12 Moons - Solid state ((Candyflip Records, 2004), really nice and melodic album.
-
Beat Bizarre have their unique style, technoish and repetitive. Pandora's groove box already was unique, and I liked it contrary to a lot of people here, and this 3rd album is even better, the rhythm and basslines are more powerful, and I really like 02-Content May Differ, 03-Stereorganic, and 08-2 Lame 2 Blame. Good album.

Wow I just got this : Beat bizarre - Somersault industries (Iboga records, 2005) That is excellent!

Wow I LOVE the second track, strange they sell something like that on psyshop Do you know that track? -> Motorcycle - As the rush comes (Perry O'Neil Instrumental mix) It seriously rocks! Nothing to see with Armin van Buuren remix (which I love too). You might know James Holden, Markus Schulz, check out their livesets

Orion - Futuristic Poetry (2005) [Avatar Records]
Manuser replied to amphiton's topic in General Psytrance
Never listened to the original album, but this remastered version sounds quite fresh, of course old school, but still fresh, the music is very chaotic, very varied, The source is stunning. Recommended to any old school nostalgic who like twisted psytrance, very chaotic without big melodies. -
I am sure it will be one of the best 2005 albums, it is varied, it is fresh, it is unique. One of the highlights for me is 07 Consciousness!

01 Flyh - Con Quest 02 Flyh - Fifth Floor 03 Flyh - Drummel 04 Flyh - Deskjet 05 Flyh - Monomentaria 06 Flyh - Rusk Roulette 07 Flyh - (Try To...) Koncentrate 08 Flyh - Sputnik 09 Flyh - Beware Of The Evil Mushroom After reading the reviews above I had high expectations for this album, and the first tracks disappointed me. Actually it sounds old for a 2005 album, and the production could be better. Track 6 "Rusk Roulette" is the first track which caught my attention, track 8 "Sputnik" is very good too, and of course last track is spectacular but I already know it will bore me after a few listens. Mediocre album for me, even a bit cheesy to my ears, not mature enough, but I know a lot of people might like it, especially the last track. PS : Mindblowing cover.

More full on than the previous albums, I found some tracks really good, but the problem for me is that you can't listen to the whole album from the 1st track till the last track, you get really really tired, as Ormion said tracks are too similar.
-
Well, a lot of people totally dislike this album. Dark Soho used to make dark and gothic psy, and this album is not dark as it was before. What's wrong? Seriously those days you can find plenty of psytrance albums worst than this. Of course, 5. Long way home is the highlight here, but some other tracks are pretty good, 3. Aliens cream, 6. Away, 7. Magic ...the bassline changed and became less dark, more full on. Except Long way home, there is no awesome track, but it is pretty decent psytrance, and I don't want to compare it with the 2 previous albums, their music evolved and I can't see the point of comparing this album to the old ones. 6/10 too. PS : I like the cover very much.

Great progressive I heard recently : Sensifeel - Vision of life, not new, 2004, Lish - Free fall , 2005 (both are a bit similar, sunny progressive). Tegma - 002 Avant.Garde is excellent (2005), it is progressive in some way, not minimal. I can't help about minimal, I didn"t really listened to minimal recently.

I think they are said to be cool, but actually they are stupid.

my vote went to 12 Moons Solid state, but i am curious about Abakus, first time I hear this name...

Classics that are as good as they're said to be
Manuser replied to Cinos's topic in General Psytrance
of course it's a matter of taste, but here the classics which are as good as it is said to be, according to me : Logic bomb - Headcleaner deserves its "classic" rank IMO, Chi-AD - Anno Domini ... do u see it as a classic? at least it is for me. Dimension 5 - Transdimensional definitely deserves to be marked in red, Cosmosis - Synergy! Huge album. Pleiadians - IFO (of course, Cinos wake up ) Planet BEN - Trippy Future Garden , important album, as well as Atmos - Headcleaner ... -
The first tracks of the album remind me Sensifeel - Vision of life album, it sounds fresh, sunny, mellow, and you can hear the phat kicklines. It is similar to a Plusquam release, except the more full on tracks as Le Lotus Bleu said above. Tracks 3, and 4 particularly caught my attention. Very solid release. Rating 7.5/10.

Analog pussy - Trance N Roll (AP records, 2004) 1. Trance N Roll 2. Future 3. Molecular 4. Psycho Puncko 5. Angels 6. 2B 7. Osterstrasse 3 8. Sound Of Soul 9. Amrisha 10. Snail Song Here a special and original album from Analog pussy. Trance N roll is a well chosen name, some tracks consist on putting melodies from old rock n roll songs, with lyrics, and with kind of chorus in some tracks. Some people will find this cheesy, as far as i am concerned it made me smile at first listen, and actually now I like it, I find it easy listening to without being too serious. Tracks are pretty simple, and highlights are for me 1. Trance N Roll, 4. Psycho Puncko, 8. Sound Of Soul, which are the more unpredictable tracks, especially 4 which will certainly make you laugh : a well known rock n roll melody, crazy lyrics, strange dubby breaks, hilarous ending. Track 8 might be my favourite, I love the lyrics, if anyone know where it is taken from?...some tracks are boring cause they are more conventional and unoriginal, 5 for example, but on the whole it's a cool album.

I dislike it, this might be the hardest psytrance album i have ever heard, and to my ears it is just noise...maybe 1 or 2 tracks are interesting, but seriously I couldn't stand this kind of music on party, it would be terrible to my ears...
