  1. Probably Blue planet corporation - Roma (even though one can argue is it really downtempo goa or downtempo trance?), track Arcana is nice as well. Asura - Like a summer day is also beautiful downtempo trance even though the vocal sample is a strange choice in such a track.
  2. one of these rare unique tracks you still remember 10 years later.
  3. One track I absolutely love is The digital blonde - Hydro. It is slow to start but wow such a beautiful track (12 minutes).
  4. On page 4 we had reger at his very best, peak reger
  5. Just bumped into this thread as I was searching for something else, and thought I would reply. I think I only got one girlfriend in the past who liked trance but more the Tiesto genre. Can't remember any of them liking or even knowing the psytrance genre. My wife (since 2013) hears the music when I play it without headphones, she does not care. One album I remember she liked when I was driving was 12 moons - Solid state, but that is it. She is more into pop music, Amy Winehouse, rock (Aerosmith), raggae and classical music. To be honest I don't care she is not into psytrance as I never go to parties anyway, and she tolerates it if I want to put psytrance while driving. In short, it is not something important at all in our couple. (By the way was looking for a Koxbox album review, typed the key words "acid drome " )
  6. A few not mentioned by astralprojection and johnb820 Jaia - Brainstorm Phreaky - Over the moon Transwave - Phototropic Chi-AD - Anno domini Power source - Goaway SFx - Y-Salem Yahel - Last man in the universe Zirrex - Zirrex (crazy this one, underrated) Amygdala - Wintermute (underrated as well, and he is a Psynews member!) Battle of the future Buddhas - Domestic bliss (the first part of the track, unfortunately this track is too noisy, the mastering is absent) Blue planet corporation - Atoll Cosmosis - Key to the innerverse (a bit cheesy and old but still nice) Bypass unit - Phaser galaxy Ubar tmar - Cosmo drome (I mean the 2012 version, last track of CD1 of the triple CD album Ubarpedia, really beautiful morning goa). Elysium vs Worm - Yemaya
  7. I remember that Andain track remixed by Photo Project, nice one. My fav back in the days was Motorcycle As the rush comes remixed by AvBuuren (probably listened to it to many times as I ended up getting bored by it).
  8. Sounds nice and definitely pure old school. Somehow reminds me a bit this kind of track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9alvq9Wjxfk This fantastic track could give good inspiration for sure!!
  9. This is what you get on youtube when you type progressive trance https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=progressive+trance And this is what you get when you type uplifting trance https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=uplifting+trance What both you and me like more, is Uplifting trance or classic trance. Saying Push - Universal nation is progressive trance is like saying Astral projection - Kabalah is progressive goa.
  10. Absolutely Rotwang. In the end great music is great music. Back on topic, some nice tracks of progressive trance here http://tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=710710&forumid=1&s=#.VppUTfkrLIU
  11. Good idea to create a brand new thread about this, the other one was going off topic. So here is a list of "progressive trance" posted at another forum (tranceaddict) http://tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=705581&perpage=12&forumid=1&pagenumber=1#.VppNC_krLIU This is my definition of progressive trance, slower tempo, with more focus on basslines compared to early Ferry Corsten tracks, Paul Van Dyk etc. and it sounds close to progressive house but with melodies and often vocals. I don't like progressive trance too much, I prefer classic trance of the 90's (progressive trance is more a style of 2000's).
  12. Yes the remix I posted is progressive trance, and the original is not but you are right let's not argue about this here on this topic. I will reply to you on your other thread, as I found a list of Progressive trance tracks, and they all sound like my description (with similarities to progressive psy). Anyway, great music is great we can agree on that!
  13. That track... And that cover
  14. If you like Jaia - Sillenium, then I think you should like MFG - When we dream (if you don't know that track already). Other recommendations I can think of with nice climaxes: Total eclipse - The furnace Cosmosis - Higher access (not as good as Howling at the moon but close) For extreme sound: Ka-sol - Skreno (check out by yourself, don't think it is that great but interesting for sure) Oh and a great one: Psychopod - Dreampod, I think this one grows on you (first time I did not really like it but it is quite complex) For a dark track with a nice climax at the end: Tandu - Alien pump Phreaky - Tornado: is a kind of experimental goa track that sounds fun and crazy for sure In different styles: Chi-AD - Eye am the I. It is pretty soft but melody wise a goa masterpiece. An agressive, powerful track that maybe you will like: Tim Schuldt - Animatronic I could go on forever
  15. While it gets a little boring to listen to the full album in one go, mainly because all tracks sound similar to each other, when listening from Track 1 to Track 4 it is good and more melodic than other prog around. Track 1 is my favourite of the album, very good for home-listening but also for dancing. I never heard any other tracks from FREq apart from the ones in this album, but here it sounds like the artist found a good recipe and unfortunately apply it to every track without much variation, reminds me Reefer Decree in that regard. Still pretty nice overall. 6.5/10.
  16. So many epic tracks. Ferry Corsten - Sweet sorrow Thrillseekers remix...what a ride it is
  17. Flamicogyre and Howling at the moon have nice climaxes indeed. You should like Jaia & Dado - Sillenium Jaia - Brainstorm Green nuns of the revolution - Rings of fire Chi-AD - Liquid neon sky Jikooha - Bay hall magic MFG - New kind of world Technossomy - VTOL
  18. @Pad, yes indeed it just trance music, it is fast I guess that is whay they say it is "hard trance" but to me it is just trance in the old classic way.@AP thanks I had a nice evening At the top of the page, I was replying about your last post on page 1 (forgot to quote), you wrote that Lost tribe - Gamemaster is a perfect example of progressive trance, I disagree. I would be curious, why do you think it is progressive trance?I just noticed there is a progressive remix of this trackhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wl4ETC0ZR0Notice the similarities with progressive psytrance, in both case (prog psy and prog trance) there is a progressive house feel (and sometimes electro). I guess that is why they call it progressive.
  19. As far as I remember (listened to a lot of trance (euro trance)) from 2000 to 2005) it was not called progressive trance, but trance (or euro trance, uplifting trance). Progressive trance (much like progressive psytrance) is usually slower and sound more housey. This style became very popular after 2004 I think with artists like Gabriel and Dresden. An example of what is for me progressive trance.... Hardtrance is older and usually with hard kicks, this track posted on page 1 is a good example Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Push, etc... are trance artists. I think Ferry Corsten later on made some tracks that sounded a bit more progressive though. I think Wikipedia sums it up well:
  20. Do you have any idea if it was a recent track or an old one? You should check Infected mushroom old tracks "the shen", "dracul" and others. Yes, underrated track.
  21. I was about to say Sandman as well. And maybe Dark Soho (if we forget the 3rd album). Oh well perhaps it sounds a bit similar to Tim Schuldt but not too much IMO, still a very recognizable and personal style.
  22. Anne Clark - Our darkness remixed by Total eclipse is one solid track, old now but always liked it A very recent track I like a lot is New Born - Omen (just under 7 minutes) very gentle and clean sound You can listen to it here https://cronomi.bandcamp.com/album/nothing-but-a-title
  23. I don't why you call this Progressive trance, or hard trance. well hard trance is usually trance with harder kick and faster tempo (Sunbeam Outside world - posted above probably fits the description). For me it is just trance.... Back on topic, Talla 2XLC Is anybody out there - Taucher remix has to be my favourite trance track ever. I don't think I will ever get bored listening to this track. It has a unique structure, a 4 minutes build up, it is magical. From the 4th to the 8th minute mark this is pure delight, it still gives me goosebumps today. The build up followed by the climax is the most beautiful and emotional moment I can think of in any electronic music track of any genre, and a proof that you can produce a very simple track with a few layers and still achieve such epicness. Can't think of any similar track and no need to! It is unique and absolute perfection, very definition of emotional trance music
