Of course it's good. At least he doesn't reinvent the 90s goa wheel...

These classic albums were released in small runs in the 90s and now they are in the hands of collectors, which value them much more than a "standard" CD price. I can't find any logic why someone will part with them at such low price. The same goes for asking if someone can sell his original Roland TB303 at its original price 20 years ago. I obtained all those classics with a lot of patience and checking all available outlets every day for many years.

Chi-A.D - Earth Crossing (Amakusa Records)
Squid replied to U.F.Orb's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Got mine yesterday. I haven't listened to this album before, so it was an excellent treat. I was expecting a little more clarity from the mastering on some of the tracks but anyway I don't know how the source material was. Thanks Amakusa for releasing this...and waiting for other nice surprises. -
This album came as a nice surprise to me. This is the classic 90s sound that is pure gold. Thank you guys for releasing it. Favourte tracks: Fluid Dynamics and Make Make.

This is a nice modern psytrance album. We are not 1999, so please face the reality. Hux Flux didn't make it for money, you know very well how much money one can get from releasing an album nowadays, so this is just naive.

This is an album for those that have started their psychedelic journey 20 years ago. This is an album for those that developed their taste and vision over this long period and did not stay in the comfortable past This is an album for true psychedelic people. They can understand.

Pure coincidence I loved Scorb's Ipso Fvcto and Abra Macabre, so if it is near this quality, I would consider buying it.

I care a lot...Could prove to be an interesting album. Looking to your opinion, Antic!

cultural factors in psytrance's reception
Squid replied to Blair Thaumic's topic in General Psytrance
Don't forget the pioneers of Detroit techno and Chicago house - Derrick May, Carl Craig, Juan Atkins, Kenny Larkin, Kevin Saunderson. They pushed the style and have cult following even now as the inventors of house and techno. Goa trance is influenced heavily by techno, so these guys played very important role. -
Albums you dislike, but the reviews say otherwise
Squid replied to Neogoa's topic in General Psytrance
Vibrasphere's downtempo tracks While their uptempo stuff is immaculate, all their downtempo tracks are like slightly different versions of Manzanilla - same sounds, same structure and arrangement, same syrupy guitar melody... -

Solar Fields He has a lot of annoying tracks and really all his albums sound samey, no width, no scope...I really don't understand the high ratings, but as it's Ultimae...cant be any different. -
I wonder what happened with Maik Hinkelmann from S.U.N. Project. So he obviously left the band and create his own S.U.N. Project with another two guys. They even released an album named "Killer" last year. Any info on why this happened?

Some decent tracks like Mos Fet's "Supersonic Wind" and Astrological's "Magic". The last one is interesting too.

This is my favourite Space Tribe album. It took two albums for Olli to refine his psychedelic vision and this is the pinnacle of his late 90s efforts. Enjoyable madness from start to finish - highly recommended! 9/10

Classic early Scandi progressive trance. All the usual suspects are in, fully recommended!

I listened to the whole thing on my commute drive this morning and it was not boring at all. Hard-hitting and groovy progressive trance from its roots. 8/10
