    Prana - Cyclone

Totally agree. I already gave my opinion on Space Dwarfs remixes by Space Tribe and Morphic Resonance. The original is great, the remixes follow exactly the original track. Pointless IMO.For me 2 conditions have to be met for a great remix: - the remix sounds totally different, it takes a few of the original ingredients but changes the track radically - the original is somehow a weak track but has potential: that's why Deedrah remix of Lepton head is awesome. A track that meets condition 2 for me is Loren X - Sectosphere. Ah if I was a producer it would be my top priority to remix this track just for the fantastic intro. When I hear this track I feel a big potential has been wasted. On topic: listened to Scarab a thousand times, still my favourite Prana track.
  2. One track not mentioned in this thread: Joking Sphinx - Bela.
  3. Dark Soho made some epic music no doubt! The old school artists I miss the most! You can also listen to the track The Fusion: My favourite track by them is The New Age, it has a fantastic dark melody and very haunting atmosphere, no guitar though. By the way, you can check out the whole compilations Guitars on Mushroom they are on Youtube, you will probably find some tracks you like.
  4. Don't forget this track by Miranda (Real Rush)
  5. Indeed. Strange, I remember listening to it last year and thinking it was pretty remarkable. I gave it another listen last night and found it a little boring. Taste can be a bitch
  6. Battle of the future Buddhas - Mr fantastic One of their most conventional goa tracks, I miss this style by them! Looks like they are not going back this road though.
  7. I can't remember the exact BPM but this album was pretty enjoyable https://www.discogs.com/Akshan-The-Tree-Of-Life/master/424707
  8. It changed a lot in the past, first fav was Mahadeva, then Liquid sun, then Trance Dance... Anyway when all is said and done I would probably pick No one ever dreams, I think this track is close to perfection. But it is really not easy task to choose only one.
  9. Never heard of the guy. But I would pay money to listen to a good remix of the part between 2:30-4:00 (if you forget about the ugly key change in the middle). This melody is what I would love to hear in today's goa trance, it is very recognizable and memorable. Looks like this kind of amateur tracks are sometimes a good inspiration for remixers.Powerful cover
  10. It is amazing that such a great album was released for free, what to say? A big thank you! This is the definition of musical goa trance with strong influences from other genres. A real success and proof that innovation is still possible in the genre. There is no other album that sounds like Kolovrat. Great music and also very beautiful artwork.
  11. Well I agree with Celaripo and also with the spot on definition of recursion loop above. Sorry astralprojection but I think you are the wrong side here. And I don't see why it would be insulting to call this EP classic uplifting trance influenced? One of my favourite tracks are certainly hybrids, like Blue Planet Corporation - Hemo Static II. About this release, it is not bad IMO. I don't understand how this music started a fight but anyway everyone can make their opinion, the full EP is available on YT:
  12. ..and don't forget the awesome classic : Deedrah - Reload
  13. Mystica - China Shiva Shidapu - India spirit Talamasca - Jungle storm Astrancer - Blazar Sheyba - Trance Africa express
  14. Maybe you can try the different albums of Somnesia, especially the last one. I just fear you may find his style not powerful enough, but it is extremely melodic, it sounds very old school (maybe too much actually). But you can still check and see if you like.
  15. As far as I am concerned, can't say I am disappointed. First 2 tracks got me a bit scared, they are very repetitive. First thing that stroke me, the music is trance inducing, and very technoish. This is very underground and less goa than Technologic. But for me it works, at the beginning I feared a very repetitive album, but there is enough variety (not a lot, but still enough) to make the journey interesting. Also, the mastering is very good, I think Schuldt made a great job and I guess this kind of psychedelic trance suits him, in the end the sound quality is IMO clearly better than Technologic. I like Exostatic the most, very cold and manly track. I can understand this music will not please everyone. I reckon if you are into the most technoish tracks of Ka-sol you should find this CD appealing. Useless to say, this is the opposite of the usual Suntrip sound and I am not surprised the initial plan was for DAT Records to release it. Not mainly focused on goa-trance...but pure party sound this is. 7.5/10.
  16. Not your typical full on but you have to listen to Tranan - Restarter Good variety in this album, soft morning full on / progressive pretty generous on the melodic side. Very pleasant album!
  17. Especially "Welcome to the future", which is my favourite track of the album. But it was said to be produced in 1991?? that's incredible! surely the most advanced psytrance at that time.
  18. ei! Looks like I forgot to mention this big classic but probably most people know it already! LSG - Netherworld https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47yBQSYNeCk This is my favourite version of this timeless classic.
  19. True, Technologic is really brickwalled indeed, I can't listen to Up Days, too loud,. The mastering of this album is a disaster, makes me wonder if it was actually mastered in the first place? Because Earth crossing does not sound worst than Infinitism. Anyway, the prize for worst mastering ever goes to Alpha Circuit - Module Z.
  20. Still stand by the same opinion 2 years later, awesome CD. Jaunt is my favourite I think, the Syb Unity Nettwerk is really awesome (despite the kickline as stated above). And most importantly, LOTS OF VARIETY in this CD, each track is something different (that is also why I love the Mind rewind series ), big thumbs up!
  21. Rock solid album. Entertaining and perfect for the dancefloor!
  22. The disappointement of some reviewers on previous page is understandable. This is extremely forgettable. The production is very good as expected... as for the music itself, nothing stands out. Reviews would be less harsh if it was not Shakta but the disappointment was legit. It is not bad if you like minimal progressive psytrance without melodies, but even then it is far from being among the best in the genre, it sounds too dull and bland. Most interesting for me is #7 "Answers", it has some kind of energy missing in most of the other tracks. Overall rating: 5/10. By the way I think Shakta, goa trance or not, has always been slightly overrated but that's another topic
