  1. By now most of us would agree that the biggest revelation on Suntrip's latest V/A "Inti" was music from two brothers: Triquerta. I was surprised to find out that they have released - in Sep 2016 - an EP with 6 tracks & running over 52 minutes, so it's almost a full-length album! 1. Fungus Fever 09:29 2. One-way Ticket To Unity 07:21 3. Trancendance 08:36 4. UFO In My Back Yard 08:25 5. Deep Sea Trip 08:32 6. Sonar Levitation 09:56 - free to listen, apparently unmastered version (the volumes are all over the place) https://triquetra.bandcamp.com/- proper version, just 5EUR
  2. Great move! Too bad I have all your releases already...
  3. Good tutorial, although it epitomises everything that I don't like about modern psytrance - huge focus on the technical side, to at the end achieve the same K_BBK_BB pattern that everyone is using... I personally prefer my bass lines to be wandering about and not be perfect with each hit, I don't care if my kick or snare are in tune with bass, they just need to sound 'right' and fit together. But that's me - if you read my reviews I'm always hyping the releases with 'organic' sound and I'm not very fond of the mechanical, clinical and surgically precise stuff. I can tolerate it with Infected Mushroom, because there it's just a foundation for their great musical ideas; but more often than not it's where the creativity ends... Again, good tutorial for those that like that kind of music. Just not for me Anyway, subscribed to your channel! EDIT: sorry if it sounded negative, but it's nothing personal - I really like your music and the comment was about broader issue that I see: 90% of psytrance tutorials are on kick & bass, 9% on squeaky laser sounds, while what I'm really interested in is the remaining 1%: interesting leads, atmospherics, composition / arrangement, etc.
  4. Really nice! In particular I like all the 'accidental' effect and those gentle hi-hats at the end. I think the voice sample - as cliche as it is - could use some EQ-ing, cutting down low & mid-lows and maybe accentuating the mid / top a bit; I think it would cut better through the mix like that. Some effects on it wouldn't hurt as well - add filtered delay at accents, maybe some gentle gating. Looking forward to see how it progresses!
  5. I'm certain it will. As I said, the talent and skill are there, you just need some other influences
  6. No, IFO fits well just takes 2,5 places of a normal CD
  7. Thank YOU! Got my Bandcamp code this morning, looking forward to receiving the CDs as well to proudly display it next to the beautiful "The Mystery of Crystal Worlds"
  8. Also Ajna's "Search for The Divine" I think merges prog with goa (with very slight Nitzhonot influences) even better than Ovnimoon:
  9. Man, this is INCREDIBLE even (or because?) it sounds like Infected Mushroom, without Duvdev
  10. It's really good, but I'd somehow prefer to hear more "you". All I can think of while listening to this is that it's some missing IM track, which you should take as a compliment. But still, I'd prefer something a bit more individual, as the talent and skill are obviously there because - I can imagine - it's quite difficult to replicate their sound so accurately.
  11. The bells around 1:00 - 2:00 are great, so is the melody coming in at 2:40, but too bad it doesn't get expanded upon. The following part returns to the dissonant, false-sounding elements from the intro, then it gets interesting again around 4:00 and even better at 5:15, when it gains some tempo and energy. It gets slightly muddy around 5:40, due to some frequency clashing on the off-beats, so maybe some EQ-ing would help there? Wish the bells would return somewhere at the end around 7:30 I think the drums should be more pronounced, i.e. the kick is barely heard. Personally I also am not fond of the high-pitched K-BBK-BB type of bassline, but that's my taste. Overall, I really liked it with the exception of intro and the part in the middle (3:05 - 4:00), which - to me, at least - sound false. Subscribed to your SC
  12. Great, together with new Saafi Brothers so I can order both from Arabesque!
  13. Nice! I saw your music mentioned earlier today by Colin OOOD on Facebook, so happy to see you here
  14. From the label: BUY: https://liquidsounddesign.bandcamp.com/album/the-quality-of-being-one SAMPLES: http://www.arabesquedistribution.com/index.php?option=com_artistavenue&task=singleCd&id=3788&Itemid=1 Really excited for it! I loved their classic "Mystic Cigarettes" and if it's anything like that one, we're in for a treat...
  15. For me, "talented" means someone who's very versatile, who can effortlessly create all sorts of music, alone or with others, slow and fast, electronic and not, etc. It's someone who's able to break the rules, fuse different influences and create something new from it. Real musicians who simply chose to express themselves through psychedelic trance (or its derivatives). There's very few people who meet those criteria in our scene: Simon Posford, Erez Aizen (1/2 of IM), Bill Halsey (Cosmosis), Son Kite / Minilogue, oCeLoT, Nikolay Golutvin (Furious / Crazy Astronaut / Delirious Noon), Sergei Nazarenko (Enichkin), etc.
  16. If they're good, they're good. Considering where X-Dream went after Irritant, I'd probably not like their new music... Hmm, for my own liking I'd rather this album was not represented heavily in the re-mixes
  17. WTF?!?! X-Dream AND Flying Rhino are back to release double CD compilation of remixes of classic X-Dream tracks by Shpongle (Simon Posford), Atmos, Dick Trevor, Astral Projection (Official)., Eat Static, G.M.S, Loud, Man With No Name, MAD TRIBE, 4D ( DJ James Monro & Darshan), Joujouka ( Tsuyoshi Suzuki & Minoru AkaFunkygong), Manmademan, Blue Planet Corporation, SYBARITE, Midimiliz aka Extrawelt, Saafi Brothers, Deedrah. \ https://www.facebook.com/x.dream.music/posts/1553433191347090:0 To be released by the end of June '17
  18. Infected Mushroom takes the SOS Magazine through their "Flamingo" track off of the new album: WARNING: lot's of Duvdev
  19. The link worked just fine yesterday, so I don't know. Good track, but as of late they started to sound a bit samey, i.e. with similar structure, similar instruments. I'd even dare to say they sound generic, as in "new-school goa generic" (think Suntrip releases 2-3 years ago); whereas your older work was more distinct, individual and experimental. For me personally, "psychedelic" is a product of nuance and softness, rather than blunt force. Your recent tracks are very fast, hard-hitting and distilled to the core elements that definitely work, but there's not much more beneath that external layer. I also think you're mixing it way too loud / too aggressively, to the point it's barely comfortable to listen for prolonged period of time. Sorry if it sounds overly critical, but that's my personal perspective - hope it's OK
  20. I was recently accused of promoting certain release that turned to be subpar, so I choose to err on the safe side
  21. Gotta agree with your own comment - this sounds like 3-4 different tracks put together, without having much in common. The individual parts are good and interesting (in particular I loved the intro the most, until it switched the tempo up), but as a whole it doesn't really work for me.
