  1. With this and Artha just released, I'm proud to be Polish Great work! Would kill for 2-3 more tracks & a full-fat physical release...
  2. It says it'll cost me GBP44 to buy the LE Box Set. Coincidence? I don't think so...
  3. A bit to fast for me and too static as well, but I liked the choice of sounds - even if some, as @RL above said, were too loud / stand out too much - the acid lines were good, the guitars (which I'm not a big fan of in trance) were fitting well. Also, somewhere along the track I feel like the bass got completely lost, replaced by some 'droning' sound, which could be intentional but felt weird nonetheless. However, considering you're doing this in Caustic and on a phone on top of that, is awesome! Most I got out of it was a 1 minute sketches, because it felt very fun but somewhat constrained... Really good work!
  4. What a great track! I loved the wailing sitar, the hairy/fuzzy acid line and some of the voice effects. Also, the groove / swing on the bassline works great here, complementing the tribal feel of the track. If anything, it's maybe a bit to linear (for my liking), but then it adds to the trancey and oriental vibe. Subscribed to your Soundcloud!
  5. After more time with it I like the mastering quite a bit - it's very pleasant on the ears, which I (as a 90% headphone listener) appreciate a lot. You made the right choice
  6. Come on, you can listen to full tracks on Bandcamp: https://cronomi.bandcamp.com/album/dream-telepathy But anyway, I think it's at least on par with 1st album - that one was more crazy, melodic / acidic, faster and more aggressive. The new one - as Ward mentioned few pages back - is more subtle, nuanced and less in-your-face. It's still Artha, with his signature swirly synth-lines, but they're not as prominent and exposed as they were on the debut. It's more focused, more grown up I'd say. I still need to give it (much) more time though, because I had a busy weekend and had maybe like 1-2 listens only. I have some doubts with mastering, though - it is very bass-heavy, with pretty weak trebles, but maybe it's just the Bandcamp files... It's so bass heavy in fact, that for the 1st time I heard my car speakers buckling under the load and audibly distorting. I also think that because of the bass, it's a bit more quiet than their previous releases: NewBorn or Psysutra, which were - IMO - perfectly mastered. If Artha's "Faith" on V/A "If I wasn't human..." was the perfect mastering for his music and "Influencing Dreams" was on the too-compressed side, then "Dream Telepathy" is on the opposite side. However, even if it's like that on the CD it's still preferable to the 1st album's heavy compression, which made it painful to take in one go. More bass isn't as straining on the ears as piercing trebles.
  7. Well, you gave us TWO great albums this year, so I forgive you
  8. You know, for me this is usually a sure sign that we're dealing with something special: unorthodox, not easy to classify. With music, in order to appeal to everyone, you need to sacrifice a lot so I'm often very cautious about releases that get unequivocal praise. I think I'm just weird and like weird music
  9. Interesting, a lot of tracks I've not heard! Thank you!!! ...and looking forward to that announcement soon
  10. Damn, with that wide a target you might as well end up in Poland
  11. Ok, so for those of you who already have the CD or bought and d/l the files from Bandcamp - what's your opinion of the mastering (not asking for music, because it is - as expected - awesome)?
  12. It's out on Bandcamp! https://cronomi.bandcamp.com/album/dream-telepathy
  13. What's "slowcraft"? If you mean downtempo electronica, then I recently fell in love with those two albums: I love my downtempo glitchy, experimental & jazzy
  14. I was meaning "I don't like it" in a non-negative way, but I can see how that can be confusing. My rating "system" is something like this (and think of it as stars, e.g. 2 stars out of 5; not as numbers): 1/5 - a release that's really bad, it should never get released, sold and purchased in 1st place 2/5 - a release that I actively don't like, i.e. there are certain annoying aspects - technical, musical, stylistic, etc. - that make me avoid it and cause discomfort while listening 3/5 - a release to which I'm indifferent: it's OK, typical, average, mediocre, inoffensive, etc., I don't look forward to playing it particularly, but at the same time when it's on it doesn't bother me, I can even enjoy it to certain degree 4/5 - a release that I actively like, it's maybe not mindblowingly awesome, but definitely stands on its own, is better than most in given sub-genre or is a good example of how top-of-the-crop for that subgenre sounds like 5/5 - a future classic, a release that pushes its subgenre to the max, redefines it or transcends many subgenres, it doesn't have to be perfect, but is a milestone and benchmark for future releases So, in that sense Ticon is 3/5 (in 10-ratings scale I'd rather see it as 5/10, i.e. a middle grade) because I neither actively like or dislike it: when listening to it I don't throw stuff out of the window because I hate it and I feel I wasted precious time, but neither do I drift away in awe or jump like crazy, because it gives me so much pleasure and energy. It's just there, it's fine, I don't mind it, it's average, it's 3/5
  15. I see some people got their hands on it already: https://www.discogs.com/Artha-Dream-Telepathy/release/9402679
  16. Ask Radi6404 - by now he should be a pro in dating skinny-legs ladies
  17. No, I completely agree that it's quite difficult to tell the Ultimae artists apart, but once in a while I like it. James' 1st Ultimae album stood out, this one not so much anymore. Also, personally I love glitch, so e.g. I really enjoyed Martin Nonstatic CD (which, again, was quite a departure from 'standard' Ultimae sound)

  19. One of my favourite (non-exclusive) Ultimae artists is back with new album: https://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/inr/inr1cd087.html https://ultimae.bandcamp.com/album/eyes-to-the-height-24bit
  20. Yes, I really dig Renoise and current version has practically everything I need (+ there's internal LUA scripting language where you can build your custom tools, if something is missing...). Indeed, I think it's more the matter of DAW than of the controller. I mean in Renoise - if I'd use VSTi - it would expose the VSTi parameters to track effect via Instrument Automation and then I can assign a MIDI controller to it, just like to any other slider / toggle / button in Renoise. I can even assign the same controller knob to up to 8 parameters simultaneously using Hydra Device, so for example with just one twist I could reduce cut-off, increase resonance and increase drive on the distortion at the same time - very easy and quick way to get those screaming, swirly, self-resonating acid sounds with high-pass filters
  21. No synth, just some random samples I found on disk, modulated via Renoise's native FX chains And yes, I was able to control (and record on the fly) 2 instruments and one send FX all at once, 6 or 7 knobs in total - don't remember, it was late in night The way Renoise is setup I think it would actually be more difficult to have it the other way around, i.e. to have MIDI assignments changing when I switch track / instruments, so it was a good choice to pick 16-knobs controller. Plus I'm using the pads to control transport, track muting, etc. It's a real game changer for me - music is fun again
