Personally, I read a lot of reviews for albums I own & listened (sometime, even for years) just out of curiosity - what other people think, what they like & dislike, what draws their attention and what emotions they get from it. It's not to validate my own opinion, but just to better understand my taste in relation to others, e.g. because we exchanged our thought on various albums I know that @recursionloop also likes good full-on, but his preference is skewed more towards the melodic and prog styles, so our tastes overlap with Dacru Rec., but he's more into Nano Rec., while I gravitate towards Wildthings Rec. / Bom Shanka Rec.

Come on, it was released yesterday... I usually need a week for music to sink in.

I guess Tim Schuldt is mastering most of (all?) Suntrip's releases. -

Didn't Squid said he was listening on Spotify? That begs for a question - who makes the call on how the mastering of certain release sounds? Is it the label, the author, or maybe the mastering engineer? I'm really asking whether this is a sign of further trend in making Suntrip's CDs sound less aggressive, or was it just an exception for this particular release? -
How on earth is this track "amazing"?! It does however sound like something from X-Dream / Organic Noise / The Delta / Planet B.E.N. (or 2nd half of Koxbox' "U-Turn") but I was never really a fan of that particular sub-section of their output, so can't help...

How the f**k did I missed this?!? "Original"? It's a blatant rip-off of Shpongle / YB / Celtic Cross down to the sounds and arrangements... It's awesome, but I definitely wouldn't call it original...

Yeah, I found this much less of an issue for this album. -

Wasn't really grabbed by the samples but above reviews and several weeks in top spot on Psyshop's TOP100 list convinced me to purchase it... Should've trusted my instincts, though I mean it's fine, prog-influenced full-on with jumpy & swing bass-lines, an OK melodies, some tribal chants, acid lines, lots of breaks & build-ups, etc. ...but there's so much nothing in there! There are stretches of emptiness, when literally nothing is going on, as if he accidentally muted some tracks on the mixer / sequencer... It's also pretty sparse and bare bones musically, i.e. the chord progressions are very predictable & overused and you can usually tell the change from miles away. Many of the samples we've heard on numerous world / chill CDs already and number of them is really annoying (i.e. countdown in Spanish or aeroplane sound engine as a build up - really?!?!), changes in tempo / measures get on the nerves and constant fading / filtering in / out of certain tracks quickly gets tiresome. If you're looking for something similar - a prog-influenced melodic full-on - but better, try U-Recken's "Flames of Equilibrium" that even if not perfect is miles ahead in style and execution. 3/5 on a good day. @Trance2MoveU - get on with the program & add polls to your reviews, please Some people can't be bothered to write anything, but at least they'd leave feedback that way.

That's actually an awesome idea! I had no problem with Colin's mastering, but track #2 had a glitch (a silence gap). Also, different cover would be appreciated - I never liked the unshaven trogglodyte

@Richpa, it's marketing 101 that you build hype with teasers, samples, artwork, etc. and then pull up the big guns - mixes, YT videos, interviews, reviews, etc. - just before or at the release. This is how Suntrip, DAT or ...Neogoa are doing it and it works. Sure, I'll buy the CD anyway on day 1, but there are people who'd read your review, get interested in it and leave disappointed for not being able to purchase/listen to it for a month ...and then forget to buy it, because there are other releases being promoted when it's out. But I guess if Cronomi is OK with this then all is cool. -

I know, but posting a review this much in advance of release doesn't produce any positive hype that leads to more interest and hopefully sales; and infuriates others, that have not even heard the samples yet... I'm envious, that's all -

Oh come on! Why would you do this a month in advance -
Yeah, you can't go wrong with a Toyota - I drove 2 Corollas, my wife now has a Yaris. However, I'd also recommend checking Volkswagen or Skoda - they're incredibly practical, reliable and a definition of a good car: not flashy or sexy thus won't win any beauty contests but are so well thought out, well made, well equipped, pleasant to drive, spacious. Right now I'm driving the new VW Passat 1.8 TSI DSG and it's a dream - very cultural & gentle in town, but outside the city it can show it's claw (180BHP/250Nm). I love it!

Well, that was my 1st impression as well, but few days in and it got a lot clearer and punchier. Considering the quality I could actually swear it was Colin OOOD who mastered it, but I know for a fact that he didn't - it's a home made job through and through...

Thanks Wow! Congratulations to you as well, then!
