Since we mention less known tracks of Infected mushroom... Roll us a giant Obscure gem from Infected mushroom They sure have talent, I always thought sometimes their tracks lacked clear direction, best example is Dancing with Kadafi, you sure hear the talent but the track goes everywhere and constantly change direction, it is a bit weird and hard to follow. Another example is Ballerium, it has a dark mood and atmosphere and then suddenly comes the last part of the track that sounds nothing like the rest. A bit strange.

If one album deserves to be remastered it is The juggeling alchemists, I always thought Mystical appearance in Goa was good but sounded weak at the same time. IFO is fine I think, wouldn't mind Maia remastered though. Caution though if Electra is remastered because the original sounds quite harsh to my ears. But you didn't talk about remastering so I guess both albums will stay as the originals? In any case that is a good news. Good luck.

Slug track...not bad at all even if not a big fan of this kind of bassline, it still has a nice groove. 6/10 Cypher O - Psychedelia junglistia

thanks Mr Mustafa for a track I would have never listened to if not posted here. It's beautiful and relaxing. 8/10 Now in a totally different genre what do you guys think of this Xenomorph track? (Gehinom... I like it!)

Most underground psytrance you ever listened to?
Manuser replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
sorry for not being clear, underground I meant the opposite of mainstream/commercial http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Underground -
So yesterday I was listening to Ka-Sol - Ex-Hume vol 2 (nearly three years since the last time I did) and I can't think of any other release in the psytrance scene more underground than this - or perhaps I missed some stuff Track 3 Chemical is epic Track 5 Domino is a killer What's the most underground psytrance you got?

Still tiring to listen to the whole disc but track 5 still epic

favourite tracks since 2011 - not talking about albums
Manuser replied to Celaripo's topic in General Psytrance
Both tracks are wonderful and I think "Rain no water" might be my favourite downtempo trance track ever. It was literally "love at first listen" the day I bumped into it. -
It's funny that I discover now this track from Pleadians, it was released in 1995. It's great. I don't really love fast goa trance but this one is one of the exceptions (153 bpm) Pleiadians - Pleiadians Is it the first tracks they ever produced? Brilliant sound.

I share your thoughts Bill about these 3 tracks (well 2 and half ), Butterfly is really worth a listen. I'll keep an eye on this project.

What has been the best year in goa/psy history?
Manuser replied to JISNEGRO's topic in General Psytrance
In the nineties it has to be 1997 indeed Post 2000 i'd pick 2012 with highlights being Ubar tmar-Ubarpedia and Mindsphere-Patience for heaven -
I actually bought it on Discogs for 17 euros including shipping, a bit expensive but I like it. Discogs prices piss me off more and more though, really push you to download and not buy for lots of CDs.

Out of the loop, need to get back into it (Part 2)
Manuser replied to Mergi's topic in General Psytrance
Hi Mergi, good luck with your search not easy to find unforgettable stuff nowadays! For me best release since 2010 was Ubar Tmar - Ubarpedia. It is a triple CD but not available on Psyshop. Then I can suggest you something technoish, hopefully you'll like it: Cybered Acid box http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/hah/hah1cd009.html -
Some weaknesses here and there but on the whole I like this album a lot. It's very diverse which is a strenght for such an album, track 4 has nothing to do with track 7... this track (7) is one of the highlights here with its dreamy atmosphere. Some parts of this album are a bit too much "world music" for my taste (example track 4), still it is a strong album IMO stronger than 'Nothing lasts..." Highlights: "Electroplasm" (awesome guitar riffs), "Nothing is something worth doing", "No turn un-stoned". By the way the outro of the last track (outro of the album) is spot on.

I miss the time on Psynews when you could browse the reviews and read 4 pages of AWESOME STUFF 111/10 or Biggest crap 1/10 without having to justify yourself forever and without label and artists themselves getting involved in it trying to justify they did a good job. I know it sounds silly these kind of reviews but it sounded so genuine and fresh at the same time that it got me interested to check lots of Cds and even the "worst album ever this is not GOAAA" stuff maybe i am feeling nostalgia right now. Anyway about this remixes release, I reckon it is decent but not great. I share the same disappointment about the choice of only 3 tracks, and Mugen was already released in the AP album. The tracks themselves sound Ok, I am happy Filteria didn't go over the top as he used to...his remix is pretty nice. Boundless is remixed too many times even though I do appreciate the Jagoa remix and also the last one which is more dancefloor oriented it seems, nice basslines in that one. A 6/10 for me.

Unfortunately I fail to hear any magic in this Vimana Dub version, I really wish I could feel the same way you do Bill but I don't, it sounds unfinished, empty... sometimes emptiness can be a strenght, sometimes a weakness and here I am afraid it is a weakness. The tracks I still enjoy so far are Trip tonite, Back to Vega, and Screaming butterfly. It's still decent overall but to me there are too many fillers in this album (Astral way, Desert journey, Gillys voyage) time will tell but I am not sure at all this album will be remembered long. Anyway who cares taste is personal! For a good example of successful dub with a trancy atmosphere anyone should check out: Ooze - Where the fields never end http://www.discogs.com/Ooze-Where-The-Fields-Never-End/release/31741

Your favourite track titles / release titles
Manuser replied to remnant's topic in General Psytrance
Lol! I remember listening to this and thought what the hell (and what the point?) I mean if you don't like the current scene, the best way to protest is by making something VERY good and superior to what you criticize... here it was the exact opposite anyway the tracktitles are great indeed! Others I like Astral projetion: No one ever dreams Agneton: Last man in paradise Yahel: Last man in the universe (see the similarity ) Dimension 5: Iron sun Shamanic tribes on acid: Alice in acidland (awesome!) -

Healing - The best track of the decade ?
Manuser replied to Scandinasia's topic in General Psytrance
Definitely a beautiful trance track, nevertheless when reading "best track of the decade" I was expecting something even better I prefer the track Hydro (by Digital blonde) which is IMO close to perfection.- 12 replies

Koxbox: The Scanner 2015 . ZERO ONE MUSIC
Manuser replied to psyber's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Will be curious to listen to it but indeed that bassline is an instant no buy for me, I personnally didn't really enjoy U-turn even though it had good moments but this dance floor oriented psytrance is not my cup of tea. -
Trip tonite is nice. The rest is not very interesting, not bad either. The tracks don't go far enough, sounds quite simple with not much inspiration IMO. It's decent: 5.5/10 is my rating of this release.

Of course we can, I won't speak for others but I never made the distinction Old/New school, just checking the year of the release is enough for me. This distinction has always been useless for me, I know not everyone agree we had a similar discussion last year in another topic. In the nineties, we had Astral projection, Cosmosis, Koxbox, X-dream, Darshan, they all sounded different yet it was called Goa trance and nothing else.

I feel the same way about this album, one can call it dark but not evil. That's it. Very innovative and personal sound, I feel this album is a bit underrated to be honest, I admire the creativity of Sandman. I also feel this album might have been a strong inspiration for the guys of Infected mushroom. My highlights are "Perfect stranger" (perfect opener), "Turtle beach", "Shockwave". Not a fan of the ending track. 8.5/10.
