1. KoolKane 15:35 2. Blue Venus 08:09 3. Horizon MS6 07:09 4. Rumours From Outer Space 08:10 5. Soft Hypnotic Late bass (free) 09:06 6. 90's Voices Whispers 06:35 7. Cannibal (free) 03:44 8. Blackout 10:09 9. Fresh 06:18 This self-released compilation consists in (according to the Bandcamp page) "mostly music recorded on 4 track tape recorder (Yamaha MT100II) in 1990/1991/1992/1993 transfered in digital format". BPC started composing electronic music at the end of the eighties when techno and acid house became popular, "Overbloody" flood being the first track released in 1993. So here, obviously we got nothing yet of the quality of tracks like "Alidade", "Crystal" or "Cyclothymic". It is a mixed bag of classic trance of the early nineties, acidish techno, and some downtempo trancy music. Nothing properly goa or psychedelic trance. This is not easy to review this as some tracks really sound old and even amateurish. Tracks 5, 6, 7 and 8 consist in old rave music elements, fast techno and 303 lines. "90's Voices Whispers" sounds cheap and terribly amateur. Lovers of old acid techno should find track 8 "blackout" quite interesting when put into its context. I reckon this album is worth for "KoolKane". It is a very clean 15 minutes trance track, with a nice bassline and a nostalgic feel. Reminds me the old german sound of artists such as Cosmic baby or Taucher. "Blue venus" revolves around an hypnotic and repetitive melody supported by some light drums. Nice. Track 3 is also quite repetitive but pretty convincing downtempo, switching emotions from happiness to sadness. Melancholic and interesting for sure. Track 4 is slow trance but I find the melodies quite dull to be honest. So yes IMO definitely a mixed bag with works the artist wanted to release for his most loyal fans even though they were really subpar, and 3 tracks I really enjoy ("KoolKane, "Blue venus", "Horizon MS6"). Dream Reactor - melodic/cheesy full-on
Manuser replied to recursion loop's topic in Free Music Promotion
I like it. You have skills and good ideas. I usually don't like full on (just yesterday I bumped into 7even Sisters7 (Pleiadians) on Youtube, their full on album, decided to give it a try and it was quite a bad experience Will you release an album in the future? I liked the track you submitted for the contest. -

Very nice -
Congratulations to the winners. @recursion loop looking forward to hear more from you, nice track ( I really thought it would make it to the 10, it was close I guess).

Psychedelic quest - Alternate constellations http://www.discogs.com/Psychedelic-Quest-Alternate-Constellations/master/518790 has no voice sample. Very nice album (kind of similar in style to Amithaba Buddha, and some Bypass unit or Colorbox tracks). Problem for you, it was a digital release only and downloadable for free back then, but by now all links are dead. I have the tracks so you can contact me in private if you want me to send them to you. Full album is also on Youtube

Label: Blue Hour Sounds Distributed By Beatspace Distributed By Arabesque Distribution Artwork Gaiana, Jazzmine Compiled By Gaiana, Peyo Mastered By David Zells 1. Aromatic Roots ARCHAIC 2. Awaken the Dream DOHM & RA ROOT 3. Obsidian EVOCATONE 4. Nefopo ELECTRYPNOSE & MALICE IN WONDERLAND 5. Cryptic Dominion VIA AXIS 6. Stream of Conciousness LUNECELL 7. Aurora PEYO 8. Mercurial GAIANA 9. Us Until the End MARK DAY Here we have a nice compilation of dark psytrance (forest) compiled by Peyo (Italy) and Gaiana (Netherlands), released a few months ago. Refreshing sound, and while the tempo is pretty fast in pretty much every track, it is not too aggressive and sometimes has a relaxing feel. The opening track is perhaps the most powerful of all, while tracks 2 and 3 try to set a gentler mood and make the listener ready for for a great night psytrance experience. Focus is put on building atmospheres, dark and mysterious, these tracks set the mood rightly for what is next to come. Track 4 by Electrypnose and Malice in Wonderland has more groove for sure, and I believe more energy. The bassline is a bit more technoish too. It is the longest track of the disc (11 minutes) and one of my favourites, very well built and never sounds too long. But track 5 by Via Axis sets the bar even higher (for me anyway), really catchy (fast) track with an awesome bassline, impressive. Sounds quite empty but it is a compliment here (not always the case). Track 6 is very atmospheric with some dense forest layers and crunchy sounds, while track 7 starts with a terrific sinister bassline and gets more and more twisted towards the end, one of the most psychedelic track here I reckon, this track is a beauty. Haunting forest music at its best. The intro of track 8 is brilliant, it feels like some morning moments are soon to come, but when that phat driving bassline hits the ground we are back to pure dark forest psytrance, with lots of bubbling sounds. Check out the middle of the track, it's amazing. Second half could have been less monotonous, still awsesome work overall. The ending track by Mark Day has a similar intro to the previous one, clearly we are trying here to finish with a morning touch, hence this melodic break after the 3rd minute mark followed by some experimental work with real instruments, amazing emotional bridge here and the melodies carry on until the end. By far the most melodic track (the only real melodic one here) and for sure the most audacious and emotional of the compilation. Impressive. One of the most unique and story-telling track I have heard this year, and a perfect way to end the journey. If you are looking for a conceptual forest CD, you got one here. The promo text at Beatspace said: "searching for music that can forge a bridge from dark foresty nights into mystical misty mornings" and I felt this is what we got. Mission accomplished. One of the good surprises of the year. 8/10 for me. 18 years later and Electra is still unmatched power-wise
Manuser replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
Yes, but then we are not talking about goa trance anymore, Talamasca - Sinai is very powerful but more psytrance, and then we have plenty of very powerful tracks in the full on category. Good example is the ending of Transwave - Rising high (without many layers), not my cup of tea though. Talamasca - Super hero is very powerful as well but here we are even further from goa trance... -

For this one, I disagree. Very good track but power-wise IMO doesn't match Electra, doesn't match Howling at the moon (posted above) or Toi doi - Nuage d'encens. An underrated powerful goa track is Jikooha - Bay hall magic. But Electra, I think is more powerful than these tracks (but my least favourite of them). -
Hello. I was just wondering if by any chance there was a way to get the track with all these vocal samples removed from it. I would happily pay a $ or two to get a file of such a version, if it exists? Everytime I play the track, it feels like I forgot to close a youtube video playing in the background, but unfortunately this is not the case. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

oh Masaray.... I like Masa but I didn't enjoy this album at all!
-
Well same here, as far as I am concerned. Discovered 01-N a few months ago, earlier this year when a 4 tracks EP was released. Anyway I am surprised not many talk about this album. Mastering may not be the very best (a bit loud at times) but music wise I like this a lot, I think track #3 "Tri-sight" might be one of the strongest tracks released in 2015. Orgasmic stuff. Indeed "Incubus" is one hell of a track, same goes for "Proliferation" (strong acid drive in this one). Impressive release overall, definitely deserves more attention on this forum.

1- Orange 9:44 2- Polen Peltsche 9:11 3- Frau Schäle 8:32 4- Candy From The Strange Side 10:24 5- Ascii Porn 7:55 6- Maracas 8:38 7- Blue Void 8:29 8- WM Bälle 9:49 Prisoners of the sun - Are you scientific enough? This album is now over 14 years old but aged pretty well. It obviously lacks the energy of nowadays productions, but it is a pleasant album, quite dark when we talk about progressive psychedelic trance. So yes, german progressive from the early 2000's, therefore much closer to XV Kilist, Atmos, than the last Ticon works (to give you an idea of course, it is still different to Atmos or XV Kilist). Strenghts: - quite varied album, it is darkish on the whole but some tracks are more on the morning side - very nice basslines, not full-on like which is a good point for me - not a mainstream sound, which means for me more solid, less likely to bore after a few listens - pretty psychedelic - those who like nice work on percussions should be pleased weaknesses: - can be a letdown for those who like a more commercial sounding progressive - sometimes lacks a bit of energy - for melodies lovers, not many here Favourite tracks: #2 Polen Peltsche (morning), #4 Candy From The Strange Side (hypnotic), and #5 Ascii Porn (nice darkish atmosphere). My rating: 7.25 /10. Full album on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KibPKLquU4U Cheap at Discogs. At this price it is worth purchasing.

Tracks and albums that are like watching a movie
Manuser replied to pdinklag's topic in General Psytrance
This album is really excellent. I strongly recommend everyone to listen to it at least once: -
I share the same thoughts about this album, it is really not bad at all. Since Mdk mentioned Blue planet corporation, I still prefer the old Blue planet sound over this (it had more soul and more charm IMO), but Illusions of reality is good enough. Pure morning goa trance, very easy on the ears. It was Mr Gabor's first album, I am sure the second one will be better, and more risk-taking perhaps? Favourite tracks: Blessed unconsciousness, Plan B, The journey.

Similar bands like Radical Distortion?
Manuser replied to Goa Travellers's topic in General Psytrance
Merr0w - Born underwater? Long time I did'nt give it a listen but my memories say so. -
Certainly agree about Doppelkicker, Pulse, Master Blaster, Schleiffer, Space.Com all being very solid tracks. Just don't expect any melody here but have a listen with headphones, the experience is really pleasant. Nothing to do with Trippy future garden but mastering and production are 10 times better. It sounds so professional, mature and somehow dark (cold). Like others said it is minimal, psychedelic techno, with nice breakdowns (Master Blaster, Space.com...) and great percussions. One of the most solid minimal psytechno I have heard (people who dig Noma - Navigator should dig Silver as well). Schleiffer, lovely bassline

Votes: 1: Recursion Loop - The Riddle Of Three Turtles 2: Fiery Dawn - Kundalini 3: Dragon Twins - Foster 4: Nebula Meltdown - Didgeridreams 5: GoAtma - AtmaSphere 6: Profetia - Rage Against the Crashing 7: Cybernetika - Prismatic Reflection 8: Phobium - Orbital Resonance 9: Cardiac Arrest - There is no try, just do! 10: BlackStarrFinale - Siege Of Phobos

Good picks especially Ra, Midian, and Indigo from Prana (I forgot about that melody, classic).
-
Still an easier challenge than the Novoice topic I reckon Another one, Chi-AD - Anno domini.
-
Good ones, I never heard about the track you posted Alek, sounds like IM a bit. However both melodies stand on 32 beats, I was more looking for melodies of at least 64 beats (or 48 if that exists). 32 beats melodies are not too rare (Trip tonite, Bust a move, Astral warrior...). Thanks anyway, and nice track Alek

Trying to list a few: The first (obvious) one is Elysium - Trancelestial psychobabas, very memorable melody Same goes for Sheyba - Trance Africa express Battle of the future Buddhas - Domestic bliss: melody at 4:30 I love this oriental melody (underrated track) Please list more. PS: Talamasca - Back to Bach has the longest melody but 1/ it is not really psytrance, 2/ it is not an original melody but a remake of a piece of classical music.
