  1. Yeah, I know but I hate giving away those details... Oh well, I'll have to this time
  2. Yes, samples sound incredible! It's on pre-order, can't wait until I get the files this Friday! Also, I love how delicate and spacious the mastering is. Listened to V/A Terraformer samples back to back and got a headache from that one...
  3. Is there any way I could pledge without giving away my CC details? I was surprised there's no Paypal option
  4. Well, if this leads to psytrance artists earning more money by being invited to play more and by selling more CDs / downloads, then great! Sure, some (lots?) of them will dumb down their music even further in pursuit of the easy money, but I'm not buying those artists anyway so it doesn't affect me.
  5. You could actually be fooled both are written by the same person. As much as I love Prose Edda, it's a blatant rip-off of early Younger Brother & Shpongle music. At times it's even better musically and technically they're brilliant, but - as mentioned - it's mastered way too aggressively which makes it sound very loud even if played quietly.
  6. Neither, the former is too loud and painful at points, the latter seriously lacks (definition in) bass.
  7. Yes, I can see that and appreciate the effort. Just my personal preference Carry on with the great job you're doing and don't mind the critics
  8. @thanosp81, I will buy it this time, but really - I'd prefer a 1-2CD of hand-picked "the best of" stuff than a 5CD monster I will never listen through and it won't fit on my shelve... Please, think about it
  9. Not much info yet, but we know it's coming: http://www.arabesquedistribution.com/index.php?option=com_artistavenue&task=singleCd&id=3776&Itemid=1 And the cover from Jannis' Facebook: Can't wait!
  10. OP's question was about technical side, so there's no thing like "oveproduced and bland". In case of IM I also think all this flashy techniques are there not to make impression, but to really help tell the story better and in more tangible way - listen to Milosh from last album for example: the main motiff is incredibly emotional, but its impact is doubled (or tripled) by the way it's delivered. Technical prowess for IM is just a tool, whereas for a lot of other artists it's where their knowledge ends: they'll obsess about kick or bass sound (I read today a post from guy layering 7 kicks on top of eachother and still not getting it "right"...) writing pristinely sounding ...crap. We may not like IM's output especially because for years it's not goa/psytrance anymore, but objectively their music has a lot of soul, magic and individuality and immaculate production only helps fleshing that out.
  11. Care to provide a counter argument? Otherwise, it's just a fake news
  12. Technically speaking, nothing beats Infected Mushroom - their control over all aspects of the sound is unmatched; it's like they can somehow precisely shape every frequency, every noise, every effect. To me - and I know thing or two about the technical side - they're like Neo from the end of original Matrix, bending the sound to their will. What they do with this technical prowess is a different thing, though (although I really like their latest album).
  13. It's out: https://beatspace-impactstudio.bandcamp.com/album/sundial-aeon-vulcanosis-impact-studio-records https://arabdigitalimpactstudio.bandcamp.com/album/vulcanosis(only CD, no files / streaming ) https://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/isr/isr2cd006.html
  14. Out of curiosity, what is similar between 1 and 3 which you liked, that you couldn't find in other tracks? For me, the defining feature of #1 ("Dali Mountains") is further developed in "Skunk Funk", while the psychedelic madness of #3 ("There Is No Time") is expanded on in "Velos", "Discrete Circuit" and "Downward Dog". So my natural thinking would be that if you liked #1, you should like #6; if you liked #3 you should like #5, 7 and 8, etc. Sorry for being inquisitive. I don't mean to criticise your taste and choices, just genuinely curious (check here for more: https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/72612-what-are-you-looking-for-in-music/)
  15. Indeed, they seem to be on a roll recently - the V/A "Avant Garden" and albums from Mad Tribe and Outsiders in 2015, while not as good as this, are head and shoulders above almost anything that Nano Rec. put out in recent years. Also looking forward to Ajja's "Spira Mirabillis" to be released in two weeks! Hope those are sign of the revival of this (once) great label
  16. I had an e-mail conversation with Beatspace and they'll look into combining their separate label-pages into single store like Arabesque or Goa Distribution, so we could combine shipping without asking them each time to refund it!
  17. Really nice, there's nothing really "wrong" with it other than to my taste it's maybe too long and too static - e.g. the part at 5:00 - 5:30 which I think was supposed to be some kind of wind-down / a more melancholic moment; would work much better if the bass line was made less aggressive (with more holes / gaps in it) and the drums more sparse, maybe even some break beat. The final run that starts at 7:00 is also great musically and sonically, but it's kind of swamped by other samples / effects, so maybe it would be a better choice to make that lead sound louder and introduce it first, with other elements subdued, so that the listener knows where to place his focus and only then add in the other stuff? I mean it's all there and it is very good, but somehow the impact is lost, because the track operates at very flat energy levels. Paraphrasing the name of this tune, good music is indeed usually arranged like waves: slowly building, accumulating, crashing in and reverting; but on top of those smaller individual waves you need to have a meta-wave encompassing the whole song, that will make all of the smaller waves meaningful. Also there's nothing wrong with cutting the repetitive parts because a well arranged, varied and energetic track at 6-7 minutes is superior to one that drags along for 9+. ------------ Hope the above helps, but I shake at the thought of what happens once I post my music and it won't live up to what I'm 'preaching'. Because it won't, as it's easier said than done
  18. Thanks for the tip - never heard of them as well, but it sounds really good (similar to Peaking Goddess Collective or Flooting Grooves).
  19. That would at least make some sense... Anyway, like you said, I really dig their original tunes and I'm curious to hear the full album.
