Elysium - Dance For The Celestial Beings II

For me the sound of Elysium is the definition of Goa Trance and how it should sound, slow, hypnotic and psychedelic. And his reworked live version are amazing, they should be released on cd -
You better save those 20€ for a couple of months then, our first release will be Psychill

I always found Kristian quick to respond. Some months ago when I asked him about his new album he replied that it's coming, but I seriously doubt it right now -
And that shows that I have no idea about digital services

If you do make sure that you patent it Or at least let us know

4 months since I paid. 1 month since I received the email that the order had been shipped. Still nothing -
I started listening to Goa Trance at 1995, I was 14 yo at the time. Obviously I didn't have my own income, so I was using (or not using) my allowance, going to the arcades and just watching other ppl play so I could save some money. Enough for a cd per month. Fast forward many years, having a good job and enough money to buy as many cds I needed in order to quench my thirst. In theory of course, my wife knows a lot of ways to cause physical and mental pain. And I understand her, I always feel I want to buy more releases than I actually have time to hear. So I set a limit to myself...£60 per month (excl. shipping). So when payday comes debit card is out of the wallet. I also allow myself for a couple of releases during the month for preordering and buy on day of release. And that's it. What about you? What are your buying habits/constraints?

I cannot stress it enough but....LOL

It has to do with this release. The Orb wanted their first album to be a 3xCD. Obviously Big Life were not rdy to do that for a new artist So instead they published The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld separately, The extra cd Aubrey Mixes: The Ultraworld Excursions was sold separately and was available for just one day before the masters were deleted. Sure enough, very soon more copies started being pressed again with the only a slight difference. Instead of being mastered by Nimbus it was marked as Mayking. Even in the booklet of the 3XCD remastered version it says it was a scam just to draw attention. Funny thing, a lot of labels still sell them as Limited Print

I actually enjoyed going to sleep listening to Goa. My favourite comp to go to sleep was Zep Tepi

Couldn't agree more mate. May I give another everyday ordinary life example? I have an 11 months old daughter so you can understand that I don't have much (any) time to enjoy music on my own, especially loud. We also don't allow her to watch tv because she goes like . So an excellent opportunity for me to have constantly music on the background. Mainly psychill, some oldschool Goa but never ever NeoGoa and the likes. No matter how much down I turn the volume knob it still sounds "loud". Whereas in oldschool Goa if you turn the volume down you can even go to sleep It doesn;t matter whether you know about the technicalities or not of the mastering and such, your ears are the best audio expert.

Ok, Now I don't get it ppl. Having something digital only and someone crying over not being available on cd I understand. Being available on cd but not digitally WTF? Just rip it in WAV format. Best digital quality ever. And if you want give me the cd then for free since you don't want it No disrespect intended

@Anoebis I didn't say it shouldn't be limited, I just stated a fact (that it is indeed considered limited). In the end it's up to anyone's interpretation of what is or isn't limited. The only thing I know for sure is that not anyone can have it:) P.S. Does anyone remember Orb's "we deleted the artwork and masters" scam back in the day? Limited NOT

Innerspace's album was actually considered as a limited release (SUNCDLE01). But having a sticker on a wrapper that you would throw away (except if you are of those ppl that keep the wrapping on ) doesn't make sense either.

Starting a label that will print Limited Edition cds I am asking you what do you think makes a release to deserve the title Limited? Is it just the number of copies? Is it the packaging? A sticker on the cover or the rarity of the media? And what would be for you the ideal way to show that what you are holding in your hands is indeed limited? A catalog number including the letters LE, an engraved number or a sticker?

Digital Reprints News
thanosp81 replied to thanosp81's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
@antic Unfortunately not. At least not for the near future. You have to understand that printing only 100 cps, glass mastered in high quality digipacks raises the cost to prohibiting lvls. But by printing digital releases we can cut down the cost in various ways. We don't need mastering, it's already done. No third parties involved, most of the times the music is released on their own label. Even the graphics are sometimes already in place. Things that we wouldn't be able to do by hunting down rare releases. Having said that, I wouldn't say no if the opportunity was there. But for that DR recs should be founded as a proper label I think and not one based on kickstarter. On the other hand there are soooo many releases on digital only format- 233 replies
