". You eat this right ? I guess he had read that psy and/or techno artists would take these while making music. We were trying to make music, and he brought this idea forward. No effect on me at all. Also I can not even imagine to make electronic music when drunk (no alc here) or drugged tbh. Maybe punk yup. I mean totally drunk/drugged here, not only lightly of course Coffee also has no effect on me anymore, except it is very strong. But than it tastes like shit But normal strong coffee - its like water only tastes better.
  17. MFG - Project Genesis See: https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/71056-anyone-has-this-on-cd-mfg-project-genesis/
  18. YES ! Coffee and cigarette right now. But nothing more, these are bad enough, right ? (BTW: I switched to so called "natural" tobacco which claims to have no chemicals in it, not sure if this is true. But it tastes ok. I cant even smoke "normal" cigarettes anymore, even the cheapest tobacco is better imo.) I tried recently the Lucky Strike natural, but it is more expensive and tastes not as good as the cheaper ones LOL I only tried once what they called "E" back in the days, I shared one pill with a friend. It had only the effect I had terrible headache most of the night. So never tried again LOL This must be 10-12 yrs ago. Also some friends from these times, smoked weed. I never bought it, but if they let get a puff I would take one. But never needed it. Now I hate already the smell of weed, terrible
  19. For you short question: Is this Youtube upload quite bad quality and if yes, is the CD much better? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wjUkGxCTzU Thanks
  20. I know I am one of the "older" people who still bought "real" instruments and gear in the 2000s. Guess all together it might have been up to 4000,- of todays Euros... I even bought original sequencer software lol. It was Logic 4.xx Amazingly all that stuff still works fine, except one effect unit (SE50) which lost all memory (probably battery empty or damaged)... I am just listening right now over my "old" first cheap analogue mixing desk
  21. Btw. the overflow you mention can be called a big tsunami for at least the last 5-6 yrs or so.How much music is now out there in the nets ? Millions of tracks maybe? I also had an electronic group at Soundcloud (or better still have it but do not care anymore)... strangely enough it became quite popular even if I wanted to push some of my own shit through it. When I set it up I planned to this different and listen to tracks that are added or submitted and do only feature those that fit the groups description. Well I listened really to many of them at least for a minute or so to check if at least the genre is right and is not some rip off or mix or cover version etc. But gave this up quite quickly because it were too much tracks added and I must admit there wasnt much really stuff to discover (to my ears at least). Anyone who has a sample program downloaded somewhere now makes music and also uploads it somewhere, so you need to wade through a lot of "shit" to fit some gems. Way too time consuming. Then the times of records and CDs were a bit easier imo.
  22. Yup, thats my view too. However now it is quite different than say still 15-20 yrs ago, when there was so much good stuff coming out and you were excited when some guy(s) put out some noise. Thats not for psy alone but all the genres I listened too. Maybe ecxept Metal where is even much good newer stuff (why this genre is so much better than most electronic ones I dont know tho). As for reviews I wrote for some webzine for a while and also a printed zine 15 yr or so ago, mostly reviews sometimes interviews or concert reports. It was fun for a while and also I thought it was kind of a mission to recommend and promote good music (or what I thought to be good, which mostly is). but it really gets annoying if most of the promo you get sound generic and you are at a loss of words to describe i. So I quit that "hobby" But I would listen at least 3-4 times before forming an opinion and writing something... and often ignore the label info sheets as they often were just hype. Some were spot on though (which got that label a bonus in my view).....
  23. So AP, Cosmosis etc. is called "full on" ? I thought it was goa ... Also I started to like progressive since 5-6 years quite a lot, but there is still good and soso stuff in this genre too. like in every genre, isnĀ“t it ? And the CD2 is really "SOSO" (to be polite)
  24. UHM, thanks I got the PM now, I wasnt online in any forum for 2-3 weeks for "real life" reasons Just for info.
