  1. I was in Isratrance forum too - seems long ago - quite empty over there now. I heard forums losing traffic in general because of f-book etc. TikTok and Instagram (I am not on any of these places). I found a video from NHJO where he plays in a club in Seoul (sp?) not sure if his own music but sounded not too bad I will glady listen to the Psynews track if it will materialize btw.
  2. Here a newer Xeno track(mix) - his older stuff was better - but it has the same samples like the old VAC track "Phucking Freak" both overuse the film quotes "a bit" even the music itself is somewhat sameish ofc Xeno is faster https://xenomorph-official.bandcamp.com/track/sociopath-homicidal-pathology-mix Have read it is from "Seven" movie..
  3. That looks bad ass, were can I download it, ooops I just noted 160=min bpm 2fast4me
  4. Seems 80% of new topics are made by this guy, but would it not belong to the promo section..? Also why open a new thread just make ONE for your band and post your offers in this one?
  5. Agreed - this may also be one of the reasons modern production suck, not only in Electronic but also in Metal. 95-96% of listeners will not hear much difference anyway, when they use shitty headphones, bad car stereo and also not very hifi systems at home. So why would "engineers" still care much...only the musicians itself mostly want their music good produced, but seems confused themselves that overcompressing, clipping and mixes with too much high (mid-high end in modern Metal is way to prevelant compared to the more grave sounding stuff of older days, drums sounding programmed not played etc.) is not = good sound.
  6. Have listened to some of the examples in thread, I do not find very dark also most of it seems random noises thrown over kick/basslines (also too fast + "nervous"). Does not hold up well to other dark styles from the electronic music realm. Perhaps one of the reasons that people think "Psytrance is shit" or "Psytrance has no future"..when you tell em you like Psy but not the happy and trendy new stuff, then they google dark psy find this and think ohh well this is shit too Chiva Chandra ahem Cydonia not included I liked their stuff quite a bit..
  7. Sorry no idea I have read positive things about Reaper and 60 days "for free trial" + cheap...this sounds like a fair offer to me. And a question has anyone tried out the speedsound stuff ? He seems the most active poster in this section. But why does he post a new thread for every offer he has instead ONE ? Would it also not be promo? He does not give much tipps at all or wants to discuss it seems.
  8. Quite the same here, stopped a little bit later tho. I have/had at a high point ca. 600-700 CDs plus 100 vinyls or so. But from MANY genres, I also got some free promos when I was writing reviews for an online music magazine. My 3 main reasons not buying CDs anymore: a) My income has lowered b) I have not found so much newer music I would buy at all c) re-selling CDs is "quite" difficult esp. for unknown artists.
  9. How about REAPER, it can be tried out legally and free for 60 days. It worked on my somewhat older Win7/64bit sys. However I could not get into it really, I de-installed after 3 days. BUT you are not me and might like it Plus: cheap. A new license includes free upgrades through REAPER version 7.99. There is only one version of REAPER. The license price depends on how you use it. $60 : discounted license. $225 : commercial license. You may use the discounted license if: You are an individual, and REAPER is only for your personal use, or You are an individual or business using REAPER commercially, and yearly gross revenue does not exceed USD $20,000, or You are an educational or non-profit organization.
  10. I can make a noise or industrial-techno / metal mix...but goa nope Got bored by melodic psy anyway, a track of mine was accepted in a techno contest, so I guess this is more my direction even if I like almost no "newer" techno, strange.
  11. Here are a lot of experts... I have an OT question... "Techno contest" in another forum (one is from me): https://recording.de/threads/techno-contest-das-voting.234894/ Can you guys listen to track no. 11. "Tresor" it sounds totally familiar to me, NOT saying the artist has stolen something ... and yes it is bit psytrance-like not 100% techno imho. ..but I need to know if I am the only one who knows a quite simmilar track from the broader "psy" genre..THANKS.
  12. @recursion loop The 3 songs are ok.. they certainly do not hurt. Would not make it in my top popsongs tho. Same for the one @RTP posted. "Aigel" reminds a bit on Miss Kittin - which I find much better (at least the album I have)
  13. What does the bibel say about this I wonder ? If there was God he must KNOW for sure what the difference is ! Waaaiiiit.. it seems God does not approve of synthbased music at all
  14. Of course no difference, it is all techno ahem I meant "OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ" One can also sort it in the modern genre "copy&paste"
  15. No it would be more like (example) AION (UK) (4) vs. AION (RUS) (12)
  16. This reminds me, long ago, I was browsing the Metal category in a 2nd hand CD shop in Essen (I lived there for a while) I found a CD named "Cassandras Nightmare", it was 6 or 7 Euro, I remembered I had some MP3 from an artist with the same name which I quite liked, but that was (as most of you know) some kind of dark goa. Bought CD, researched and turned out that there was a Death Metal Band "Xenomorph" too. I like Deathmetal but the electronic one is better than the metal one in this case
  17. Hi, I believe Discogs does not list / allows entries as "release" which are only streaming based, or? They do allow download releases to be listed however. This is not so bad with country modifier I think. However there is a danger a new artist will be created at Discogs for Mohn? That would then lead again to confusion I mean your name is Mohn and Discogs gives Mohn (3) name (when 2 other Mohns already exist), but it may show up then as Mohn NL (2) if another Mohn in NL already exists And your releases now are on 2 different names... What about eg. Spotify ? I asked this above already and researched a bit and it seems they will just put your stuff together with an existing artist there if you have the same name. I am not on Spotify / Beatport etc. My last "release" on a d/l compilation was in 2013. From what I have read one must jump through some "hoops" to get this situation sorted out. Can it be prevented before you send music to Spotify/Apple music etc.? I believe only when your name differs at least a bit from an artist already existing there. Does anyone liked my idea above adding something to your name ? If not, what could be done ? Edit, or is just do not care the best idea ? I mean the nets are so overflown with music anyway..
  18. Wonder if Element belongs to the category, they had a hit - "The Crow". I have the "Transform" album and saw them live at some party in the woods. They used a guitar but not rockish sounding more like a pad layer. Opening track of album: Will listen later to some of the other tracks posted Edit, here a track from 2nd album, bit irritating vocal imho
  19. A Russian wanted to buy 2 CDs from me..this was the 1st time since 2 years or so I checked the cost to send outside of the EU....and it seems it basically costs 3x as much now. Luckily we found someone in Germany to send the CDs who visits the Russina guy I guess
  20. Short notice, I do not think that there is an evil intent (like "hijacking" or "stealing"). Just there are so many many more artists than even 10 years ago. One can pile up some samples or download a "beat" and rap over it - VOILA you are now an artist and you wanna share you super music with the world. But you need a name right? Some are too lazy I guess to research if the name they like is already existing.. This is easy, just type in artist name + music or band in the search engine. My artist name was also "hijacked" by an US based synthpop duo in 2017 or so. Either did not look up if the name already exists or they thought I am gone, dead or quit music because in fact since 2013 I did not "release" anything. But now in 2020 I restarted music and I am now sorted 2nd with the name at last.fm or Discogs. Even if I was the first with the name. Trouble is now when I release new music it will be lumped together on some sites like Spotify etc. I even got a remix credit on Discogs which the others did - not me. Any tipps ? The only solution I came up with is adding something to my name like "the 1st" or "the original"
  21. Of course the artists are in the info, I do not claim others music for my channels (like I noticed some trend people uploading mixes and covers etc. without naming the original creators on YT often times monetized). But I also said to not look the info up Btw. "hitech" also reminds me of drum n´bass and "gabber" which I also dislike, I have not a single song of these styles
  22. Just a short post, as no one wanted to guess artists in my mix here are they: Sun Control Species, Liquid Soul and Nasser in that order... Edit post TOO short, so some more musings. Even if I like darker music (also from metal) I have severe problems liking the new "darkpsy" stuff, seems too fast and random and nervous. Perhaps better for younger people But worse I found the "Psycore/Hi-Tech" subgenre (listened to examples from the 2 guides)..note however I like older "darkgoa" like Dark Soho some Xenomorph etc. Seems Vibrasphere is a band most like somehow.. FreQ I also liked (not sure if it aged so well) and Atmos (604 album is interesting - and yes I do not mind much the techno influences if done right!)
  23. I had a Spears Megamix - ok only as MP3... but her music did not age so well for me. Also Womanizer is from 2008. Here a 2011 title which sounds pretty decent - don´t know if she has more newer stuff, seems to have disappeared Also found right now, some German language stuff, seems decent too. 2015 I heard also a "hiphop (grime?)" song from her, which reminded me on M.I.A. (not a bad thing I guess) 2020: Learned that Paradise Lost last album was in top10 in Ger and Austria for quite a while, does not make it pop I guess. But here a song from the album "Obsidian". Bit too soft for me lol
  24. I found Lily Allen a while ago this song (+video - note the cool drummer) seems good enough, that I wonder if it is a cover version from some 70ties song?? From 2009 so outside your age range 2013: 2017, although a bit too "quiet" for my taste one must admit good song:
